    Well, when I updated my Epson software, little did I know that the printer now is smart enough to tell the difference between Epson branded and generic cartridges -- and refuses to operate on the latter. So now I'm stuck using the branded (and much more expensive) variety. But the cartridges DO work as advertised . . .

    Some printers require you to replace all the ink colors when one is out. I'm glad to be able to replace only the black ink when it runs out.
