This is a super-high capacity ink cartridge (black) for the Epson Artisan 837 Printer. It's better to purchase this this over generic printer ink brands because you never know with issue you might have with off-brands. I have found that it replicates exactly the quality that you get with the ink that comes with the printer, which is the best that there is. Text is as crisp and sharp as you will get on an inkjet printer (in plain text mode) but pictures in the special "Best Photo" printing mode that this printer has on ultra-high quality glossy Epson photo paper (8.5x11in.) is spectacular. The blacks are deep and striking, the shadows detailed and accurate, and if you happened to have any text in the photo or added some with Adobe Photoshop, it will show in perfect ultra high resolution on the printed image, no shaky edges or blurriness.

replaces my used up Epson black cartridge.too bad it only fits Epson printers. Tried HP black but for some reason they don't fit

I have used Epson printer for quite a few years now and both the printers as well as the ink cartridges were of very high quality.

Epson makes some great ink. I've never had a problem with it and the pictures look great. Never tried the cheaper ink cartridges you can get off of eBay. For the price you might as well stick with the name brand. Would be nice if the price was a little cheaper like on another well known site that you can bid on. I wanted it quickly so bought it local.

This ink produces excellent results reproducing near perfect colors. Best results achieved using corresponding Epson photo paper.

I'm and Epson Printer customer for life. Ink last quite long and the extra discount for being an Elite Member is appreciated.

I always use Epson ink in my Epson printers and I've never had any problems. I print mainly 4x6 photos although sometimes larger. One thing I have noticed, is that when the printer says one of the cartridges has low ink you can get many more 4x6 photos printed - something on the order of 5-10 more - so I don't replace immediately.

Lasts a good while and is well worth the money I paid.

buying the high yield cartridge helps save money by not having to purchase multiple lower yield cartridges more often.

I have consistently had Epson printers. My husband had a variety of other printers. However, any time we wanted pictures they were always done on my Epson. My neighbor is a geek. He said Epson is the best ink you can use for pictures. I completely agree. Of course it's great for everything else too.

worth spending the extra money. I used recycle cheap ink once and it did not last any time and print was terrrible.

This ink is quite long lasting and dries quickly. It also doesn't smudge as easily when it gets wet.
