Good little printer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my ET-4850 with this. It's a good little printer. However, I really miss the touch screen. This one doesn't have it. You have to use the buttons and they are a bit clunky. Other than that, it's a good printer. Actually prints photos which the predecessor didn't. We will see how long this one last.

Happy home office
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.EcoTank refills was the main reason for purchase, after the old Epson Xp-410 wouldn't accept paper. Cartridges for Xp-410 were hard to find, very expensive, and always seemed to need to be replaced. The ET-3850 closes up, paper is "hidden", and prints fast.

Upgraded from an Epson WF-3640
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used the Epson WF-3640 for several years with a self-installed CISS system (ink reservoir to bypass the expensive ink cartridges). It was wonderful, but occasionally it was cumbersome. With this ET-3850, I have almost all the features I loved with that printer AND the advantage of a built-in ink reservoir. It operates so very smoothly, I'm loving it. The only feature that I miss is the full duplex ADF of the WF-3640 -- now, for two-sided copies, I have to make two copy passes. But that's not critical, and this machine is wonderful.

EcoTank review
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup on my home network was easy. After HP “bricked” my Deskjet printer for not using HP branded ink at three to six times the cost of third party ink, I will no longer buy HP inkjet products. I am happy with the Epson EcoTank.

STOP THROWING MONEY AWAY ON INK CARTRIDGES
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should have bought this a long time ago when they were first introduced. So far it is perfect in all areas I have used. And best of all is no more having to buy all 4 colors even though I only need one and at about $50.00 each time. Quality of print is great and speed is more than fast enough. Very pleased with the white color and the entire product.

Overall nice printer.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.almost all good. Set up easy but lacks feedback on set up status and what is happening and what is next.. ink fill great. Operating software not great and not very intuitive or logical but adequate. Screen is too small . Size is nice and compact. Cost per print is very good. Price at Sams is about $50 dollars less this month.

Great purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so happy I ordered this printer because my daughter also owns the epson printer as well and recommended I purchase. I cannot tell you it seems the ink lasts a long long time and beats the cartridges any day. I won’t own any other from now on!!!!!!!

Would buy it again.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. We’ve only had it a short time and we haven’t used it too much yet but when we did use it we were very pleased with the quality of the print. Our old printer stopped working and we needed a replacement quickly so we decided to upgrade to this one per reviews and what it offered. The ink is vivid and seems like it’s going to last much longer than our old one and the print is clear and sharp.

Super easy to set up.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer was very easy to set up. And with the app on your phone it is even easier. I have a small office, so I do not do a lot of printing, which is why I got the printer. I need it mostly for scanning. I am not sure how good the retention of the ink is compared to others. Since I have only had it for a month.

Not impressed
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this is mid-February and it's now mid-April. So far I'm not impressed. I originally thought the reviews complaining about the lack of a touch screen were silly, but there are so many clicks required to do everything that I now appreciate what a dumb design this is. Seriously, it takes 3 clicks just to turn it off. Also I'm not sure these ink tanks will really last three years. I've already used 1/4 of the ink in just two months! Finally, the printer worked fine for 2 months and then just stopped with an error message nowhere to be found on the Epson support website. After doing every single type of connection check and reboot possible, I called Epson only to be told my problem was "too advanced" for the representative and someone would have to call me back within 24 hours. I FINALLY found steps to fix the problem elsewhere on the internet myself which required completely uninstalling and re-installing the software. The "advanced rep" didn't call me for FOUR days (not 24 hours) and when he did, there was no caller id so the call looked like spam and I didn't know to pick up the phone call. The printer seems to be working again, but I am not confident in its performance and would not buy this same model. Not sure I would buy an Epson printer at all again.
