    Photographers and Artists' Printer

I have been printing weekly with this machine for several months now. I can attest the following: the Pigment Black ink is gorgeous in both B&W and color images printed using the VFA setting (and the printer is very easy to figure out - knock on wood easiest printer to work with I've ever owned!) The Grey ink might be this printer's unsung hero however. Everyone on Youtube talks about the Pigment Black, but having used this printer a lot now (13"x19" is a life-changer), I see the Grey is the most-depleted ink. The Pigment Black stands out immediately on the page- endlessly deep completely flat black on matte paper - but the Grey you won't likely notice, hence unsung hero. If you are a Photographer, or an Artist in particular, I recommend skipping the 8.5x11" 4-color models. This printer is not expensive for what it does. Your higher resolution (4k+) photos and scans will look amazing on 13"x19". I have printed around 50 13"x19" sheets and I don't know how many 8x11, a few booklets, so far. Inks are at 80%, 60% Grey. The scanner can get resolutions your PC can't handle. One of the best things about this printer is you will be able to give prints to people with no real thought of the ink cost. Paper is where it's at. Red Mill has ICC Profiles for this Printer, if you go that route. Youtube has many excellent and Professional commentators on this printer. Staples is carrying matte 13"x19" these days, for which one of the Youtubers Jose Rodriguez kindly made an ICC Profile and released it for free (via FB). I mostly print from PC, but also am getting perfectly accurate color results (to my non-professional eye) printing directly from an iPhone as well. I rate the 8550 Excellent for its price:performance ratio. It's a unicorn, nothing else does what it does at that price. That said, I don't expect the printer to last a very long time - we shall see - my only deduction would be the plastic choices in build quality feel cheap. I would not be surprised to see plastic parts breaking as time goes by. Handle with care, and this may never be an issue.

Absolutely LOVE this printer! Took a bit to figure out some of it - like where exactly was tray 2 - but eventually figured it out. Since I print alot I really like the double sided printing as it saves on paper. It’s ot quiet but it’s not any louder than any other printer I’ve had. - I replaced my Brother laser with this one. The automatic openimg output tray was a surprise bonus but doesn’tclose unless you push the close button on the diplay which must be closed to load tray 2. Tray 2 doesn’t hold a lot of paper but it’s enough for me. I fill the tray every couple of weeks. Love the print quality too. Hope it stays working beautifully. Will only buy brand ink for this great printer to maintain it. Also like you can put larger paper in it too although I haven’t had an opportunity to try that out yet. Was well worth the investment!

I love the quality of this printer! I own a small stationary business, so accuracy, detail, and quick output are essential, and this machine does all of it! Be aware though that the machine does not automatically feed any paper above 110#. If you do have paper over 110# then be prepared to individually feed each sheet for printing. Also, it prints 13 x 19 images beautifully! Of course, one of the best things is the Eco tanks. The fact that you can print thousands of pages with out deleting your ink is a money saver!

I originally purchased this machine to copy numerous 12 x 12" scrapbook pages. While I used a scanner to review and then send the scans to the printer, I was able to customize the paper settings and send the scanned image to print. I was also able to adjust quality easily. This is truly an amazing printer, and I was so impressed with how many pages I was able to print from the ink and the quality of the image. The process to add ink is easy, and the price is surprisingly low for refills compared to ink cartridges. I'd buy again in a heartbeat!

Easy to set up and get running - once I had the color profiles for each kind of paper printing was a breeze! Somewhat lengthy setup process but the guides provided were detailed and thorough. Prints on gloss and luster paper (Epson Premium Gloss and Canon SG-201) are crisp, clear, and miles better quality than drug store photo prints for the same cost per print. Multiple cartridges makes it easy to have different kinds of photo paper loaded into the machine ready to go. Use Epson Photo Layout for the final prints for finer-grained control over the print.

Only had the printer for a month, so I can't comment on its reliability or durability. However, I can comment on its excellent quality and ease of use. Pictures and documents look fantastic. Some of the most vibrant colors I've seen on standard copy/printer paper. Somewhat pricy and probably wouldn't have bought it at regular price (was on sale at BB at time of purchase).

I've been using the Epson [ET-8550] inkjet color printer for several months now, and I couldn't be more impressed. From the moment I set it up, I was struck by its ease of use and the clarity of its color output. One of the standout features of this printer is its exceptional color quality. Whether I'm printing documents, photos, or even graphics for presentations, the colors always come out vibrant and true to life. The precision of the inkjet technology really shines through in every print, making even the most detailed images look stunning. Another aspect I appreciate is the printer's versatility. It handles a wide range of paper sizes and types with ease, from standard letter paper to glossy photo paper. This flexibility has been incredibly convenient for me, as I use the printer for both everyday printing tasks and creative projects. Setup was a breeze thanks to the intuitive interface and clear instructions provided by Epson. Plus, the printer's wireless connectivity makes it easy to print from any device, whether it's my laptop, smartphone, or tablet. In terms of performance, the Epson inkjet color printer has been consistently reliable. It prints quickly and quietly, with no jams or glitches even during high-volume printing sessions. Overall, I highly recommend the Epson inkjet color printer to anyone in need of a reliable and high-quality printing solution. Whether you're a student, a professional, or a hobbyist photographer, this printer delivers exceptional results every time.

The Epson-EcoTank Photo ET-8550 is amazing

I did a great amount of research before buying this printer. I am an avid photographer and often print photos of mine to create greeting cards. I had another Epson printer which used individual color cartridges and produced very beautiful prints of my photos. That printer was not working properly so I was looking for a printer that would not be too expensive and would produce comparable prints. The Epson ET - 8550 has an EcoTank and I wondered how that media would compare to the individual cartridges with which I was familiar. Setting up the printer was not difficult and printing the photos was very easy. To my surprise, the color photos produced by this Epson printer compared very favorably to the photos produced by my previous Epson printer. And, because of the EcoTank, I will save a lot of money on Ink!!!

This printer has worked beautifully right out of the box. It is excellent for photos. I am withholding judgment a little because my long term experience with inkjet’s includes clogged printheads and difficult recoveries, so now when I am gone on a two week vacation I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it is still printing well when I return. But first impressions are that it is a terrific printer.

I love this printer so much i bought 2. With a highly discounted price, I couldn't turn down getting one as a general/photo printer and one as a sublimation printer. The photo quality and sublimation image quality is AMAZING!!!! With the addition of the extra type of black and the gray to the normal CMY and black add an additional quality that rings out both darks and ligbt contrast in the prints. I will say, paper quality is a HUGE part of getting quality prints in both photos and sublimation transfers. Also, if you buy cheap refills, tbe quality may go down and you will have contaminated the ink wells permanently. This is a major investment in a printer, so be prepared to pay for quality ink, paper and accessories to use with it.

After several Months using the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 All-in-One Wide-format Supertank Printer, I can confidently affirm that this is a fantastic investment for anyone in need of a high-quality, user-friendly printer. Right out of the box, this printer is incredibly easy to set up. The instructions are clear and concise, making the process a breeze even for those who may not be the most tech-savvy. The user interface on the printer itself is straightforward and intuitive, saving me precious time in my busy schedule. The printer software for your computer or device also adds to the overall user-friendliness of this product, with easy-to-follow prompts and settings. One of the most remarkable features of this printer is the EcoTank technology. Despite the initial cost, the investment pays off in the long run. The high-capacity, cartridge-free system saves you the hassle and expense of frequently buying and replacing cartridges. The price point may seem a bit high initially, but when considering the savings on ink and the exceptional print quality, it's truly worth it. I'm thrilled with this printer and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone in the market for a reliable, high-quality printing solution. It's a solid investment that is worth every penny.

I had some photos I wanted to print on my old cartridge printer. I then discovered I need ink. To replace the 2 cartridges I needed would have cost about $150.00. If I was lucky I could get maybe 30 8x10 prints. I decided it was time to look into a new printer. I choose the Epson ET 8550 ink tank printer. I am very happy with the printer. The prints are sharp, the colors are amazing. So far I have printed over 75 photos from 4x6 to 13x19. I also printed 40 newletter's on plain paper. I still have FULL ink tanks! Setting up the printer was quick and easy. To be honest, I did have to replace the residual ink maintaince box which was $23. But according to the reviews I read, this is fairly common when loading the ink in the printer for the 1st time. Overall, I would recommend the ET8550 for people that need a wide format printer. It also has a built in scanner and it can function as a copier.

As a small photographer i have been eying this pronter for a few years. I have owned a regular eco-tank printer and it is the best printer I have ever owned! I spit out 100 4x6 photos that ive been staching on my computer as soon as I got it. It is a bit intimidating to set up since there are so many doors and trays, and it took a couple tester prints to fuiguire out that you NEED to select the right paper type when printing, but once I did, I only stopped because I had burned through a whole pack of paper! Im very excited to keep spritting out prints with this bad boy! As far as I can see, the colors are on point, and my black amd whites are perfect! And much more cost effective than sending to print!

We bought this printer to handle more advanced and demanding large format printing and photo needs. Little did we know we were also getting a workhorse that could power even mundane tasks. My family found ourselves in a bind not having ordered holiday cards and decided to try printing our own. Not only did this printer help us power though our card list (75+ double sided color holiday cards) but the printing quality never showed streaks, roller lines or evidence of overuse.

Overall, I really love this printer! I use it for my small business and the quality of printing is excellent. My only complaint is the printing extension that catches the paper coming out is positioned in a way that makes it difficult to access the main paper tray that’s located underneath it at the bottom of the printer. I also do not love that the extension tray does not automatically move back into the printer unless you prompt the printer to do so. Other than those two things, it works great for printing and scanning! The ink lasts a LONG time!
