Incredibly difficult to use
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm gonna throw it away when the ink runs out. Luckily, got it on sale. But very difficult to even perform basic printing, scanning, and connecting to wifi functions. Will stay away from Epson in future.

This is a review for the Epson Expression XP-640
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a review for the Epson Expression XP-640 that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I'd previously purchased only HP Inkjet printers until the cost of HP ink went through the roof. As a result, I was already looking to purchase an Epson Inkjet Printer, because of all the great reviews I'd read about and the low cost and high yields of Epsons ink. Sturdy and quiet and easy to use buttons with screen display. Very easy to set up, very easy to operate and the copies, scans and faxes come out nice. I was also impressed with the clarity of the print of the photos using photo paper. Just finished printing my first set of photo prints with the Epson Expression and they look gorgeous!! I'm using luster photo paper and they print a lot faster than I would have imagined. Epson has an amazing reputation and I love that this printer doesn't take up a ton of space. I’am very pleased with the quality and speed of printing, ink installation was simple, didn’t need instructions. I was nervous about the wireless set up but I had absolutely no trouble at all, it was all set up and hooked up within 15 minutes. Wifi setup was simple and no issues at all. The manual was very easy to read and understand. I love printing from my phone and laptop, it was extremely easy. It allows you to print your photos from virtually any source. Very easy to operate and the copies, scans, and faxes come out great! This is now my one only printer and it is, up to this point, an excellent primary printer.

Great all in one!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a review for the Epson Expression XP-640 that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I am not the most tech savvy person, so I was a little unsure when I started unboxing my Expression Premium Xp-640 printer. Boy was I surprised! The instructions walk you through step by step what you need to do to set up the printer, which was really helpful for me. The printer is also very compact, which is great for all it does! It easily fits on a shelf, side table or desk, and is easily accessible. Print quality for pictures was exceptional - I recently took a trip to New Zealand and wanted to print a picture for my desk. I printed a 8.5 x 11 sized photo of a landscape, and it turned out fantastic! The textures and colors were spot on, and it is sitting on my desk now - I've already received so many compliments and I've only had it for a week. One drawback (very minor) is that the touch screen cannot be down flush to the printer at the same time you have the output tray extended. This is minor, and I definitely wouldn't trade this if it meant the device had to be bigger. Other than that, everything works great. The wireless printing capabilities work seamlessly, and I had no issues connecting the printer to my computer or wifi. Overall, excellent value for an all in one device.

Great quality, function for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Last year I switched from Canon and HP printers to Epson because I was tired of replacing them every 24 months on the clock. I had heard good things about Epson. This is the second Epson printer that I’ve had the experience of trying, and I wasn’t let down. This is a great printer for family or small business. It looks well made for the price. The first thing I noticed was the size. It’s a great size, smaller than expected. I like that the paper tray is slide out, so it stays hidden. It holds a good amount for me, 50 sheets. It was very easy to get up and running, with a program you can follow step by step. While the printer does not have a touch screen, it’s easy to navigate the options. The print speed (ISO print speeds of 13.0 ISO ppm (black) and 10.0 ISO ppm (color)), is great for the size. It prints very quiet. The output tray can be placed back into the printer, great for space savings. The quality of scanning and printing photos (4x6 & 5 x 7) was good for the price. And the speed was good. My only complaint is that the unit is a bit heavier than expected, but if you leave it in one place, that’s no issue. This is a review for the Epson Expression XP-640 that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review, but I would still highly recommend it. Its ability for the price is great.

Great Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Epson Expression XP-640 The Epson Xp-640 is a great compact printer especially for someone with limited space. Excellent for the dorm room or small apartment. The three trays in the front, one for printing paper and another for glossy picture paper and the discharge tray, makeup most of the consolidation. However putting space aside the picture quality and the printing jobs I was able to complete were of excellent quality. I also set it up for my smart phone and can now print from anywhere. The two sided printing is also a bonus. I love the fact that it save’s me time when I can print, scan and copy all of my work in a shorter period of time. The printer also has a USB and Card Slot. The setup was especially easy and did not take long at all. Connecting wireless to the computer and phone was also easy, all you really have to know is your network name and password. All the other instructions were very easy. Installing the ink was simple and the distinctive click reaffirmed the correct installation. The printer comes with some printing paper and some photo paper, so your good to start a project right away. This is a review for the Epson Expression XP-640 that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Excellent photo print quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This all in one photo printer has everything you need minus the fax machine. It copies, prints and scans. You can print photo quality prints on 4x6 paper up to a full size 8x10 photo paper size. There are 2 separate paper trays. Cassette 1 is for the smaller photo paper and cassette 2 is for the large full sheets of photo or regular paper. There's also a disk tray, but I have not tried this yet. Fast printing. Easy set up. Individual ink cartridges. Smaller than a normal all in one, the display can sit flush with the front of the printer, or you can rotate it up when in use. Prints effortlessly from smartphones, nothing to install. Even my PC found the printer and printed without having to install any software. The hardest part was the set up, as it's not a touch screen so you have to use the arrows and toggle. Overall very impressed with the quality of the prints. great little basic printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn't want to spend too much on a printer as it seems these days they're not built to last more than 3 or 4 years anyway. Last printer was an HP - as it was giving me so many headaches and the ink was crazy expensive I decided to try Epson this time. I've had this printer for about 3 weeks and am extremely happy with it. Set up was easy enough and it works perfectly from an HP desktop, Dell laptop, Mac laptop, and a few different iPhones and iPads. Double sided printing is fantastic and the print quality for black & white and for color is top notch. I've only printed one photo but was very impressed with that. It has two different trays for paper / photo paper which confused me a bit at first but you get used to it. The tray that catches the printed page needs to be pulled out which is a little annoying but I just leave it out all the time. So far so good, I'm very pleased I went with this printer!

Print great quality photos
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a review for the Epson Expression XP-640 that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. First let me say Epson is a great printer, that prints crisp color and definition for photos and copies. This really is a reliable printer. The setup was easy. Just connect it to you home wifi network and your solid. I was able to connect it to my computer, tablet and to my cell phone. The overall setup is a breeze. I literally had the device out of the box and printing within minutes. When you turn this printer on it's on in 10-15 seconds. The printing process is very fast. A one-sided print takes about 15 seconds. It also has a double sided option. This printer is great. A fine choice for a all in one printer.

Great photo printer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a review for the Epson Expression XP-640 that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I have to admit, I was pretty amazed at the quality of this photo printer. I have never had a photo printer before and I absolutely love the quality of the prints on this. They are very vivid and look just like a professional developed them. Standard documents and color printing is also good quality, unless you use a fast draft print, then it is a little grayer than I am used to. The printer prints rather quickly which is very nice as I do not have to wait a long time for photos or long documents. I also love that it has the ability to do 2 sided printing. This saves paper and the hassle of me trying to figure out which way to load the paper correctly to print on the other side. It does not have a feeder however, so you would either have to scan the document in or have it on your computer. The paper trays are a little confusing on this printer and I wish it did not have so many. Originally I thought in order to print a 4x6 photo I needed one of the extra trays, but I was wrong. I loaded the 4x6 photo paper, loaded the tray and the printer kept telling me that I had no paper in tray 2. After a lot of go-around, I figured out that tray 2 also had a 4x6 option on it, though it was hard to read. Also any time you change the paper size/type, you have to change it on the display of the printer which is time consuming as it is not touch screen. But, once you get the hang of it, it is worth it. I also do not like that it does not have a fax option, this is something I need daily for work. Now if I want to fax I have to scan it to my computer and then fax online. Since there is no auto feeder, this is time consuming. Having no fax and confusing trays are the only reasons I gave this a 4 instead of a 5. Another nice feature on this printer is that you email the printer documents to print even if you are not at home. You can set the printer up to have it's own email address through epsonconnect.com. Then when I am on the road, I can send documents to that email address to print for me. You can also install an app on your smartphone and print from there. Lastly, you can print direct from an SD card. This printer is very versatile and gives you a lot of different options to make printing easier. I love that I can pull photos right from my smartphone or camera and print them easily. It also has a USB port to connect devices to. Other than the two reasons I gave above about the fax and trays, I do highly recommend this printer. It is easy to use, has high quality printing features in documents and photos and is space-saving.
