Great All-In-One!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love Epson printers and this one doesn't disappoint. I don't use the faxing capabilities so I can't vouch for them but for Scanning (both flatbed and tray-fed), Printing, and ease of setup this thing rocks. Thanks to the color touchscreen, the setup (both assembly and wifi) was a breeze and swapping out inks is quick and simple. Scanning is great and I highly recommend using "professional" mode. It gives you the most flexibility. Print quality is top-notch. We've done anything from receipts, shipping labels, full-page photos on matte paper, and little full-bleed semigloss 4x6's that have all turned out wonderfully. We have 3 computers that print to it via wifi as well as a tablet and two smart phones. The Epson Print app is easy enough to navigate and before you know it, you're printing from your phone/tablet. We really love this printer!

Best Printer I've Ever Owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, it is complicated to set up, but it’s worth it! My Canon died and I wanted a printer that could print on CD’s and DVD’s, plus it had to have separate tanks for the ink. I Looked at the reviews for the Epson XP-830 and decided to try it out. Being use to the Canon printers, I was ready to go through the long process of setting up the WIFI. After loading the software the printer asked if I wanted to set up the WIFI. The printer scanned all of the WIFI in my area and I picked out my network and added my password, piece of cake! Then the printer put in all of the information for registering and all I had to do was hit send. The text printing is great and when I printed my first DVD, the colors were perfect! I would recommend that anyone needing a printer run, don’t walk, to Best Buy and get this printer. The printer exceeded my expectations and, of course, the Best Buy staff was great as always!

Fantastic Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this printer since 12/2016 and it's been a fantastic printer/scanner/copier the entire time. I'm self employed and a father of 2 so I use all the features quite a bit. From work to school projects I've printed 1000's of pages and the scanner is in constant use. The pages have always printed without streaks, blotches or missing detail and the scanner gets perfect pictures of whatever I want. It does 2 sided prints, copies or scans and top loader is great for scanning or copying multiple pages at one go. The built in photo paper tray has been great as well, making printing photos a breeze since 90% of the pictures I print are 4x6. I haven't printed on any cd's but it can. One of the best things is that it's wireless and can be printed from my home pc, laptop, my kids laptops or even our phones (that's cool). There are so many awesome things about this printer that I can't believe how cheap it was when I bought it. The only con I have which seems to be with every Epson printer I've used that uses multiple ink cartridges is that when one is out you can no longer print without replacing it. It's been mentioned before in other reviews but I'm honestly confused at why I can't print using just my black cartridge if I still have plenty of ink in it. I always have extra cartridges because I've gotten used to it but I shouldn't have to worry about it and it could seriously dampen someones day if they can't print something without having to run to the store to buy ink. For this inconvenience and seemly strange feature I've lowered the score to 4 stars, if you could still print with just the black ink it would have received 5. I love this printer and highly recommend it even with that ink cartridge flaw but I will be upgrading to the ecotank models once they have a model that matches this one. Right now they don't have one with same features such as the Expression with a top loader, the awesome 4.3" LCD touch screen (ecotanks have a 2.3") and that can print quite as nicely (5760x1440 compared to 4800x1200 resolution of the ecotank). I'll finally upgrade when they do, until then I'll be loving my 830!

Smallest all in one printer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This does everything, literally, that any other printer can do, and it is considerably smaller than any other printer. It is built solidly and feels solid when using it. I was amazed at all the features in such a compact size. Automatic double sided fax/copy, rear paper feed for single sheets when needed, can write on disks, photo inks, automatic open and close of front panels and trays. AirPrint, etc for phones, Ethernet interface (or wi-fi). All of that is great, but what is amazing is the obvious quality of this printer. Highly recommended.

Great Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this printer. It took longer than my previous HP printer to set up, but as any HP product I've gotten has died on me 2 years or less from buying, a bit longer set up time is not a big deal. The pictures turn out great. It did take me a moment to figure out where paper went in as it is below the place for the picture paper, but once I figured it out, it's easy to add more paper.

Not user friendly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Epson printers. They are the only printers I buy. However this model is terrible. If it works the print quality is good. Otherwise I would have given it zero stars. It is difficult to set up and get connected to WiFi. It won't print from my computer because it thinks I am trying to fax. It took three days to finally get it connected to my iPad and iPhone. It was printing from there. Today it keeps telling me out of paper and no matter how many times I load or unload the paper tray it won't work. I have only had it about three weeks and only used it less then 10 times. It shouldn't be worn out and not working already. Now I must go looking for a different printer. Stay clear of this model. The paper trays are awful to use.

Quite impressed actually
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A couple things I love of this printer is that it does double sided and it also has a quiet mode, plus fun extra to do projects as well. Only complaint would be that the paper has jammed for no appearant reason and I've had issues connecting it to my home. Other than that I love it!

Annoying and a poor choice if you want quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned or used dozens of printers since the 1980's and this is by far the worst. Only the price recommends it. This is nowhere near the machine of other Epsons I have owned or used. To start, the printer feels flimsy and delicate overall. There are constant connection issues if the printer is turned off and then restarted for a print job. The on/off switch is on a pop-up panel instead of the main body where it should be. If the print tray extension is blocked by something on your desk, the panel tells you to pull it out by hand. Don't! if you do, it will never retract automatically again. All that is is just minor compared to the printing experience. The software does not like MS Word (2010) or Adobe Reader X or XI. On draft black and white setting, overall quality is very poor, but it is a draft. On standard black and white, printing is uneven. Certain letters, such a "g" are printed much heavier than others. The bigger problem is that random words and lines appearing to be italicized even though they are not. A document printed using standard generally is not of sufficient quality for a business setting. To print a black and white document of acceptable quality, I needed to print in color at the high quality setting. Doing so consumes a tremendous amount of ink. While the box the printer comes in claims 530 pages with the black XL, cartridge, I got less than 100 single-sided pages of text with no photos or graphics. Epson was really good when i complained and offered to replace the printer. I did and experienced all the same problems on the replacement machine. The other annoyance is the constant firmware updates and that it continues to want me to update fax features. I do not use fax from the printer and did not install it during set-up. On the positive side, the scanning features work well. In summary, stay away from this machine. Buy another epson or anything else.

not work while no color ink
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer could not print black/grayscale while any one of color cartridges is empty. Whenever it prints, it checks all cartridges to make sure none is empty. They said, they do so to make sure the print quality is good. It's kinda suck because although we doesn't print color in, we still need. I check the QA in their website, and they suggest to have a spare cartridges. Therefore, if someone want to buy this product, make sure you have enough color ink.

Good Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Required many updates before it would install. WiFi wireless easy to set up but wouldn't print from computer until plugged in USB. Now printer prints, but computer doesn't recognize it as installed hardware. Go figure. Otherwise good machine.

Easy set-up & works great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third Epson printer over the last 22 years. Best photo-print quality & inks that don't fade over time. The wireless was easy to set up on PC, network, and phone apps. The fax makes up for the fact that my new PC did not have a phone modem, it was easy to configure (YA...I still send faxes as strange as sounds and needed a way to do so) Best part it will continue to print even when one of the inks are out as opposed to the prior models that left you stranded and running out to the store; also the way the tray comes out gives it a smaller desktop footprint and lower height. I've used many different printers over the years (at work etc.) some may appear to be more of a bargain up-front but over time Epson is the BEST PRINTER FOR THE MONEY !

Poor print
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will be surprised if this printer last a year. My small business still operates on Windows XP so my printer choices were limited. I use it for printing invoices and, once each year, about two hundred fliers for mail outs. The draft mode print is horrible! The entire printer seems to be made very cheaply and seem frail. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because of the ease of setup and installation. Look around first befroe choosing this one.

Printer literally SUCKS Ink
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this printer January 2016 after reading many reviews praising its attributes. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it produces quality print jobs, however having owned it for over a year I have found out that like my review summary states it really uses tremendous amount of ink. I use it mainly for text printing, mainly black and very few print jobs that are what you would call "ink intensive" printing. It uses lots and lots of ink compared to the OfficeJet 8600 it replaced. Although I have it set to print just black it requires ALL (5 of them) ink cartridges to have at least some ink in them for it to print at all. It also will not reliably auto duplex print card stock paper without jamming, sounds like the guts are going to come apart when the duplexer jams. Auto duplexing is one of the main features I look for when purchasing a printer and while this printer has this and more it is certainly lacking it that aspect. I have looked at the auto duplexer and it most definitely has a design flaw that causes heavier paper to jam.

Easy Setup / Excellent Ouput
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initial setup was simple for a network (wired) attached XP-830. Text output and photos look excellent. Too early to tell if this printer will quickly consume ink or will be moderate in use.
