The printer tries to do too many things
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer isn't bad, but it tries to be and do too many things. As a result, it is overly complex and doesn't perform anything exceedingly well. And it goes through ink like it's addicted to the stuff. But, that having been said, it's not a bad deal for the price. I'd recommend it, but with the caveat that one should not set expectations too high.

So-So text print quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just replaced my Canon Pixma iP4500 with this printer. Sad to say, I think I'll be taking this one back. An entire line of print looks like someone cut the page and then taped it back together so the top half of the letters don't quite match up with the bottom half. Not the quality I was expecting after reading the other reviews.

Worst printer ever!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the WORST printer ever!!! This is the SECOND one I’ve purchsed and now this one doesn’t work!!! Same problem as with the first. If the paper ever jams, just throw this stupid printer away!!!! You will never be able to print with it again even though you follow the instructions on how to clear the jam. This printer will jam EVERY time you attempt to print once you have the very first jam. My first printer did this and now the second replacement one has done it also. I am so frustrated!!!! Thankfully I purchased a warranty with the second one. It is going back tomorrow. I haven’t had it three months and now it doesn’t work. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRINTER!!!!!

Set up nightmare
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned 3 Epson printers. They last about 3 years, then toss them out. I almost tossed it out day one. Trying to hook up this printer on Windows 10 on a HP Spectre was impossible. I spent 2 hours with tech support and could not get it working wirelessly. I ended up called a tech support person for $80 and they spent 1 hour with tech support as well after failing and finally got it to work. Sorry Epson, when this one is toast I am going after a different brand. As a sad note, the people they have answering the phone are clearly new english speakers. The text printing is fine but the capacity for paper is small. Should have looked closer at that for my small office.

DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Will not let you print in only black if you are out of any of the colored cartridges, even if the black cartridge is full. This in infuriating. I will never buy Epson products again.

Constant software and print head problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this 2 years ago and the software and wireless connectivity have not worked properly since the first few months. At this point, the scanning software crashes at least once per document, showing "not responding" and requiring a restart. I have updated the software and uninstalled/reinstalled several times, to no avail. It connected wirelessly for the first few months, but I have not been able to get it to connect since then. Finally, the print heads are skipping and no amount of cleaning appears to fix the problem. Going to donate this to someone with more patience and buy a non-Epson printer/scanner.

Incorrectly displays ink usage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I seem to run out of ink even if I am not using it. I know I have more ink left than what it says. Once it says I aalm out of ink then I can't print. I should be able to print even when it says I am out of ink that way I use the remaining ink in the cartridges. I bought this printer to replace my HP photosmart printer which does the same stupid thing but at a much slower rate and also my HP photosmart printer's ink expires that is why I decided to try an Epson printer. Everything else on the printer works fine.

Printer disappoints.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned Epsons since 1990's and was never disappointed like this time, runs very slow on wifi, delays up to 4-6 minutes for a 8x10 normal print.

It prints sometimes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far it scans, copies, and faxes just fine but the print function is iffy. I will turn it on and it prints just fine one day. The next time that I turn it on to print a document, it just makes noises and locks up. Canceling the print takes about 10 minutes so that I can try again to print something. The last thing that I printed took over 20 minutes to finally get it to print. I even tried turning it back off then on again and that doesn't seem to help.

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased my Epson XP-830 about 16 months ago. Initially, the print performance was acceptable. Over time the print performance deteriorated. Started getting fading colors with streaks and faded text print along with ink smudges. I got to the point of cleaning heads every week. I also did not like the scanning feature. Not user friendly. Avoid this printer.

This printer stinks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel this Epson printer is the worse thing I ever bought. I have an old Canon that will print from both the top and bottom. nOw none of the printers do that but when my cannon goes I know I will be in big trouble. It was so simple and I could use either the tray or the above tray. They are making them cheaper and cheaper. It really stinks

Not a good printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer to replace an HP that died. I was hoping this would be a better printer than the HP, but unfortunately, that has not been the case. Here the problems I have had with it: Ink is obscenely expensive. It costs over $70 for a set of ink cartridges. The yield is terrible so you will be replacing these frequently. It will not print a black and white page if any of the color cartridges are empty. Extremely small ink capacity. I can't even print 50 pages without having to replace the ink. These are standard documents, not photos or image heavy documents Very slow. Once it starts to print, the speed it acceptable, but it often takes 10 minutes before it even starts to print. Replacing an ink cartridge takes even longer. Poor paper handling and low paper capacity. You can only get about 20 sheets of paper in the tray. Mis-feeds are common, so you'll waste half of that. This is a low priced printer, so I didn't expect much, but I did expect it to work. Every time I use this printer I have to do something to get it to print. Either I have to power cycle it, replace ink cartridges or clear jammed paper.
