The cloud scanning is confusing at best, and I've never been able to get the "Epson Center" working. I was fairly upset to find today (thus the review) that Epson changed their policy, updated their firmware and "blacklisted" my ink. Out of nowhere the Ink I have been using for the last 4 months is no longer allowed by Epson. I do you generic brand ink. Given its about 25% of the price. I'd avoid Epson and any cartridge printer at this point and just go for the refillable tanks available from other companies.

Epson periodically provides firmware updates to address issues of security, performance, minor bug fixes, and to ensure your printer functions as designed. Your WF-4740 was designed to work only with genuine Epson ink cartridges, therefore some updates may affect the functionality of third-party ink. Non-Epson branded or altered Epson cartridges that functioned prior to a firmware update may not continue to function. Followed all instructions and found no paper inside the machine, closed unit and resett to no avail. Took machine almost completely apart and found no paper inside, but still showing paper jam. Taking it back. School Teachers should not have these types of headaches.
