Haven’t had a lot of time printing much, but it’s done fine job so far. I don’t anticipate any problems.

My prior printer was an HP. Horrible from day one, so I went for a differnt brand. This is too big for workspace. The site didn't give measurements. Also, way too technological for me. If it weren't on sale, I would not have bought it. Won't re-purchase this brand.

Print quality good, but ink is unusually expensive

Buying ink for this printer costs the same as going to Fedex office and printing. The ink it comes with got me 130 color pages before running out. The XL cartridges say something like 1,100 pages, and cost $140, but i only got a few hundred before empty. Yes it’s convenient to have 11x17 pronting at home. But i wish there were better options for ink.

first printer I got the power on button did NOT work so I had to return it. When I called support, I got bounced around and tried several things that did not work. However Best Buy sent a new printer and that one is working just fine.

Decent printer, does not come with ink

The first thing to call out is that the printer does not come with ink for printing. It has a starter ink set that says it can be used until it’s used up, but it said it was empty immediately. Next is the printing speed, printing via WiFi is extremely slow. I have another printer next to this one and it prints much faster via WiFi. Also, when you select “Portrait” layout it prints Landscape and vice-versa. The paper is fed in sideways but is still was not what I expected the first time I printed something. I tested printing from a laptop and a smartphone. The touch screen is large and easy to use - and also easy to connect to WiFi with a password (because of its size). Overall though, it does what it advertises but the fact that it’s not indicated anywhere that you need to buy ink right away and the slow WiFi printing takes away a couple of stars.

    User Error??

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This printer came recommended to replace the Xerox in my classroom. I really hope I can figure out everything soon because right now it’s very frustrating! It does double-sided print and copying sometimes. Sometimes I can’t find a way to change it from single to double or back again depending on what I need. I also tells me the paper is the wrong size when it hasn’t been changed. I know it’s just user error, but right now it’s frustrating because the Xerox was literally “plug and play !”

The ink cartridges are too limited in the amount of ink they hold. Otherwise, I’m very satisfied with the product.

    Don't Buy This One!

I bought this printer in October 2020, and have had nothing but problems with it since a few weeks after I bought it (I get a line on every page scanned, even though I've cleaned it per Epson's instructions a couple of times, but I decided to live with it - my mistake). I constantly get error message 000043 while printing, copying or doing the maintenance on the print heads and alignment through the unit itself, which you have to do each time it quits and shows that message - it's like a ride you can't get off. There was a Windows update that affected some functionality, and it worked well for about two days after I installed the update, then it went back to halting during a task and showing the same error message - multiple times a day, sometimes 5 or 6 times. I did an online support chat and was told it was a hardware failure and needed to be replaced, and given a number to call for a replacement. After 30 minutes with a rep, going through everything I'd already done, it worked fine, of course - until after we got off the phone and I tried printing again - 2 pages printed with alignment issues! I tried to fix the alignment (again), got the error message (again), called back, and am now getting a refurbished printer sent to me - basically someone else's lemon! If this printer was a year old or older, I likely wouldn't mind the refurbished, but since it's been such a pain and is fairly new I feel it should be replaced with new, not someone else's problem. I will not buy another Epson product, and don't recommend this one. It also gives me problems when making copies from the glass (it will tell me my page is on the glass wrong for an 8-1/2x11 copy, yet if I rotate it I get the same message and have to put it back, then it copies), so I pretty much only use the auto doc feeder.

Epson takes Printer Horrors to the Extreme Level

Regret purchasing an Epson product. Still have ink in the cartridge? Doesn't matter, they tell you it's empty. Run out of black? Don't try printing in color, because it won't let you. Have an "empty" cartridge installed? Don't bother scanning documents, because it won't let you reach the main screen or use the app to scan from your computer. To sum it up, this thing is completely useless once you run out of ink, and better yet, you may not even actually be out of ink! I understand that ink is horribly overpriced and a major waste of money, but the fact that Epson won't even let me use their product ensures that I will never spend a dime with their company again. Going to get a Brother printer, this has been one of the most disappointing and frustrating purchases I have ever made.
