I needed a multi-faceted replacement for my HP 6980. I'm still getting used to all the functions but so far so good. Wireless connectivity is excellent whether I'm printing from my phone or laptop. Print quality is good, not as laser sharp as my old hp deskjet, but I still feel as if i'm getting a professional quality print. I'm really looking foward to utilizing the document scan feature. When I do, I may update this review.

Very easy to set up. Just insert the disc and go. I really like the function where the paper tray slides out automatically when a print is made. No more trays sticking out in the way.

Great printer - especially if you need/want large format prints. A serious upgrade over its predecessors, this Epson now treats the rear feed slot as another tray - great for feeding envelopes (or cards, anything where you're not using a tray). The cartridges are super-easy to replace, the scanner is very intuitive, and the interface remains touch-screen as in earlier Epsons. Mind you, this is a large and heavy machine, so make sure you have a spot where you can place it, but I would recommend this model without hesitation. Beats the crap out of the competition.

This printer is fast and efficient, it has great photo quality. The problem I had with it was when I went to print out a 10 page report, I only had print on half of them. The feeder for the paper tray is completely off. I tried to redo it and had 18 pages come out, some printed on and some blank. So if you dont plan on printing more than one page at a time it is a fast, good print quality printer. Sad because I really like the wide format and all in one together.

This has been a really good investment for my little business. Now I can print posters and big bulk documents myself instead of having to go somewhere else to have it done. The only Con that I have found so far is that you have to be careful not to press down on the lid too hard if you are coping a page out of a book. The lid pops off very easily, it pops back into place with a little bit of time but it is not recommended to close lid tightly.

We use nearly daily for both normal pronting and printing 11x17 drawings and it work great! Haven’t tried printing pictures or photo paper and probably wint. Works great for what we use it for. We did have to reset to factory after changing out internet even though it was the same network name and password but no bug deal there. Reset and it worked flawlessly again.

The Epson WF-7840 will appeal to those seeking a feature laden wide-format AIO printer that produces great text and decent (good and definitely not bad/poor/unacceptable) photo prints. Remember, the WF-7840 is not a dedicated 5-6 color photo printer like my Epson Artisan 837. Also, the WF-7840 supports printing labels and on media up to 13" x 19"; the competitive Brother MFCJ6945DW [which purports to having a cheaper page print costs] does not.

    Very Handy Little Printer

So I bought this little printer for work about three years ago, and I can honestly say this is one of my favorite printers ever. It prints very quickly. The scan function/app is intuitive. Just a note, from three years of EXTENSIVE use: this printer cannot easily do double sided prints on card stock/thick paper. It tends to jam. Another small issue I ended up having with it is that if you scan a document using the document feed and it has ANY wet ink when you perform the scan, the scanner will have streaks of that ink for many many many scans. So be sure your documents don't have wet ink when using the document scanner because it'll result in long-term streaks on the document feed scanner. There's not really any way to clean it, either. I tried everything the Epson website offered. Overall, I'm super happy with this printer and am buying myself one now.

I had never bought an Epson printer before. I had usually used an HP. I had bought a replacement HP because my wife was working from home and wore out the HP. The replacement HP was a disaster and eventually had to return it. The Epson was probably more of a printer than we needed but it was available. What a stroke of luck. This printer was easy to set up and get running. The blue tooth to print off the phone or Ipad is a little more complicated, but not too bad. The ink is cheaper and lasts longer than the HP. As I said earlier this is quite a printer and could easily support a small office. I would definitely buy it again.

This Epson prints quickly. The color prints out well, also. After 2 months, I just got a notice that the ink color is low, so I'm not sure if this printer has starter ink. The only negative for me on this printer is when the document is done printing, the last page is on top. I have had printers that have page 1 on top when the document is finished printing. I miss that feature, especially on documents with a lot of pages.

    DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE!

This has been a great addition to my office. I especially love the 11x17 printing and Wi-Fi connectivity. But if you plan to use 3rd party cartridges - DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE! Epson has a nasty habit of disabling them with firmware updates and as a result, is in a class action lawsuit.
