I am a crafter and needed a printer that could handle 12x12 paper. This fit the bill. Problem is that without ink, the printer is useless and Epson will only allow their brand to work. They update firmware leaving any after market inks unusable. I hate that I needed this printer and now am locked into unreasonbly priced ink. Its also challenging scrolling through menues of items to look for what you want on the panel screen.

Your Epson WorkForce Pro WF-7840was designed to work only with genuine Epson ink cartridges, therefore some updates may affect the functionality of third-party ink. Non-Epson branded or altered Epson cartridges that functioned prior to a firmware update may not continue to function. Having easy access to the back is the only I can use some of the features. Took awhile for Geek Squad to set up. Who knows what would have happened if I tried.
