    Bought the printer and installed the Cartridges. everything looks ok until the point I setup the software using the CD. it did print the startup page and then started updating the firmware. once the firmware is updated, there is an error asking to replace the ink initial installed cartridges with new cartridges. without this I cannot print anything now. nowhere in the product it says I have to buy another set of cartridges and replace the initial cartridges comes with printer. its a ripoff with the price of the printer and the cartridges. not sure if its bestbuy issue or epson but its completely misleading the customers.

    The printer is perfectly fine. I purchased this because I previously used the same model. Based on the "specifications" provided on Best Buy website it states that ink cartridges are INCLUDED. Well -that's not accurate. What they do include is empty ones that are used for initialization only. No ink. So then you have to go back to a store and buy more. Best Buy "customer service" was of no help - I was told nothing they could do about it and if I had read the other reviews I would have known this? Seriously? Why should I not expect to receive the product described in the description? Oh yeah, I have to read all the reviews to see that they include and don't.

    The first thing you notice when looking at the Epson - WorkForce® Pro WF-7840 Wireless Wide-format All-in-One Printer is it's size. You may think "I don't need something that large and intimidating". In short... YES YOU DO! If you have room for this large machine in your house it's a must. I have 2 college students and a wife who works from home due to the pandemic. There is printing, scanning and copying going on constantly. And this printer is not intimidating at all. It walks you through every task you do on it. Setting up is very easy. unbox it, put the CD installer in your computer and in minutes you printer is connected to your home WIFI network. A user guide is also downloaded that goes into depth on how to use the machine. There is also an on screen guide that will walk you through the various tasks it performs. Just hit the "?" on the front screen and get the help you need. Now the touchscreen. It is awesome. The printer I am replacing had a screen with buttons that was impossible to see because it was on top of the printer and not backlit. The Epson - WorkForce® Pro touchscreen is backlit, with color, and easy to touch buttons. It's just like using your smartphone. The ink cartridges are very easy to install and replace. The original cartridges that come with the printer are on the small side but through BestBuy or the Epson website you can purchase two larger size cartridges at very reasonable prices. Using this printer won't break the bank for ink. The best thing in my opinion is the 2 sided printing option. No more having to turn your stack of printed papers over to print on the back side of the paper. Being able to load 500 sheet of blank paper is a great feature also. No having to find the paper feeder on the back and putting maybe 100 sheets at most. Nope, now you have 2 pull out drawers in the front of the printer that hold 250 sheets each. you also have the capability to change to larger size paper, photo paper, envelopes and more. Also the option to load huge pieces of paper up to 13:"x19" is a plus. My wife scrapbooks and often uses 12x12 paper stock and is happy now she can print on them. Scanning is easy to use also. You can scan documents or pictures to your computer, email, or a USB memory device. You can scan or copy 1 page by opening the cover or do many pages at once using the automatic paper feeder on the top. The printed paper tray pops out automatically when photos or pages are printed. That's a great feature from having just a little plastic tray that flipped down and dispersed pages of paper all over my room on my old machine. The quality of documents and pictures are amazing. Photo's printed on glossy photo paper look almost profession quality. Documents print up clean and clear. This printer is well superior to the other name brands in the printer catergory.

    Do not waste your money. This printer either prints lines through the pictures or prints blurry words. I have cleaned the printer head and done all the other recommended maintenance on the screen. Nothing has worked. It also uses a lot more ink than my previous HP printer. I purchased this in Oct 2021 as it was the only printer available. I have wasted a lot of money on the EP ink (I only buy the manufacturer ink) and now I have to take it in. BUT Best Buy Geek Squad is nothing like it used to be. It is impossible to get an appt. You call the 800 number and then they send you a link to make the appt. Then the link takes you to a chat where that chat agent will not help you and after 15 minutes of trying to get them to just make an appt, they will not reply. Go somewhere else to buy your printers Or buy from manufacturer.

    Research the magenta issues before buying!

    Total problems with the magenta and the cartridges being marked as empty at more than half full, unrecognized cartridges just pops up. Once one goes out starting with the magenta the rest promptly follow. Today it said magenta was then unrecognized and while I was replacing that the other 3 went into unrecognize! This printer has good reviews but I have not had a good experience. We actually purchased a second thinking the first round of problems was a fluke but before we could hook it up it happened again! I am done, taking the second one back since it's still unused and cutting my losses!

    i thought i was getting a great printer...however epson just rolled out a mandatory firmware update which made this printer obsolete unless you can afford to pay their exorbitant prices for Epsom branded ink only...I thought I lived in America and I still do... so therefore Epsom, you just gained one very aggitated ex customer who will tell anyone she can not to buy your products.

    I’ve purchased & returned this printer 3 times & it’s still having issues with the ink displaying correctly & after trying the self clean option it’s Having more issues recognizing the black ink & im using the ink epson supplied with the printer. I feel like they are refurbishing these printers & reselling them. As a long time Best Buy customer im very disappointed

    Paper Jam error. Never got through the setup

    There is truly nothing like spending your hard earned money to not even be able to utilize your purchase.. I can’t even get passed the setup because of a paper jam error!! Fresh out of the box!! I’ve turned it off and restarted about 30-40 times. I’ve followed the instructions to clear the INVISIBLE paper jam each time. Refund is out of the picture..I’m stuck with a lemon.. sucks man…. Our country is slowly degrading in all facets of durability and dependability.. the only reason it’s getting a star is because I have to give atleast one.

    This printer has not workefd correctly since I bought it and when I contacted EPSON -they could not get it to connect either - would not buy another EPSON printer as it is not user friendly and it had issues since day 1.

    I was quite surprised when I pulled this printer out of the box. For the price, I was not expecting something with this high a quality build. It’s robust and well-built, with the physical construction being something I would expect with a much higher price tag. There’s not a whole lot to the assembly/setup. The only thing that requires actual “assembly” is simply inserting the print cartridges which takes just a few seconds. The other portion is just removing numerous pieces of tape that are holding all the moving pieces in place during shipping. Setup was simple and easy using the touchscreen. It takes just a few minutes to get up and running and it connected to my wifi network easily. The touchscreen is predictable , responsive, and a joy to use. For being a high speed printer, the print quality is phenomenal. I wasn’t expecting the prints to come out with such high detail and vibrant colors. Printing speed is also good even for color as well as the wide format prints. Oh, and it’s also very quiet while printing. A neat feature of this printer is that the print output tray automatically extends when you start printing. This is a nice, space-saving design that allows the printer to take up less space while not in use. The wide format printing is a must-have for presentations and charts where you just need more room for information. It can print on up to a 13 x 19 sheet of paper but what’s also nice is that it can scan up to 11 x 17. That is pretty unique feature with most print/scanners only being able to scan letter-sized paper. The scanning bed is large and there’s also a top feed for scanning multiple pages. The high capacity trays can hold up to 550 sheets; 250 in each of the front trays and and then an additional 50 in the rear tray; making for 3 different paper sizes that you can have loaded into the printer at one time. Connectivity is also a highlight of this printer having wifi, direct wifi, bluetooth, USB, as well as ethernet, so there are lots of options. Just to note, this is not a small printer, but it prints and scans wide format so that is to be expected. Overall, this printer is an ABSOLUTE bargain at it’s asking price. Highly recommended!

    I'm sure the printer was just a lemon, it had many problems. I wanted to try another one but you didn't have anymore printers. So I returned it and bought another one from Office Depot. It would print portrait on one side of the paper and when I would turn it over it would print landscape. I wasted so much paper trying to make it work and it wouldn't.

    Garbage just like all Epson products I have owned. Always had connection issues and left print jobs in terminal loop doing nothing. Brought this back in less than 5 days.
