    I purchased this printer and the geek squad protection in FEB, but just had a chance to install it today. I had issues with it immediately after taking it out of the box and installing it. I reached out to geek squad and they were no help. they said they could install it for 79.99 (i had already installed it). I spent over 400 for a printer that won't work. Disappointing.

    Loved that I could print big things. But this printer is an ink guzzler. I have printed no more than 1000 pages. Mostly single sided and have had to change ink cartridges about 9 times. Returned it and ordered a differnet printer.

    Frustrated Small Business Owner

    This printer has been more than a headache. Every time there's a firmware update, something goes wrong and I can't use a function on my printer. Once I get that fixed, something else goes wrong. I run a small business out of my home, and use this printer daily to print labels for my products, but as of today, the paper feed just no longer works. 2-sided printing has never worked. This whole thing has been a nightmare.

    Wasted money, now they won’t let me return it.

    Product is very delayed when printing. I bought this product for a small business and only to print on cardstock. The printer worked great at first until a week after the time period to return it was over and now constantly gets paper jams. Very disappointed in Best Buy, I spoke with a sales person explaining exactly what I needed the printer to do and they recommended this printer. Biggest waste of money.

    My printer only printed blank pages!

    After getting this rather heavy printer home and setup It continued to just print blank pages. No matter what I did or tried, including running the maintenance nozzle cleaning/tests, everything that printed was just a blank page. Unless there is an invisible ink setting that I was unaware of and had turned on be default it appears I was just unlucky enough to get a defective printer.

    Don't buy this printer keep looking

    The chips on these are one time use it seems like the only feeder that works is the rear feeder the ink goes super fast and every five seconds Epson wants you to update. Do yourself a favor and DONT BUY THIS PRINTER. Best Buy is no help I've bought a few things from them and I'm not happy that I can't return this printer or even trade it in for a different one

    Not good printing quality

    We've had the printer for less than 2 weeks and the printing is horrible. When printing the quality is horrible and unless we print on high quality we can't even read the numbers it's printing. Color doesn't print without streaking. High quality printing is what I would consider standard and colors are not accurate. Interface appears nice with touchscreen but isn't great on the user side.

    If I could give it zero starts I would. Prior to this I had an Epson WF-840. It was great. Had it for over 9 years. Would still have it except that it stopped scanning. This WF-7840 is junk. I can't even list all the problems I've been having. In fact this is the second one I've had. I had to return the first one to Epson because it arrived broken.

    Once a good printer, latest firmware ruins it

    WARNING: This is actually a pretty good printer, but in early 2022 Epson updated its firmware so you cannot use anything but Epson brand ink cartridges. Make sure you are willing to pay the higher price for consumables before you buy this unit.

    Your sound bar is an absolute piece of garbage, which I wouldn't have minded, but you people designed it to be that way. Auto shut off on the sound bar is so infuriating, put auto turn back on if you're going to do that, I took it back. The fact that you designed it that way shows that you have zero respect for my intelligence. I will you never do business with you people again.

    I was very excited to make this big purchase since deciding to start my own business. It has printed about 100 pages, I’ve had to replace all the ink cartridges and now it’s saying the printer doesn’t acknowledge the EPSON brand cartridges. I’ve had it 7 months and isn’t getting better.

    Horrible Automatic Document Feeder (ADF)

    I don't know if I have a lemon, but this ADF is the worst I have ever used. All types of paper won't make it through without throwing an error. Deeply frustrating. This unit is a monster and I thought it would have what it takes, but...it sucks.

    This is the absolute best printer I have ever had the pleasure of using. I have owned many, many printers in my lifetime. From simple single tray feeds, to portables, to all-in-ones. Generally speaking, my experience with all-in-ones or multi-function printers has been less than stellar. Often when a printer tries to be a copier, printer, fax, scanner, etc. what seems to get lost in all of this is the print quality. Ironic isn't it? Well that is definitely not the case with this Epson Workforce Pro WF-7840. I will start by saying, this is a massive printer - and incredibly heavy. Don't expect to place this printer on the corner of your desk. This takes up a lot of space and is definitely not lightweight. That isn't a negative remark at all, just an honest statement. The overall build quality is solid. Hinges are tight and trays are snug but able to move freely. Quality materials, simple aesthetics, and well-designed. Setup was rather straightforward. I setup the wireless printing to a MacBook Air, Windows 10 PC, iPad Pro, and iPhone 12 all within 20 minutes. Setup is easily accomplished using the large 4.3" touchscreen display. During setup the printer is assigned an email address, which you can customize, to allow for printing while away from the network. Faxing works just you would expect. Nothing too spectacular to mention here. Scanning can be accomplished directly via the touchscreen, or via the apps. Images are clean and crisp, and there is integration with online storage. Printing is incredibly fast for black and white images. I tested several pages of standard text, along with BW images and received 22ppm, which is fantastic. Color printing is also faster than average. I received 10ppm. Of course depending upon the content of your print requests, settings, quality, etc. users will experience varying levels of speed and quality. So one feature this Epson printer possesses that many others do not is the ability to do wide-format printing, up to 13x19. Let me say, the print speed and quality of the wide-format print is stellar. Again, dependent upon what you are trying to print and other factors your experience will vary. Regardless, I do not think you will be disappointed. Overall, all aspects of printing have blown away any other printer I have ever used, and I've used many. Installing and changing the ink cartridges is easy and straightforward. I honesty don't know if Epson has a proprietary method of conserving ink, but I did seem to get a bit more mileage from the OEM cartridges than with other branded printers. I really cant say enough about this all-in-one. Epson has hit a home run. Full featured, all which work extremely well, amazing print quality, incredible speed, crystal clear scanning, and as expected fax capabilities make this the one and only machine for all your office needs. I would happily recommend this to family, friends, and co-workers. Strong work Epson!
