I work as a project manager in the construction industry which requires me to print off larger drawings on a regular basis. Before I was working from home most of the time, I was printing everything at the office. It was inconvenient when I needed something the night before and couldn't print it at home. This printer gives me that freedom to print 11x17's, 13x19's, etc. It is quieter than my old printer and seems to print with better quality at any size. From what I can tell after having it for a while, it conserves ink for the most part and has various settings to help you conserve even more which is a big deal to some people. I'm not too keen on the size and weight of the printer. It is quite a bit larger than what I've had in the past, but that's because it's for large format prints. Still, I was able to set everything up without help. The digital screen is large and easy to read. It gives you step by step instructions on how to set everything up and gives you plenty of settings and presets you can set. The copier is also very handy and has options to copy larger sizes as well. It is WiFi capable which is very handy for those that have multiple people using it. I would say that this all-in-one printer is geared more towards someone that owns a small business or someone like me who prints a lot of larger size documents. I would not recommend this to a student or someone that just needs a typical all-in-one. This is a business printer.

I switched from my old WF-7620 that the print heads got clogged and could not be recovered and these are my observations on the WF-7840. This new printer is much more compact while having the same capacity. It is smaller in length, width and height while having the same paper capacity. I love that it has two trays, I load one with letter size and one with ledger size. This is awesome, not may affordable printers have two trays and the ability to hold 11"x17" paper. The printing speed is faster and the quality is terrific. Images are razor sharp. The scan and copy functions also seems to work faster. The auto document feature works without issue. I'm bummed that it takes a new different ink cartridge as I'll have to order new replacements. I wish they could just stick with a common cartridge across the printers. One cool feature is that it has an automatic output tray, when you turn it on and print the tray extends to hold the prints and when you turn it off it retracts. The setup was easy and its simple to use interface with touch screen works well. The touch screen is responsive and fast. I did have an issue that it could not find my 5G wifi so I had to use the 2.4G wifi. I also notice that over wifi it is slow to start printing as there is a irritating delay. There is one feature that is missing on this printer, it does not have any ports for SD cards which I used to use with my old printer. Overall a great value and highly recommend if you need a printer that will use 11"x17" paper. I can't believe the price is only $299 for so much printer.

The printer prints quickly and scanning is good. However, the ADF flap is a little fragile and broke after a few months. Ink also gets used up a little fast and is not cheap. It is also a really heavy machine for women.

This is an absolutely awesome printer. It does crisp, clean printing. Pretty easy to set up. Works well with all of my device for easy printing. It is a little larger than I was expecting it to be, but a very good printer. It will replace all of my other printers. I am still trying out features. Would be great in a small office. Can’t go wrong with this printer.

Ea At to set up and use. Loading different size paper into the three different sources not intuitive but after a few tries it makes sense. Supplied cartridges must be larger than previous versions. Good color after thirty pages

I have been looking for a larger format printer/scanner and they are few and far between. Specifically finding a scanner that does 11x17. This one is great. Easy setup and prints fast and clean. I've even used the email-to-print function quite a bit which I didn't think I would when I first purchased it. The ink is a little spendy, but about 90% LESS than sending my prints to the local print shop. For the price this has far exceeded my expectations. Very happy.

Great printer but pricey ink cartridges

The Epson WorkForce WF-7840. This is a great home office or small business printer that does the work of printers 2-3 times its cost from the other guys. Setup was a snap. It took me all of 10 minutes to unbox, plug in, insert ink cartridges, set up the Wi-Fi, update the firmware and drivers, and connect it to my home computer. Now onto the unit. The WorkForce WF-7840 itself is huge; it will take up a large space on your desk area and according to the specs, clocks in at 45.4 lbs. Ventilation appears to be on the underside of the unit, so I avoided setting it on the ground and placing it back in a corner. The size is a con, however it still comes with a lot of great features: Two papers trays each with 250-sheet capacity, which can be customized for wide-format papers and printing, as well as a 50-sheet capacity rear tray. The touch screen on the front allowed me to navigate the various menus and options with ease. An auto-feeding tray on the top allows for quick 2-sided copying and scanning. Lastly, the unit printed black and white pages lightning fast (the specs say 25 ISO ppm), and color pages still pretty fast, and with excellent quality. Even the max format 13” x 19” was stunning. I made simple bar menus that looked vivid, professional, and printed the span of the entire page. With that having been said, the inkjet cartridges are a bit pricey. Epson’s website sells the replacements for ~$60, and there doesn’t appear to be any way to get aftermarket replacements or to refill the cartridges. I am going to be eating through ink cartridges printing in the wide format. I could really see this adding up; making the printer the “loss leader” for the inevitable ink cartridges you’ll have to buy. Overall, a great printer with great features, is easy to use, and quickly produces high-quality printed pages, but could end up costing you quite a bit in the long-run with the high-cost ink cartridges

    Amazing Printer--Easiest Installation Process EVER

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This was the EASIEST installation ever! I am not the most technologically-inclined user, however I become a master at the things that I need. I have just allowed the CD to set up every aspect of my printer. For the first time ever, I am using wireless connectivity....and intend to set up the APP on my I-phone and I-pad so that I can print remotely. The 13 x 19 printing ability is something that we look forward to using too. This will enhance our client presentations. The quality of standard printing looks remarkable, and I look forward to printing photos based on what I seen already. Very, very pleased!

    Fast and quiet printer

This printer is wonderful! It is very quiet and fast. The exit tray comes out automatically when you print, so it’s not in the way when you’re not using the printer. The first time I used it, I printed 100 sheets of labels with no problems. I make labels for soup mixes and jams that I sell at farmers’ markets, so I want them to look professional. The print was very clear. The rear paper tray is very easy to use. I would definitely recommend this printer.

This printer is really good and I love the fact that it prints extremely fast compared to my last printer! What I love most about it, is probably the most simplest thing, that is a dual side printer! I haven't had this feature in a long time, and it was surely missed. I love the fact that it has colorful and bright pictures as I use this printer to make flyers for a property that I'm listing. I also love how easy it was to connect to my Wi-Fi and started working right away! Another cool feature, is the way that you can connect it to Alexa. I didn't even know that it does this until my daughter was printing stuff using Alexa in are home. I thought that was really cool! I love the bright screen on this model, but I think it could have been a little bit bigger. This printer is definitely something you would want to have for a small office! The only thing I may be concerned about, is how long will the paint cartridges last before I have to buy new ones, but I truly believe that this printer is under priced for everything it does.
