Posted .The following will reduce false alerts:
- Give it time to learn and store common fixed location false alerts (for instance, automatic door openers at stores like Walgreens or CVS). It will take about 3 passes by them before the detector stores them. After they are stored you will no longer be audibly alerted to them.
- Be sure you have the latest firmware installed. Updating the unit is simple via Wi-Fi. Once connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot, the detector will prompt you to update the firmware should any updates be available. Use the Escort Live app to initially connect the detector to a hotspot. Afterwards the app is no longer needed to connect to this hotspot, the detector will automatically check for updates every time it connects to the hotspot.
