Do NOT purchase...constant false alerts
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you feel like paying top dollar for a worthless product then this radar detector is for you. I’ve owned other Escort radar detectors in the past and was very happy with them. However, this one is the worst (& most expensive) I have ever used. It goes off every time you are near a vehicle with lane assist and any store with automatic opening doors. I bought it to take on a 1000 family mile trip. I had 20+ false alerts in the first 15 miles. It got so annoying I ended up shutting it off and putting it in the glove box after 200 miles and over a 100 false positives. Everyone in the car was completely disgusted with all the false alerts. Come on Escort you can do better then this junk you pass off as your top of the line radar detector!!! Extremely disappointed. Returned it to Best Buy.

boots into endless firmware "Updating..." loop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Followed instructions to register on-line and connect unit with phone bluetooth and car WiFi. It wanted to update its firmware, and presented an "Updating..." message for over 10 minutes then parked car 12V shut off. Moved into house, hooked up to 12V permanent power supply, powered on and wanted to update via WiFi again. Started updating, screen went blank after 60 min. Touched power button, unit said "shutting down". Booted a third time on indoor 12V power supply, into firmware "Updating..." mode a third time. Looks like this unit is defective out of the box and can't update its firmware in a timely (< 1 hour) manner before a car in "accessory mode" or the unit itself times out.
