This is my second Passport. I love it. I have 2 vehicles I drive and I did not want to continue to move me beloved detector between the two. The value of this detector is pretty solid. It has a far enough range that you do not have to spend the extra money to buy the higher cost Escorts and Valentines.

Great product for the price. Love the 2nd mute. Get minor Interference from GPS which is positioned near the unit.

It either was defective or cops cracking down in my drive way. It did not turn off so I returned it. Took about 30 minutes for BB employees (plural) to find it in my purchase history. All around unpleasant.

I think the identification outweighs all of the false alarms, but for some reason (very random) the LASER alert goes off when I am in Austin near the Circuit of Americas...not sure what that is about. Great for night time driving!

This is a good radar detector but I wish I could have got the one with the voice. It is easy to use unless you start changing the configuration, otherwise is OK

I am so happy with this item that I actually have 2 of them. This works exactly how I want it to. It alerts me in plenty of time and helps me be aware if there might be something going on in front of me that I cant see.

Great alert system and I like the ability to mute the sound from the power cable plug.

Thought about the 9500 but this was just as good. Glad I went with this and saved the $.

I commute on average 550 miles per week back and forth to work. On the days I need to make time, the Passport 8500 alerts me to the areas where I need to be a little more cautious!

Bought this during black Friday weekend and saved some moneys on this model but I should have gone with the more expensive model such as the Escort 9500. The Escort Passport 8500 x50 red has so many false alarms especially when you drive by the gas stations or just a regular speed check set up on the side of the road to remind the drivers.

this is pure escort. quality, response time, signal definition. shoulda bought two more, one for each car. do not like using the old ones or changing this to another car

Used it straight out of box for 800 mile trip. Good distance on warnings. Did have a few laser hits that i could not find source. Replaced older model.

Saved my butt many times as I have had a family emergency requiring lots of travel in different states. Highly recommend unless illegal in your state.

Ive owned a couple of radars but this one is the best ive had so far works just great so accurate definitely recommend!!

Only this missing is the GPS but for me that is nothing I would need. Has the same radar as the GPS model just not $500.

I have had this detector on my car for three weeks now and I have avoided at least two tickets. I love the device and recommend it to everyone.

I have had a number of detectors before my first escort. Never looked back. This is my 3rd 8500. Never had an issue with them just have one in every car now.

Great Scanner. We bought it for a great price at Best Buy. Went on a trip and the scanner sounded alert long before we passed patrol car. Very happy.

It works great, but the power cord that comes with it is a bit short.

Purchased on sale which is a big plus, I liked it so much I purchased one for my daughter. love the silence button feature at the end of the cord.
