Seems to handle most instances.

It would be good if it could pick up residual laser energy from reflecting off of other cars. I have not seen that happen yet. Does not give as many false X band alerts as cheaper units.

Excellent Radar Detector

Notifies you when there's a police car even from approximately 2 miles away! Hasn't failed me yet...not that I need it, but it is definitely handy to have around. An all around fun "toy".

Great radar detector

I actually do not drive very fast but I use it to prevent from getting traffic tickets in case I accidentally go over the speed limit even if I do not intend to drive very fast. This new model has greater range than the older model so it will be better than the older one. I like to drive with the police radar detector on.

Good Mid Level Radar Detector

Everything about it screams quality, including the camera case, the provided cigarette lighter plug and the unit itself. Unfortunately for the money you spend, the suction cups literally and figuratively SUCK! Look into a sun visor clip or a permanent 3M taped mount. I don't recommend "Blendmount" because all that does is put the radar detector right in the way. This is a good alternative to the Escort 9500. You could add the Smart Live plug for $100 extra on the Escort 8500 (and save $200) and get the same functionality as the Escort 9500

A good detector . But Liked my Beltronics better

When it spoke the type of radar it detected never had to take your eyes off the road. The display is a little hard to read and the tones are not distinct enough. If I had it to do over I would buy another Beltronics.
