The wireless functionality is also a plus for many users. While some users mention battery life as a potential concern, the lack of monthly subscription fees is a significant advantage.

Eufy Cam 2 Pro 2K
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An almost perfect system, I also use an additional 3 1080 add-on cams and 3 RING cams as supplement surveillance to our home monitoring. (3 cams) The couple of issues I have with this system is it really has mediocre detection at best. Even with up to 3 detection zones, it sorta sucks. Also the app / network works intermittently. No matter if I run 2 cams or in this case 5. For my application, the 16 GB memory is more than enough. Not having to pay monthly is definitely a plus and it is an overall good value. Hoping for a long term return and solid use going forward. Eufy needs to address the app / home base issue / intermittent functionality. Hopefully, my home base unit isn't going bad on me.

Great Cameras
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every other brand charges for storage. And I mean EVERY other alternative that compares to these cameras, has a monthly charge for video storage. That is what ultimately made me decide on Eufy. Pay nothing monthly and had all the same features of other brands. Geofencing, human detection, zone control, etc... hands down the best option if you're not looking for a subscription. The ONLY con to these is that the cameras make a pretty loud audible click when switching to night vision and live view. I've had them for a few months now and don't notice it anymore but takes some time to get used to.

Workable when it works. But is it?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do tech of all sorts, and used to run security camera servers for a university. I have yet to see a really good security camera product on the market for my needs, meaning I don't have time to build my own system. Something that can withstand an Internet outage and a power outage is really expensive and in reality is a custom job. Eufy is trying with a little battery-powered wifi camera that's conserving battery by only turning on when it detects motion within a user-defined zone. And even with that if there's a lot of motion it's not going to last the year they claim. However, it's a reasonably good system except for a couple of fatal flaws and one massively fatal one. 1) The obvious privacy issues inherent in any subscription-model device like this. Police can get access to the videos if Eufy (=Anker) gives them up. Eufy doesn't publish transparency reports. 2) The cameras have to be relatively close in a wifi sense to the base station. In my case that means the base station had to be in a specific spot in the house to be able to talk to the front door and the back yard. 3) The cameras DON'T ALWAYS TRIGGER ON MOTION AND SOMETIMES SHUT THEMSELVES OFF. As in, you have to log-in to the application and put the camera in live mode to wake it up so it will trigger again. But this is intermittent, and seems to be rare, so it's really hard to troubleshoot. This last one is why I'm trying to get a refund, and why I've dropped the stars to one. If a camera doesn't trigger with a person walking in daylight right through the middle of the field of view and the middle of the defined trigger zone and you can walk back and forth and it doesn't trigger then why do you have a security camera? Even if it is something that can be fixed with a firmware upgrade that they push to the camera, how do I know that it was successful? How do I know that they don't push a bad firmware upgrade (like when Google pushes ones onto Google Wifi devices that locks them up and forces you to reset to factory default and reconfig them)?
