Q: Does the 2k cameras record the date and time? Does the batteries in the cameras last 365 days? Does it also take images or save images or just recordings if for example, I need to show the police images, videos with date and time of a robbery or break in?

A: It does show date and time. Battery life depends on many factors. I purchased USB solar panels which keep my cameras charged, so I don’t need to worry about battery life

Q: Are the batteries rechargeable on this unit? If not, how much are replacement batteries? Can more storage memory be added?

A: The batteries are rechargeable. They are built in, so when time to recharge, you just take camera down and plug camera in to recharge. Battery life should be 6 mos. up to 1 year depending on how you have camera set up to record. As far as memory storage is concerned, it is built in, and cannot be expanded, but is not a problem. Cameras do not record constantly, only record when triggered by movement. The built in storage is more than adequate, and if capacity is reached, newest files will over write oldest files, likely to be many, many months old, if not more. Video quality is excelllent, IMO better than equivalent Arlo model. Very satisfied with my setup.

Q: I purchased this Unit 2 days ago upon reading that after the Base is initialized with Ethernet Cord it may be "Switched" to Wireless. How is this done? I don't see anything in owners manual. I purchased under the assumption I could move the base Thanks!

A: Open your Eufy app. Scroll all the way down until you see your base. Click on the settings symbol next to the base image. You should see Ethernet as your connection. Click on that and you will see the option to switch to Wifi connection. Just follow the on screen instructions. It’s very simple. However, if you want a strong connection don’t go too far from your router.

Q: After initial set up, can you move the home base away from the router to another location in order to lessen distance issues with the cameras being outside? Or does the home base always have to be connected to the router through the ethernet cable?

A: This system does allow you to use it on wi-fi mode only, if desired to get closer connection with cameras. This may affect lag time however, depending on your amount of bandwidth available.

Q: Can someone please tell me what the maximum transmission range is from the NVR BASE to the Camera? I have 2 cameras that will need to be between 40 and 50 ft from the NVR base with 1 external wall (vinyl siding) and 2 internal walls. This spec is missing

A: It depends on so many factors that you really need to try it on your home network to find out. I know that’s not the answer you were looking for, but every house is different, so there is no reliable spec.

Q: Can this cameras be mounted on the ceiling, instead at the top of a wall? Will that allow for a good viewing angle?

A: No. I tried to mount it on a ceiling and I was not able to. The provided mount only allows a limited angle of movement. With a ceiling mount, you would need to aim the camera around 90°, but the mount doesn't allow that much angle. It is designed to be wall mounted, aimed almost straight ahead, and just angled slightly downward.

Q: WILL THIS SYSTEM WORK THROUGH AN ANDROID CELL PHONE? ALL I SEE IS APPLE

A: It works fine on my android phone and tablet.

Excellent... Exceptional... Ecstatic... Eufy!!!
What can I say... love my Eufy cams! I have full PoE cameras at my home, however, I needed something for a vacation property (about 2 hours away) where wiring was not an option. Also dealing with CC&Rs, so had to mount one of the cameras custom (see photo), using the black silicone sleeve. I was using Blink, which were okay, but there were several issues that made me want to switch to something better (slow response to no response, recording time limitations, poor video quality, etc...). Then I found Eufy. Did some research, seemed as good as Arlo without the stupid need for the cloud storage service (Eufy offers a cloud storage service but it is not required or needed). So I took a chance. The 2K Pro cameras are amazing. They are wide angle, which is not a problem for my application, just an FYI. The quality of the camera itself is incredible, very stout and well built. Battery life has been great. Features are excellent and growing. Setup was easy. Distance ability from the base unit to the cameras is exceptional. I am using the base unit wired, but after setup wired, the base can be switched to wireless if needed (like for better base unit placement). Overall I couldn't be more pleased, and I am very happy to not be paying a monthly fee! #GetEufy

Very happy!
Very happy! Does everything I expected and more. Easy mounting. Easy setup. The clarity of the camera is really good. Night vision is crisp and clear. Better than expected. The ability to customize how the cameras operate is awesome. Selecting active zones to prevent false alerts, as well as sensitivity level options. Awesome! I've had the system installed now for several weeks, and haven't had any issues. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fast, affordable, flexible solution for their home.

Big upgrade from 2c
I upgraded two eufy 2c cams. Like others have stated the biggest difference is at dusk and at night. Faces are way better too. On the 2c cameras I could tell when my friends and family were on cam but I couldn't pick a stranger out of a line up based off the video the 2c was pushing. the 2k cams are so much clearer! I can't comment on the battery life since I've only had them a few days but my 2c's used to last about 4-5 months so I'm hoping I get closer to a year with these. Overall happy with purchase. The only thing I don't care for with these is the night mode with the spot light. On the 2c you had an option to set it so that the spotlight comes on when motion is detected. With these it just has an "Auto Night Mode" which I haven't been able to get the spot light to come on or figure out if/when it comes on. Overall not a big deal though since I have motion activated flood lights next to the cams anyway.
