This is my first experience with a Eufy camera and I am quite impressed. Unlike my experience with other more expense brands the setup was flawless. The app is excellent (currently 4.5 in play store) and have many features. Memory is built in so one does not need cloud (this option is available at reasonable price). Good installation instructions (please follow carefully as intended to be hardwired to accept power). No battery backup but not something that an intruder could easily grab like a non installed camera. Wilde angle video quality very good, build quality excellent (like all Anker products). Does not have AI chip so currently do not get person vs animal vs motion.

    Amazing Smart Floodlight

This is one of those products that I didn't know I needed until I had it. Out of the box I was impressed with it - made from a strong plastic, it came with everything needed to install it (including a hanging hook so you don't have to hold it while wiring it). Out of the box, it comes "wired" with a plug, as you can set it up on the app prior to setting it up outside. I decided to set it up on the app before having it put outside. The app is really nice and notifies you when it is set off. I have this set up overlooking my patio and my dog is constantly setting it off. There are a lot of nice features about this smart floodlight - firstly, you don't have to have a subscription to keep video clips unlike some other smart home devices. Also, the app gives you the ability to turn the light on and use as a regular light, not just a motion sensor light. There is also a microphone so that you are able to talk to whomever may be setting the senor off; my children had fun with this feature and messing with our dog. Overall, this is a good floodlight; it's not overly sensitive but works well and has a decent range as to what will set it off. What really makes this a great product is the app and features that are accessible through the app. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a smart floodlight for their home.

When I found out the Eufy security floodlight was made by Anker I was happy to recognize a brand name I was familiar with. Having said that this security floodlight made quality. It comes packaged nicely. It comes attached to a power cord so you can plug it to the wall for setup before you actually install this to your desired area. Setup was a breeze I just connected it to my WiFi and download the app. After installing it to my existing driveway light I was good. The app is very intuitive and it doesn’t cost you extra for anything which is a big plus. Image is clear and notifications came to my phone. Basically everything that you want without the subscription like the other brands. So far I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a product like this.

An easy way to add a camera to house or business

The Eufy Security Floodlight Camera is a very simple way to add a security camera to the outside of your house or business. If you have WiFi, and already have a floodlight or a standard porch light, this is a very simple three wire install. It does almost everything you would expect a security camera to do, it has a very bright LED floodlight, and there are no subscription fees. The Eufy app is very easy to use, especially when setting up a new camera. Also a major thing for me is it has GeoFencing, which has works perfectly for me so far. Things I like: 1.) Ease of setup, easy to install. 2.) Bright LED floodlights. 3.) GeoFencing. 4.) No subscription fees for features that I consider standard. Things I don't like: 1.) It doesn't have "Smart Detection".

They weren't kidding when they said the next day's delivery. I order it around 8 pm and I had the Best Buy delivery guy knocking on my door at 10 in the morning. I really like this camera I already have one for a year, this is my second one. I like the fact that it saves its recording without a monthly subscription and the light is very bright.

Simple to install and no subscription required

The light is easy to install, particularly if you're replacing an existing, wired security light with a junction box. The setup with the app was extremely clear and simple. We're quite pleased with the quality of the camera and I love the idea of not getting nicked for a monthly subscription service. Highly recommend it!

Great for most people. You cannot use this with a browser. It also will not work locally only. You must have an active internet connection. The commands (to turn on and off the light for example) are not kept locally. The commands appear to be transmitted to Eufy servers then back down to your network to the camera. If you are watching live video via the app, and then lose your internet connection, the video and audio is still visible. But only if you do not close the app. I assume the authentication is done via Eufy servers so once you are authenticated you can still view the stream. However, the light button does not work. If you want something that also works offline, this wont do it for you. Some might be better off with a camera that supports rtsp. I will be returning it.

This floodlight malfunctions at night. Eufy knows.

If you decide to buy it, it will work fine during the day time but at night lol you're more safe in the hands of the cartel after you robbed them. Most folks (from forums and myself) actually just turn off the floodlight system at night because we have a greater chance detecting an intruder in the middle of our dreams at night. Here's the warning if you're still going to buy it. At night prepare for: - Lots of alerts. Lots! - You'll get an alert for everything right throughout the night, even the wind :( . So no it's not a thief in the night its just the wind or maybe it is a thief. Lol well you are still alive to read this review so the wind it is. Sensitivity settings or reboot wont fix this. - Motion light activated minimum 15 times throughout night - The floodlight will come on with no humans or movement of large objects at all outside (why? its detecting movement in another city, a leaf falling or a bug flying around the light). Oh btw sensitivity settings or reboot will NOT fix this either. - The camera will definitely not capture any criminal activity during the night - Because Eufy is so busy malfunctioning at night and coming on when it shouldn't, when there is an actual human in the yard or stealing your car, the camera wont even realize 'this is the motion that matters, record!'. It wont and as you've already guessed, the sensitivity settings or reboot doesn't resolve this either. Advice: Up your life insurance and emotionally detach yourself from your vehicle if this is the floodlight you're choosing.

Only lasted less than 3 years

I purchased my October 2020. As of August 2023, the flood light just blinks on and off. No connection to the app/internet. Eufy will not replace as it is out of the 1 YEAR warranty, and provided no insight as to how to fix it. If you want a camera that will last, choose another one.

Google/Alexa part of this device doesn't work

I'm rating this light as "fair." It still may be returned and I'll go with another Kuna/Maxximus light instead. My gripe, if you want it to work with Google/Alexa as a light (Hey Google, turn on the floodlight), you need to disable the floodlight motion sense in the app. Therefore, while now it will work with G/A, the lights will turn on off with G/A, it will NEVER turn on the floodlight if motion is detected at night. Note that if you do not disable the floodlight in the app G/A will turn on the light. However, once it detects motion, it will time out (on your preset time) and turn off. So, if you're trying to use it to illuminate an area, as soon as you walk by it the timer starts and when you come back with your hands full, it's off. IOW, there's no point in using G/A to control the light. Furthermore, they give you a Manual and a Motion brightness. Again, if you tell use G/A to turn on the light, it will go to the manual brightness. Once you walk past it it will go to Motion brightness. Totally making this a near useless feature. What it comes down to is this is really only a security floodlight with a camera. The Smart part isn't smart at all. My Kuna front porch light works as you would expect. Telling Google/Amazon to turn the light on overrides any automatic light control and turns the light on until you tell it to turn off.
