I had high hopes for this smart lock after reading about it in Consumer Reports. However, now that I have had it a few weeks there are many problems. The autolock does not work most of the time. I have it set to one second and it will not lock most of the time when the door is closed, even when I shut it firmly. I have also found that the autolock automatically turns itself off. I have read online that there is a conflict between the autolock and the schedule, so today I turned off the schedule to see if that helps....no luck! I have also found that while the door is standing open, sometimes the lock will activate, the dead bolt comes out, then when I close the door....well you know what happens. So this has put a dent into my molding around the door. It usually takes multiple times for the bio-ID to recognize my fingerprint. Also, when my autolock is not working, sometimes I will open my app and the app says that it is locked when it isn't. I have found that I must close the app and reopen it for it to show the lock's true status.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We're really sorry you've encountered this issue!
Please know that the auto-lock feature only works after you close your door or the door remains at the door frame. Make sure your door is closed by the time you enable the auto-lock option of your smart lock. 1. Close the door to calibrate, check the front lock key cover is covered to ensure successful calibration. 2. Turn on the auto-lock function. If it has been enabled, please disable it and enable it again. Please select a locking timer at any time you want and then select the desired time. For example, I set the lock to auto-lock at 1s, I first set it to 1min and then set it back to 1s. 3. The above settings are complete, please open the door and then close to see if the locking time is in accordance with the scheduled settings. 4. If not, please manually lock the door, and then open the door and close it to see if it is locked according to the scheduled setting time.
If those don't help, please reach out to us via [email protected] or call us at +1 (800) 988 7973. We are more than happy to assist you further.

I consider myself a tech guru. I am usually on top of the latest tech and read tech news daily but I have never heard of Eufy until now that I got to try their product. I owned two smart locks before getting the Eufy, one is Z-wave technology and the other one a Yale Wi-fi. I am very very impressed with this smart lock not just because of the outstanding built quality but the fingerprint reader. If you're like me who just heard about this product, it is a smart lock that works over Wi-fi and can be unlocked via app, fingerprint, keypad and also hard key. This product came in very nicely packed. Installing the hardware took approximately 15 min and that's because I had to replace the strike plate, the one included is longer than the one I originally had.
It is so easy to install that the manufacturer actually labeled each item in numeric order and the included manual was very easy to follow. One thing to mention the actual lock itself is big (taller) compared to my other two but that didn't bother me at all. Before using the lock you have to charge the included battery, mine took about 3 hours to fully charge. According to the manufacturer the battery can last up to 1 year before the next charge. That being said, once a year the smart lock will be nonoperational for a few hours.
My experience with the smart lock was exceptional especially with the fingerprint reader. That thing works so fast I practically just tapped my finger on it and it will unlock/lock the door immediately. Another great feature is that you can register multiple fingers just like you do on smartphones. The numeric pad also was easy to use, you first need to wake up the screen by tapping on it and then you enter the code and hit the checkmark button to lock/unlock.
The app is simple to use as well and there you can find additional features such as adding guests to allow them to use the lock. If this thing runs out of battery no problem, you can use the traditional key that’s included to open it, or just boost it open using the micro USB socket on the bottom of the lock. To use the regular key you have to twist open the metallic plate that covers the keyhole. It was a little hard to get to open at first but with practice I got better at it. The cover gives the uniformity look and it sticks shut with magnets. Using the key was a little weird and that’s because you actually have to turn the key in circular mode to lock/unlock and then bring the key back to it’s starting position to take it out. It is not like regular keys where you just twist left and right.
This smart lock will work with Google Assistant, Alexa and is compatible with Apple Homekit. I have it setup with google assistant and it works like a charm. This lock has a built in speaker that will make sounds and voice prompts when locking or unlocking the door. This lock is a great addition to my smart home and a big step up from my other to smart locks. It’s a little pricey but to be honest the great built quality and the technology that’s being added to this lock is worth the price.

INSTALLATION
This Eufy Smart Lock is replacing my existing smart door lock from Schlage. Like my Schlage, installation was simple and well thought out. I had zero issues and total installation time was about 30 minutes. It could have easily been accomplished quicker, but I tried to follow the instructions and accompanying document step-by-step to see just how thorough Anker (Eufy is a product of Anker) was. Anker was impressively thorough. A person with nothing more than a couple of screwdrivers can easily change out their existing door lock for the Eufy. Instructions are methodical and well organized. A super nice feature is that Anker has included parts in several boxes, all with numbers. The intention is that the homeowner starts at box 1 and works their way through to the last one. Each box includes the parts necessary to complete the next step in lock installation. While I didn’t need to use parts from every single box, I must give major kudos for this approach. It is an excellent presentation and execution. Other manufacturers should take note. Well done!
This lock has been updated to include wi-fi versus just Bluetooth like its predecessor. The lock will switch seamlessly between the 2 communications protocols during installation and during operation. I had some issues during a firmware update and wi-fi dropped. Without issue, my phone automatically switched over to Bluetooth allowing me to continue using the lock and its features. Sweet! The lock will require a wi-fi connection in order to send notifications and use its remote features when the user is outside the home. This is one of the first smart products that I’ve installed that picked up my wi-fi and connected without issues. What a welcome breath of fresh air!!! Even though my home network broadcasts the 2.4G and 5G bands with the same SSID, it proved to be a non-issue for my Eufy. This is something that I cannot say about my Schlage, which put up a tremendous fight.
I also appreciate the fact Anker chose to use a rechargeable battery with their Eufy Smart Lock. My old lock used 4 AA batteries for power. Those batteries lasted approximately 3 months with moderate use. Anker claims an estimated battery life of 1 year if you connect their Smart Lock to wi-fi. Wow! If so, that will drastically lower the overall cost of ownership. Granted 4 AA batteries installed 4 times a year isn’t a fortune, but it is an additional and reoccurring expense. The fact that the Eufy’s batteries are rechargeable and have to the potential to last 4x longer is great. I don’t feel the need to have to check the lock every few weeks to make sure there is enough reserve left to keep the lock going for family members.
EUFY APP
The Eufy Smart Lock uses the same Eufy Security app that Anker’s other products use. The Eufy Security app is clean and decently designed. During testing, I always try to use both the iOS and Android versions of the vendor’s app to see how they compare and most importantly, see if the company is committed to providing the same great user experience on one platform as the other. In this regard, Anker excels. Both apps function consistently and reliably on both platforms. Notifications are quick and general navigation and settings are usually intuitive and easy to find.
My favorite feature of the Eufy app is the notifications. Like I stated earlier, notifications to my Galaxy smartphone or iPad are nearly instant, where, at times, my Schlage would lag in its notifications. Whether the Eufy is locked or unlocked with a fingerprint or a preassigned 4 – 8 digit numeric code, the app not only tells you the lock was locked or unlocked, but also by which user. The notification system has functioned flawlessly.
PERFORMANCE
This is my first Eufy Smart Lock and to date, it has performed impressively. While it has some quirks compared to my Schlage, it is not any form of a deal breaker. To be fair to Anker, the same could be said about my Schlage. It has some quirks compared to my Eufy.
The absolute best feature of this lock is the fingerprint scanner. Eufy stores fingerprints on an encrypted chip in the lock itself. Anyone that uses the Apple fingerprint scanner on their iPhone or iPad will instantly feel at home with this scanner. Fingerprint enrollment takes 8 separate scans and saves them to the lock. However, unlike my iPhone and iPad that take about a second or so to read my print, the Eufy is nearly instantaneous. The lock reads and responds so quickly, I honestly thought at first it was defective. So I tried to different finger than what I had enrolled and sure enough, it didn’t open. My print was unrecognized. The speed at which this lock can read and respond to prints is excellent!!
ISSUES
There are only 2 issues with this lock that I can think of:
The first, and most significant issue is the poorly functioning firmware update process. Upon installation, the Eufy Smart Lock required 2 immediate firmware updates. During both updates, the smart lock stopped responding and updating at 99% completion. After letting the app remain open and running for at least 5 minutes, I finally had to pull the battery each time to manually reboot the lock. Each time, the lock retained the stored users’ information, but lost its connectivity to my wi-fi network. I had to go in and manually reprogram the device. Eventually, the firmware update did show successful, but not without a couple of moments of anxiety wondering if the unit had bricked itself during the update process.
The second complaint is just really me being picky. I don’t like the size of the lock on the inside of the door. Admittedly, I like that the Eufy is very slender. My Schlage was much thicker, but because of this, the Schlage was almost half the size of the Eufy in length. The Schlage looked sleeker and much less pronounced than the Eufy because of its smaller size. The issue involves the decision by each manufacturer on where to place the batteries. Schlage put their batteries behind the locking mechanism, making the unit smaller overall. Anker chose to put their removable battery pack directly on top of the locking mechanism, make the unit not as thick, but increasing the overall length of the Eufy substantially.
CONCLUSIONS
This is an excellent product. In my opinion, Anker has yet another innovative and well-designed product offering. Simple and thoughtful touches abound. Small things like numbering the boxes in order of installation, to providing a back-up micro USB slot to provide power to the unit should the rechargeable battery die (an old school key is also included should worst come to worst) make this truly appealing to the end user. I can say with first hand experience that this is something my equally priced Schlage smart lock did not include. If its AA batteries died, it died. The many thoughtful features, ease of installation, well thought out app, and overall performance of this product easily earn this a 5 star rating with me.

Everything A Smart Lock Should Have

--- SETUP ---
The setup for the Eufy smart lock requires some knowledge of door knob installation. Downloading the app first gives you access to a short, easy to rewatch and follow video with step by step instructions. All screws are included and I just used a screwdriver to get the installation done.
--- FEATURES ---
The key features include multiple ways to unlock your door (fingerprint, via app, keypad, key), WiFi to control from anywhere, autolock, all weather protection, voice-assistant compatible, and an emergency unlocking feature if it runs out of battery while you’re out.
--- PERFORMANCE ---
The performance of this lock is hands down the best I’ve experienced. This is my third smart lock. The previous ones, though they served their purpose well, always left me wanting a feature or two that I think would improve the experience. Eufy seems to have taken notes and created a one-solution for all your smart lock needs. First of all, I don’t need to pull out my phone to unlock my door. My finger is my key, and I always have my fingers. The fingerprint is recognized rather quickly and I can use it to both, lock and unlock my door as I leave or arrive. You can also have multiple fingerprints saved on various profiles. I programmed 3 fingers, 2 from one hand and 1 from the other, and I set up my wife with her own fingerprints. I tested the keypad just to see how quickly it recognized the # and it works immediately as well. I was able to set up 3 different 8 digit numeric codes, one for me, one for my wife, and one for a person who will take care of my cats while on vacation. Because of this, it keeps a nice detailed account of who is entering the house using what code as well as failed attempts and the time stamps the attempt was failed.
--- EXPECTATIONS ---
The product exceeded my expectations. The lock looks hightech without being an eyesore on the door. One of my grievances for smart locks is that I need to keep buying batteries as they eventually run out. This lock has a rechargeable battery that takes 6 hours to charge. If you get a notification that the battery is low, all you have to do is recharge it overnight and not deal with the hassle of forgetting that you need batteries for your lock. With voice-commands, I had no issues telling my phone assistant to open my door, though I use my fingerprint more often because it makes me feel like a secret agent.
--- VALUE ---
The price for the smart lock in terms of value is great, considering that it received a BHMA Grade 2 Security Certification, meaning it has been tested to lock and unlock 250,000 times, or an equivalent of 67 years if you lock and unlock it 10 times a day.
--- APPROVAL ---
I highly recommend this product for people who want the convenience of a smart lock without the hassle of dealing with apps on a regular basis.

Solid Build Quality and Quick Operation
The latest model of the Eufy - Smart Lock Touch and Wi-Fi is as complete as they come. From the moment you open the box, you can tell how much attention to detail and quality Eufy put in designing and refining earlier versions of this smart lock. Everything is intuitively labeled in the order of the installation steps to guarantee a successful installation by customers of any skill level, using only a Phillips screwdriver. The Eufy is different from other brands in that it actually replaces the whole dead-bolt assembly, so if you still want to use a key, you’ll have to use the unique ones that come with it. Not that big a problem since it comes with 5 keys that are probably nearly impossible to duplicate, so more secure. Again installation was very straight forward, you can even watch videos on-line or just follow the easy step by step instructions - it only took me about 20min, but I did not get to enjoy it right away cause I was still charging the 10,000 mAh Lithium battery that comes pre-charged to only about 30%. It is supposed to last up to a year on a full charge under normal operating conditions - impressive - though time will tell. Now for a quick list of Pros and minor Cons:
PROs:
* Multiple ways to lock/unlock: Fingerprint, PIN, iPhone or Android phone App that works via both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, physical key, Alexa or Google Assistant
* I would like to emphasize the fingerprint functionality as it impressed me the most - it is super-responsive, I’d say under one second, I wish my smartphone unlocked as quickly. Once you register your fingerprint 8 regions, it works like a charm. You can register multiple fingerprints for you and your whole family.
* You can register multiple 4-8 PINs for you and other people you want to allow access, and the various PINs can be activated/deactivated on a schedule.
* Huge capacity 10,000 mAh lithium battery that should last up to a year before the next charge. The App should warn you when it’s time to recharge it. Another cool feature, there is a hidden micro-USB power port accessible from outside that you can use to power the lock if need be.
* Automatic door-locking option thru the App once you closed the door behind you
Notifications and audit logs in the App when the door is locked/unlocked and by whom
* Solid drill-proof metal casing
* Waterproof IP65 rating that will withstand the elements
* Lighted touchpad that wakes-up at the touch so you can enter the PIN
* Built-in Wi-Fi, so you don’t need any additional “bridge” hardware
* Audible chimes and clear voice messages informing you of the status of the lock or issues trying to lock when there is an obstruction to the bolt, such as then the door is not closed all the way
* Firmware update for bug fixes was easy to do right from the App and only took a couple of minutes
Minor Cons:
* Replaces your dead-bolt and keys, so you must use their proprietary key; in my case, that will be an extra key on the key-chain, as I had matching keys for front door, back door and garage/basement door.
* The PIN lock/unlock is not the most intuitive, I actually had to read the manual. It would be nice if it would just automatically unlock once you’re done entering the PIN, instead of requiring an extra key pressing and holding for a couple of seconds.
* Only one color available
All in all, I am very impressed with this lock and would recommend it to friends if they don’t mind replacing their existing deadbolt and key.

I am extremely impressed with my Eufy Smart Lock Touch & Wi-Fi deadbolt. It started when I picked the box up and realized that this unit had the heft that I associate with a serious security product like a door lock.
It continued when I opened the box. Everything you need is included and the inside is divided up into numbered sections that match the included instructions.
The only hiccup I encountered was that I initially installed the wrong app on my android phone - make sure that you download the Eufy SECURITY app or you won't be able register your device which is the critical first step to completing the device configuration and setup. Unlike many other "smart" products that I own this one immediately connected to my home Wi-Fi and everything about the configuration process just worked.
I removed my existing deadbolt and completed the physical install in about thirty minutes. All of the necessary hardware is included and the step-by-step instructions were very easy to follow.
I now have an Internet connected front door entry system that allows me to use the illuminated keypad, or the fingerprint reader, or the smartphone app, or my Google smart speaker to lock and unlock my door! It even keeps a log of all of the lock/unlock events.
If you are even mildly interested in a security solution for your entry ways, you owe it to yourself to a look at Eufy's Smart Lock Touch & Wi-Fi door lock.

Bought this for ease of access to house and its been working great so far bought it 14 days ago, charged the battery same day about 5 hours of charging didnt fully charged it and it says it has full bar of battery still. The fingerprint is good as long as your finger is clean, keypad works fine, havent used the key yet(comes with 5 keys). Very easy to install. Im happy i didnt have to drill any holes to make room for it.
Cons:
-sometimes when you manually unlock and lock the door, the app would think its unlocked but in reality its locked. It makes problems if someone comes in using the fingeprint the sounding alarm "deadbolt might be blocked. Try again" will alarm and its pretty loud. But if you use the fingerprint again itll unlock normally. You can also fix the showing unlcked problem by manually unlocking and locking again. This usually happens every other day for me.
-auto-lock. The app has a feature for auto unlock where you can set a timer for it to lock when it becames unlocked. I find this pretty useless though since It dosent have a door sensor so itll auto lock even if the door is open.
-i got the one with a rechargeable battery, but i wish you could buy another battery pack so you can just pop one in while the other charges. But the battery seems to last a while so not too big of a problem
-no battery percentage, it justs shows bar of battery.
Depsite the cons im happy with my purchase, just heads up make sure you buy a correlating door handle as well if you want it to match colors. I had a bronze door handle and it didnt look good with the black eufy. So i bought a matching door handle which added $100 more

Works well most of the time. Automatic timed lock fails to try about 1 out of 30 operations (daily) . So, verify it has locked when you need it locked. It unlocks very fast from fingerprint. Sweating or wet fingers will cause it to not read the print. Does not use replaceable batteries. Charging adapter will be needed when it gets low. Open and close notification to the cell phone occur within 5 seconds wherever I am. Easily 20 times better than the smart lock it replaced. Being able to go through the lock and unlock events on the app help identify activities. If there is an unlock without a corresponding lock (auto or manual) then you can use the app to lock it while traveling. The notification helps as well. If you don't hear both notifications within a minute or depending on your time out, then you can lock it remotely. Over all, it is a great item. I did not get the video door bell or camera to go with it as I already have a system. But, it will integrate with its own system and a couple of other doorbell cameras.

Installation was pretty straight forward. I did have to use a chisel and enlarge the cutout for the strike plate but that was no big deal. The app is easy to use and so far has been reliable. The app doesn’t allow you to only schedule the deadbolt to lock at a specific time of day but it will allow you to schedule times of day when you want it to remain locked and remain unlocked. I only wanted a schedule so I could ensure that the lock was engaged by 9pm if it wasn’t already locked. I added the device to Google home and got it to do what I was looking for. The fingerprint reader isn’t that reliable for me with the onset of winter and dry skin as a result, but that’s no different than any other fingerprint reader devices I’ve used before. I still have the option of entering a code or using the app to unlock the door so I’m still happy with it.

Eufy has thought of everything. Easy installation - much easier than the Schlage smart lock I used previously. And everything works perfectly! The lock can be operated with fingerprint, keypad, key or by voice with Alexa.
BestBuy has the latest version of the lock; built-in WiFi. Another new feature is a rechargeable battery pack rather than four individual batteries as in previous versions.
Eufy support is great! I had a problem with Alexa integration, and Eufy provided a firmware update in less than a day.
I'm really happy with this fellow.

I have a Eufy lock with camera for my front door, I bought this for my garage. Same rock solid build, easy to use and set up. Battery lasts forever, I have only charged it once since I bought it and that was the day that I installed it. It came with a bunch of spare keys, everyone has a code and fingerprint access. It makes life so much easier.

Nice lock, easy to install and setup. The device is made well and feels sturdy
Cons- The software doesn't really have to many options. Then again I don't really have anything to compare it to. I have two of these front and back door. The max setting is three minutes before it auto locks. This might seem long but when you get home to unload your groceries depending on the time it takes to get your stuff from the car to the house it might lock on you. That's where the finger print comes in. Another example would be if you're BBQ I have to disable the auto lock because if you don't its going to drive you crazy unlocking each time going in and out the house These might only be my problems you might have a better experience. Before buying i would think about what you do when you get home and see if it fits.

Like many others have stated this unit checks all the boxes: wifi capable, fingerprint reader, code, long battery life, physical key. Up until now there was always something holding me back from getting one of these whether it was a feature missing or poor reviews. This unit answers the bell. It took me about 30 minutes to install but now that I've done it once I could probably do it again in 10 minutes. I like this so much I think I'll get my mom one for xmas!

Physical Installation: As easy as installing a regular door lock
Software Installation: eufy Security hardware always has a simple software installation. In this case it was quicker to setup than actually installing the door lock
Ease of Use: Again eufy Security software is super simple to use. It will let you know everything that is happening with the door lock. Which is only lock and unlock but also if you use codes or fingerprints it will let you know who's codes/fingerprints were used to unlock
Con: I really don't have one after a month of use. We have a 4 person household and I haven't heard a complaint yet about the lock not working properly

Hesitated for a long time to buy this, but so glad I did. We have a Eufy RoboVac and was happy with it, so thought I'd give this a try. VERY easy to install. For some reason the deadbolt was SLIGHTLY too big for the hole already in the door. It was the same size as the old one. Was able to ream it out a little, then all fit perfectly. The lock comes packaged with numbered boxes so you just grab out what you need as you get to each step. No trying to figure out what screws you need for that step, just open "step x" box, and all is there. I installed the lock while I charged the battery, and the hardware went in easy once I got the hole big enough. The software part was FLAWLESS. Once I put the battery in, I had it up and running in no time. The finger print reader works FAST. The door is unlocked by the time I reach down from the reader to the door knob. We also love that it locks from 1 second to 3 minutes after the door is shut. I have it set to 30 seconds and it works 100% of the time. I have a keyless entry on my car and wanted on for the house. Now I don't have to have anything but the keyfob for the car. The code entry works fine as well, but the finger print reader is WAY faster and more convenient. VERY happy with this lock and will put Eufy at the top of choices for any future products they make that I might need/want.

I use Eufy security system throughout my home, even have a Eufy robovac.
This Smart Lock is amazing. I've had it a little less than a year and the Smart features have already been used countless times.
Finger Print & Code - The finger print technology is advanced & reads correctly 99% of the time. The Eufy app allows the admin the grant access using a custom code to anyone either full time, or during a specific window. This has feature comes in handy for house sitting, pet sitting, or even when a friend needs to come pick something up when you're not home.
Battery - The battery lasts close to 6-8 months (depending on use). It's quick to pop out and charge for the next 6-8 months. The lock will still function as a regular lock when the battery is not powering it.
Installation - It was a little difficult to install, but that's because my package was missing the bolt plate for my specific door (only reason this didn't get a 5-star review).
General Thoughts - Highly recommend spending the money if you are considering your options. Go with quality and higher price than cheaper options.
