Customers are pleased with the excellent camera quality and ease of use of the Smart Wi-Fi Dual Cam Video Doorbell. Many appreciate the local storage option eliminating subscription fees, and find installation straightforward. However, some users note inconsistent motion detection and that the battery life requires periodic charging. The larger size of the doorbell compared to other models was also mentioned as a drawback by a few customers.

Unboxing, setup, and doorbell installation are a breeze. Mounting hardware includes screws, wall anchors, wire extensions with wire nuts, and a mounting bracket with optional wedge to mount the camera at a 15-degree angle. The Homebase 2 is simple to set up using the clear instructions provided in the app. An AC adapter and Ethernet cable are included; for initial setup, it must be plugged into your router. Use the included USB cable to charge the doorbell. It can be charged from the base station or another plug-in USB charger you might already have. Pairing the doorbell to the Homebase 2 is prompted via the app and is push-button simple. Doorbell battery life is rated at 6 months. I was pleased to discover that the doorbell can be connected to my existing wiring, so my mechanical chimes still work as they always have. The wired connection also eliminates the need to remove the doorbell for charging. The doorbell functions as expected when the doorbell button is pressed. The eufy Security App promptly delivers notification of a person detected at the door, and it also displays a thumbnail of the images captured on the dual-camera unit. Tapping on the event loads and plays the captured video. Video quality is great, even in low light. The 2K resolution produces a clear image with accurate colors. This is an obvious upgrade from my old camera. Person detection is quick and accurate. False alarms have been a regular issue since I have started using video doorbells. Cars passing on the street and neighborhood wildlife used to be common false triggers. The eufy Security 2K Dual Cam Video Doorbell with Chime uses a combination of infrared and radar sensors along with impressive AI, and so far my false alarms have stopped. When a person is detected, two downward-pointed bright white LEDs illuminate; this signals the person approaching that they’re on camera and also lights up the porch in front of the door. The doorbell has a couple of standout features that really set it apart. First is facial recognition. The software does a good job of detecting faces, and notification thumbnails include a close-up of the face. Of course, results vary with lighting conditions and the subject’s speed/angle of approach, but so far I can tell at a glance who is at the door. The second big feature is the addition of a 1080p downward-facing camera. It clearly displays the porch floor right in front of the door that other doorbells miss. The app tells you that a package has been delivered. It notifies you if someone approaches the package. If necessary, it will also send you pick-up reminders at a time of your choosing. I have not tested it, but documentation indicates that there is also available loitering detection. If someone lingers too long in the detection zone, the app can be configured to play a voice message to the person and also alert you. Sounds like a cool feature! My only negative comment about the eufy Security 2K Dual Cam Video Doorbell with Chime is that the onboard storage is fixed at 16GB; while this is probably plenty to store at least a month’s worth of activity, I would appreciate at least the option to expand storage. If you want to preserve or share video, the eufy Security App makes it simple to download and archive or share events. I am thoroughly impressed by the quality of materials used on the doorbell. It exudes quality, and it is a nice addition to the front of our home. Overall, I am very impressed with the performance eufy Security 2K Dual Cam Video Doorbell with Chime (Battery) and recommend it without hesitation. It is superb!

Since first using a eufy camera it has been my preferred brand for security cameras. In my opinion they offer the best compromise between price, features, ease of use/setup and no monthly fees. This dual cam video doorbell continues that but it’s not without its shortcomings. Like all eufy cameras setup is simple and straightforward, easy enough that even those that are technology challenged shouldn’t have a problem. Plug in the base station, connect it to your router, scan a few QR codes and you’re up and running. Being battery powered the doorbell gives you flexibility of where it can be placed if you don’t have existing wiring for a doorbell. If you do have doorbell wiring the the unit will keep the batteries topped off so no need to remove it periodically to charge. Being a battery powered doorbell, it has the normal compromise compared to a wired. That being the back of the head syndrome or no detection. This happens because the slight delay from when motion is detected and the camera cuts on to record. This is only an issue if someone or something is moving fast, say an animal or a delivery person. At the opposite end of the spectrum, if you want it to detect animals like a slow old cat, it won’t do that. We feed a neighborhood cat and I was hopeful that the down facing camera would detect it when it was at the door but it doesn’t. When it does detect and record events you have nice clear video especially with the main camera. The software allows a lot of customization for motion detection over my other eufy doorbell, though some of the features I haven’t seem much benefit from yet. The package detection features are very useful though, you can choose to get notifications for an uncollected package, package guard and package live check assistance. It would be nice for eufy to add pet detection to their doorbell cameras, like my wired eufy camera has. Overall, eufy has delivered another great product in their ever expanding home security solutions. The few compromises are far outweighed by the positives of being able to control your own video footage with local storage, no monthly fees, etc. etc..

--- SETUP --- Installing the eufy Security 2K Dual Cam doorbell will require you to use a power drill, wipes (to clean surface area of installation), the download of the eufy app, and know-how to plug the base to a router using the included ethernet cable. A helpful 5 minute video is available if you haven’t done any of the above before. --- FEATURES --- No monthly fees, human/animal/package detection, various chimes on doorbell and at base, dual camera for full body recording and package drop-off confirmation, snaps of faces, and Alexa integration. --- PERFORMANCE --- Doorbell: The doorbell itself looks slick. I had no problems with the installation. Since I don’t have wiring to my door, I installed this using the rechargeable battery that is preinstalled. Within the app, I can see how much battery is left before it uses a charge. The battery comes pre charged at 80%, but it is recommended that you fully charge it before first use. The doorbell button is clear to press and creates a sound for visitors to hear while the base inside your home will make a sound of its own. The base sound was loud enough for me to hear from another room while watching TV at higher than normal volumes. On top of that, the app sends you notifications immediately as soon as someone rings the bell or walks by the cameras. In the dark, two lights will turn on to better illuminate visitors. You can adjust the settings in the app to determine what area the camera should ignore and how frequent you get notifications. Since using a battery will require you to eventually recharge it, eufy included a pin that you can use to remove the doorbell from its base and reconnect with ease. App experience: The app was a quick download. You must first install the base by plugging in the power and an ethernet cable to the base. A blue light will flicker letting you know it's ready. AFter that, follow the onscreen instructions and you are set. Using the app itself was relatively easy. There’s a section to change your chimes, presets to choose from for how long the camera should record, and you can also create a custom length. The middle setting, which is to record occasionally but not all events is what was recommended by the app. For the purposes of review, I changed it so that every single event is captured. The app did a great job at telling me the strength of the WiFi as I was moving the camera. Turning on the live feed works great and doesn’t get stuck loading like I experienced with a different brand. The app allowed me to quickly download a video to my phone as well as take a snapshot of the activity happening. --- EXPECTATIONS --- This is my second eufy product, the first being a fingerprint door bolt. The bolt made me happy and this doorbell is making big strides in encouraging me to seek out more eufy products. I love the ability to communicate with visitors even if I am away from home. Another feature I didn’t expect is that you can leave automated, pre-recorded messages for those walking by. This includes leaving a “scary,” message for package thieves that will auto-play after you record it in the app. --- APPROVAL --- If you don’t want to fuss around with wiring a doorbell, this battery powered doorbell is a great solution. I highly recommend this product for those looking to improve their peace of mind and catch those package thieves in the act.

This camera looks good. It's a little longer than other ones but that's because of the second camera. Set up is easy sw wise. Press a couple buttons and scan the QR code and you're connected and setup. Physical install is another story. I screwed mine into wood and the screw heads are trash. The heads stripped so quickly and easily it was frustrating. You'll want to pilot hole or just get your own screws The picture is insanely clear, both for the person camera and the package camera. You can set up seperate activity zones for each camera and an ignore. This is really handy because I have cats that like to wander by and I can make sure they don't trigger it Unlike other door bells, this doesn't need a chime kit. It will use your mechanical existing bell and/or the home base. You can customize the chime as well which is handy, especially if you have multiple entrances. Be good to tell you which door is going off

We replaced another brand of video doorbell with the Eufy Dual Camera Battery doorbell. Our interest was piqued by the idea of the new Eufy doorbell having dual cameras and no subscription service required. Among things included in the package is the doorbell itself and a homebase unit that connects to one’s router. The HomeBase 2 was easy to connect to the downloaded Eufy app, but we did run into a bit of a hiccup when we proceeded to the next step to add the doorbell itself as a device. After contacting Eufy support I think it was just a timing issue related to a firmware update and our ability to scan the QR code to add our particular unit/serial # as a device. The positive is that Eufy support was very easy to get ahold of and took care of the issue promptly. Once we tried to add the device again it was a very smooth, straight forward process. We installed the doorbell in the same location as our previous doorbell and had no issues hard wiring the doorbell to the existing wires and we chose to use the included mounting wedge to capture the ideal range of coverage for our installation. For those that are renters or don’t have existing wiring available it is great that this doorbell includes the battery and as stated will hold 6 months’ worth of charge. When charging is needed simply use the included tool to detach the doorbell face to connect it to the HomeBase 2 via cable to charge. For families it is nice that the app has sharable features to allow others to access the devices via the Eufy app as an Admin or a Guest. We have been pleased with the 2K HD video quality and the accuracy of the notifications informing us of a human or pet event, or a package being delivered. One can watch live video to see a split screen or picture in picture video from the dual cameras. Audio is available so one can speak to anyone outside our door without having to open the door first. We have not tried the Family-Recognition feature that will use the AI capabilities to recognize family members and not send notifications. Personally, I like getting a notification when anyone is approaching the door and I don’t find them to be a nuisance. The Package Protection feature is interesting and helpful since it specifically recognizes package deliveries and will send a notification accordingly. In looking at one’s video events in the app it will list human delivered and human pick-ed up to show package events. Reminders are also sent if a package is not picked up. We’d recommend the Eufy Dual Camera Battery doorbell since it checks the boxes for ease of installation, quality product, nice video quality and no subscription requirements.

I was wondering how much that second camera would help with my experience and i have to say i am impressed! How nowadays we have everything delivered to our front doors it really solves the package monitoring problem while keeping the focus on the persons they come close to it too. The product seems solid , easy to instal and it’s a good improvement from the previous in case you think to upgrade! I have the old version wich i like but i gotta say i love the new one. It comes with a hub that will store more then enough footage and acts like a chime too. Motion detector is even better now, not to mention the DualCamera and all of this for one time charge…NO Subscription…. As it should be!

I’m getting used to this doorbell. I don’t think it’s as great as reviews said. It was easy to set up I bought it mainly for the ability to have local, not cloud recording. I also want to have minimal connection to Amazon. It is helpful for these reasons. I do think there is a bit of a lag between when someone is detected and I get a notification. Too slow. The base is working on Ethernet, not WiFi, because I read that would be even slower. It is good at detecting humans but that seems to be it. Something large ate some flowers near the front door and we had no notification that anything was there, or even footage of it happening. I am disappointed.I can see both the yard and the porch. I don’t think it’s all that much better than the ring 1st generation that it replaced.

I ended up going with Eufy instead of a Ring and i dont regret it so far. Install was not difficult, but it does help to read the provided instructions. First thing to do before mounting is to set up the doorbell to wifi a long with the provided homebase and installing the app on your smart phone. Once that is done, instructions will appear on the app and it should be an easy install (same instructions that come in the hard copy manual). Patience is definitely key when trying to customize all your preferences. Not in the sense that its difficult, but take your time in going through all the settings. You will learn really fast what your door bell is capable of along with all its "bells and whistles". As long as you have good internet connection going to your doorbell and also have good internet or data on your phone, it all works like a charm. I get notifications in less than 3 seconds on my iphone whenever it senses someone or when someone rings the bell. My family and i love our new dual camara door bell. The application on my phone is excellent and easy to navigate. I also installed a Eufy deadbolt lock, that i control through the same app. My in laws loved our doorbell so much that they want me to install one for them soon.

I am going to do something I almost never do on here: award an unqualified 5-star review! The Eufy Security 2K Dual Cam Video Doorbell is an absolute joy to use, set up, and maintain. If you're looking for a video doorbell that gives you a full view of your entryway area, with AI package and person detection, and *without* a required monthly subscription fee, this is the doorbell for you. I've been using the Eufy Dual Cam doorbell for a couple of weeks. Before that, I had Eufy's previous Smart Wifi Video Doorbell. The Dual Cam model is a major upgrade from the previous version in several respects. Let me count the ways: • Only detects people coming toward your door (the previous version captured many a dog-walker on the sidewalk in front of my house, even after setting activation zones) • Displays a complete view of the entryway, from the door jamb to eye height of approaching visitors • Identifies faces of people who come to the door • Identifies deliveries of packages and notifies you both when they arrive and when they're picked up • Mounts with the attachment release hole facing up, preventing the user from having to contort themselves to lean over and release the doorbell from the mount for charging This doorbell solves all the (slight) problems of the previous version, and I was pleased to note that the mounting bracket that came with the camera can be attached using the same two screw holes as the previous version, even though it's a different size. The new camera provides an excellent view of the front porch of my house. We participate in our neighborhood's "buy nothing" project, in which people offer to give away things to their neighbors they would otherwise throw away or donate. That means we often have one or two bags with various household goods sitting on the front step. We usually use grocery bags, so it sometimes looks as though we have a delivery sitting out there! The Eufy Dual Cam doorbell keeps an electronic eye on those bags and lets us know when the appropriate person has come to pick them up. In addition, I think the video doorbell would scare away anyone who might think about approaching the door with bad intentions. Being a user of another Eufy doorbell, I can report that the battery life was usually a little less than the six months Eufy estimates. However, we have two kids, which means lots of coming and going that others might not experience. And with fewer activations for people just walking by the house, I think the battery life on the new Dual Cam doorbell will be significantly better. I love that the Eufy doorbells offer all these functions for no additional cost. If I desired, I could add cloud storage of videos that would be available even if the doorbell is damaged or stolen. Eufy also offers two levels of security monitoring; one of which has live monitoring and can earn a discount on homeowner's insurance. The Eufy app is a joy to use, and I can see myself installing some of Eufy's security cameras to keep a better eye on my property. All-in-all, this device is an unqualified success. Five stars! No notes!

We were planning to buy another security doorbell with camera brand but when my husband did some research, he found Eufy. We read the reviews and thought why not give it a try. Overall product is worth it! Just a slight delay on the camera but it works very well! We love the fact that you don’t have to pay for a subscription to get storage and live camera. Installation - Fairly straightforward although I did have to get the Geek Squad out to finish the process. Geek Squad was fantastic. Printed instructions need to be improved. Video quality - Terrific. Sync with Alexa - Terrible! Again...instructions are lacking. Customer support with Eufy was not helpful at all. Recommendation - I struggle with this one. The device is great but the sync issue is definitely a negative.

To save you from reading this whole thing, awesome doorbell cam!! Mines hardwired in, except when temps drop into the negatives outside. The doorbell stops running on power and goes to battery. You get no warning that happens, nor do you get any warning that your battery is almost dead and that you should bring the doorbell in to warm it up and charge it. When it’s extremely cold outside, the doorbell should stop “charging” when cold and run off power. Not the other way around. That’s the quick version. Mobile app gets 3 stars due to no warning that the doorbell no longer runs on power during extreme cold weather and for not alerting you that the battery is about to die! I bought this because I don’t have to pay for a service to get video and data from it. It actually works great. Why 3 stars? My doorbell is hardwired in and has a constant 19v. So, should stay charged all the time. It doesn’t. If it gets too cold, the doorbell stops “charging” and runs on battery. My camera was offline yesterday and when I noticed and checked, the battery was at 68%, but the camera came back on. So I didn’t think anything of it. Today, my daughters friends mom came to pick her up and knocked on our door because the doorbell wasn’t working. We were in the high 50’s today. So the camera should’ve been on power. It wasn’t. It ran the battery completely dead and wouldn’t charge even though it had power!! It alerts me for every stupid motion it picks up, but it can’t alert me to say “Hey, your battery is low. You should “warm me up (even though it’s almost 60 degrees) and charge me!!” But then it doesn't. I love this camera (with the exception of I can’t get it to charge once it warms up, unless I bring it inside…that defeats the purpose of being wired 24/7) or record 24/7 while hardwired), but completely dying while on power is rediculous!! I get not charging a lithium battery while it’s extremely cold out (we were -6 to -10 for several days). Today was “hot” for northern Illinois a few days after Christmas!

Met all my expectation for a video doorbell. I like the 2- camera feature where the bottom one can detect packages close to the door. Notification can be set to warn if package has not been picked up after a set time. It is very easy to install and use on daily basis.
