    This review is based soley on Company policy rather than the doorbell itself. I have no idea how good the doorbell is because I didnt complete the installation. Let me preface by stating I currently own three cameras and the homebase from Eufy that I purchased several months ago that I've been happy with but my opinion of the brand has completely changed. After calling the company's customer service, I learned that i could not sync the doorbell camera manually. Now they force you to scan a QR code without the option to type in characters. I know this is all the rage because people love convenience (who doesn't? ) but this allows your phone to be possibly compromised as there is no way to know what the source code does to your phone. Anything from mining your personal information to malicious code are possible. I was also prompted to allow my location service. None of these things should be required but they are. If you care about protecting your privacy/security, consider other options.

      Regarding the binding and syncing issue, it seems that the problem may have arisen due to an incomplete binding process. The QR code scanning is a part of our setup process designed to make the installation easier and more efficient. We understand your concerns about security, and we want to assure you that our QR codes are safe and do not compromise your phone in any way.

      As for the permissions, we want to clarify that we are transparent about the permissions we request. As part of our commitment at Eufy Security, we actively inform our users about the permissions we require and why we need them. We do not mine your personal information or insert malicious code. The location service permission, for instance, is required for geofencing features and to provide customized services based on your location.

    Doesnt work and they dont care

    Ive replaced this doorbell over 4 times and each time it has a new problem, it wont charge, or wont use the mechanical bell, or stops giving notifications, and the list goes on. Customer service was non-existant as they 'wait for engineers to look at it' and then the engineers say its not compatible with my system.

    I haven't installed it yet. It didn't fit the prior Ring Doorbell or original doorbell screw hole layout. I had to go buy a drill bit 15/64" to work with it.

    Cannot connect WiFi

    I got one from a friend but could not get it to work with my WiFi, even though I searched online and found that a common issue is connecting with 2.4 ghz instead of 5 ghz. So I set it up with my router but still could not connect. So I came to BestBuy and bought a new one thinking the one I got from my friend might be faulty. But no, the new one could not connect either. Terrible. I tried another one from a different brand also connecting with 2.4ghz which worked flawlessly. Buyers be aware.

    Does not do what expected. Does not record 80% of the event, when it does it will record a package and never show anyone delivering it. I have eufy cameras and they work well. I’ve tried all the combinations in settings to no satisfaction.
