Subscription Free Doorbell with Great Features

If you're like me and tired of all the subscription based products out there, and want a device that won't lock your video recordings behind a paywall, but still give you all the features you need, this Eufy doorbell is the answer. I've now had several Eufy doorbells and I also have their floodlight cam. I cannot stress enough how much I love the fact that there is no subscription needed for this or any of my Eufy products. Eufy does offer an optional protection plan subscription which has some other benefits like monitoring, but it's not needed for just normal everyday use that you'd expect to get with a smart doorbell. So let's start with some of those everyday use features. As a doorbell, it does everything you'd expect it to. What's really nice about this version though, is that it'll work with your standard door chime or their homebase which you can buy separately. Or, if you're like me and have an older Eufy doorbell that came with a homebase, it'll work with that as well, which is how I have mine hooked up. As far as the video and audio quality goes, you can't get much better. Everything comes through perfectly clear so when someone rings you'll easily see who it is, and of course you can talk to them through the doorbell itself. There's no reason to wait for the doorbell to ring though, since this Eufy will detect motion and can alert you before the doorbell ever gets pressed. That's one of my favorite features of this doorbell, because in addition to that, it'll start recording video of the motion as soon as it detects it. This part gave me a good laugh actually a couple times this week. Twice one of the neighbor kids decided to play 'ding dong ditch'. It was amusing watching them come up to the doorbell in plain sight, and then either turn their backs to the doorbell or cover their face right before pressing the button, not realizing the doorbell was already recording them. The dual cameras really help capture more of the full picture too. The main purpose of the dual cameras though is to point one down low towards where a delivered package would normally be. This is yet another feature that makes this my favorite doorbell. Not only do you get a perfect view of any packages you might get, but the package detection software is a huge bonus. While not perfect, it's right way more often than it's wrong, and even then, when it is wrong, it's usually for detecting a package when there isn't one. Rarely does it miss actual packages. Best part though is it sends you a notification when a package is dropped off, as well as one when that package is picked up. This feature alone gives some peace of mind when worrying about porch pirates. Before getting the Eufy doorbell with this feature, I would constantly pull up live video to see if the package is still there, now at least I know it's still there as long as the 'picked up' notification hasn't come through. Not that it prevents theft, but at least it helps keep an eye on things for you. You can't talk about all these great features without talking about the Eufy app though, and I honestly feel like it's one of the better device apps out there. First of all, the one Eufy security app works with all of their devices. This means that with one app I can view either of my two doorbell cams I have in use (I put my older one on a back door) and my floodlight cam. It's also the same app I've had now for quite some time as even my oldest Eufy doorbell used the same app. Through the app you can easily manage all of the settings and things like setting motion zones, with the different devices having their own unique settings to manage. It's also where you'll be able to see all of your recorded video clips, which are very well organized and easy to navigate to older dates. This has even helped me with a home insurance claim. After my insurance company claimed my house sustained hail damage on a different date when I was insured with a different company, I was able to go back to that exact date and happened to have footage that my Eufy devices picked up during the storm, showing there was no hail at my home that day. Finally I should probably mention the setup and install. The entire process is really easy and the app walks you right through it. Having had another Eufy doorbell, it was an easy swap for me as the screw holes were identical. Only thing I need to mention is to not fully mount up the doorbell until the app basically says the install has been completed. Reason being there's a QR code on the back of the doorbell that you need to scan for the app to connect to it. Not that it's that big of a deal, but my old doorbell wires feel like they only have so much flex left before they break so I was trying to not put more stress on them than necessary. Having said that, this specific doorbell does also have a battery, so the wires aren't even required, except to connect to the chime unless you have their homebase. I really couldn't be much happier with this Eufy doorbell and their line of security devices. I don't have many negative things to say about them, if any at all, and am always recommending them to everyone I know. Plus the fact that you don't have to pay for a subscription puts this doorbell way ahead of the competition.

I purchased this for my Airbnb property and I couldn’t be happier! It has made hosting so much easier and more professional. My guests love how convenient and modern it feels, and I appreciate how reliable and easy it is to use and maintain. Setup was quick, the quality is excellent, and it works exactly as expected. It’s been running smoothly with zero issues, even with frequent guest turnover. This has definitely upgraded the experience in my rental and gives guests that “wow” factor when they arrive. If you’re a host looking to level up your space and guest experience, I HIGHLY recommend this — worth every penny and truly perfect for short-term rentals!

Eufy Security - Video Doorbell E340

I received the Eufy Security Video Doorbell E340 in black. It seems to be well made and durable, it is bulkier and heavier than some of the others out on the market, but doesn't seem to be cheaply made. It has a sleek black rectangular design with angled ends. On the front of the doorbell, you’ll find the 2K camera lens, which has a 160-degree field of view, beneath which is the doorbell’s button. This is surrounded by an LED ring, which glows blue when the doorbell is pressed, or motion is detected. The second camera is to detect packages and is therefore positioned on the bottom end of the doorbell, sitting at a slight angle. The Eufy Video Doorbell Dual can be used wirelessly or connected to existing doorbell wiring, meaning any chimes you have in your home will be triggered when the doorbell is pressed. I chose to hardwire since I replaced a previous doorbell I had wired. Installation and set-up is relatively simple, even though I did have issues connecting to my Wi-Fi, for some reason I had to try multiple time to connect and moved my router closer to the door and it finally connect and have not had any problems since. The Eufy Video Doorbell Dual’s 2K camera records clear, super-detailed video in daylight, capturing a generous area. The infrared night color vision is very nice, much clearer and can see more than my previous doorbell that was mostly blacked out, ( see pic ). The built-in microphone and speaker are good, letting you clearly talk to a visitor. As is the built-in AI, which can identify and alert you to faces of anyone at your property, and packages within the camera’s field of view. The Video Doorbell Dual pairs with the Eufy Security app, which is clear and easy to navigate. The app is set to display the live feeds from the cameras in Split mode by default, the footage captured by the main doorbell camera is positioned directly above that recorded by the downward-facing in the app, in windows of equal size, the app does let you customize this view, so you can have a picture-in-picture layout, or view video from the package camera in a much smaller window, ( see Pic ), also features an Events section that displays past footage in chronological order. Overall, I think this is a great video Doorbell and would recommend.

This is my second Eufy Doorbell Camera, but first one at my new house. I’m a fan of Eufy products, I also have the floodlight , outdoor cameras, and homebase setup…this Doorbell Camera definitely complimented the Eufy Ecosystem. I’m really impressed with how they designed this for package detection with a second camera. Not only packages, but if our dogs get loose, they will come back at the front door and this will let us know when they arrive. The install was very easy and straightforward, even for a non-handyman like myself. My old doorbell that got replaced was a typical old-school one, so all I really needed to do was add one more hole to fit the backplate while using one of the already drilled holes. The only thing that concerned me was that my doorbell was on the side of my door, at a perpendicular angle. I was worried that the view would have been cut off but they do include an angled add-on for the mount to help with this, and even though I can’t see my entire walkway, I still get a good view of who (and what) is at my door, see my attached picture. I fully charged the battery and connected it to my phone and network before the install, and did a firmware update. Connecting the device to my phone was as simple as scanning a QR code on the device. Then I connected the 2 doorbell wires to my Eufy camera and snapped it into the mount. You have the option to use built-in home system doorbell sound (ding dong) or you can use Eufy’s homebase system if you have one…multiple options are nice. The picture quality is nice and clear for both cameras, even at night. Notifications started coming through immediately. If you use their Homebase product it has AI detection and can store extra footage. It’ll recognize faces and you can label them by their name, but the homebase is not included with this product. I attached a photo of a person vs stranger AI recognition. Delivery Guard is another new software feature they are offering, I haven’t got to experience too much with it, but apparently if its enabled and someone is approaching a package at your door, a light and sound go off and even include an optional audible message to go off. Pretty cool options. My only issue I’ve experienced is that the doorbell does not seem to be charging by my home power and appears to be running off the battery even though the cables are connected and I am receiving power (test through multimeter). The home doorbell works and yet I don’t see a charging symbol and the battery percentage is slowly dropping. I’m sure this may be somehow due to my setup and is a user error, but I’m working with support now to fix this issue. Its nice how these devices get updated automatically as well, I received a message early this morning that my Doorbell camera was updated and it shows the fixes, good to know Eufy is constantly working to improve their hardware. Overall, I’m a big Eufy fan. Their cameras are simple to setup and require no monthly cost. I do wish they had an improved method to mute notifications easily in bulk. If our kids go out and play outside, each cameras they walk into goes off. I have to go into each camera and temporarily mute it. But I do feel confident in Eufy’s security and how well their AI has been working and do feel safer in my home.

I’ve had several different “smart” video door bells. All of them have had their problems. So far, this one is the best in terms of quality, responsiveness, and doesn’t require a paid subscription. No requiring a subscription really sets Eufy apart from the competitor. I know some of the other brands don’t “require” subscriptions but use is extremely limited if you aren’t paying. This is not the case with Eufy. Which I’m sure everyone can appreciate. Build quality is great. Its larger than I thought it would be. Its also the largest video doorbell out of all the ones I’ve had to date. Its not over the top large though, just something that I noticed. It doesn’t negatively impact the aesthetics of my home though. Installation was simple and the app provides step by step instructions. It took me less than 30 minutes to install and be up and running and that I was including the firmware update. I like the app; I feel it is designed well and easy to use. It has exceptional ratings as well. This is not the case for other smart video apps. I also like that it is responsive. Its fast when someone rings my doorbell, to open the app and see who is there. Other doorbells there is a long delay. So much so, I may never get to see who is there before they walk away. This is a huge advantage because it is a common struggle with multiple other brands. The video is also amazing. I have my doorbell hardwired so I don’t really have to worry about turning the quality features all the way up because I have constant power. The video is really amazing as is the audio quality. The reason for the 4 star instead of the 5 star, is I have been getting a good amount of false alerts. Mainly regarding packages. It will randomly alert me stating my package as been picked up and I don’t even have a package out for pickup. The opposite has happened as well where I will get alerted saying I’ve had a package delivered with no package delivered. On one occasion when I did receive a package, it got stuck in an alert loop stating I had a package delivered and then picked up over and over again and wouldn’t stop. This was very annoying as I couldn’t figure out how to get it to stop. Finally, I opened the app and cleared all the alerts and it stopped. I assume this feature will get better over time but for now, I feel it’s very much a beta feature with some bugs to work out. Overall, this is a fantastic video doorbell and the fact you don’t need a subscription service for this is amazing. I really would like to add a couple of the Eufy cameras and base station in this same ecosystem to get the overall experience and retire some of my other cameras. I have yet to incorporate this in to my smart home system which I will do soon but I’m extremely happy with the doorbell and feel it is probably the best choice on the market at this time.

This is my third doorbell camera, my prior ones were Wyze and Ring. While those other two worked fine they lacked in person detection and package detection. With the Wyze one I would constantly get notifications that were false, Ring was a little better about this. The one big thing is the camera is mounted by the front door, so once a package is placed by the door it is no longer in view of the camera. The Eufy however has a bottom facing camera that can track packages and avoids false detections. The Eufy camera can detect when a box is placed in view of the camera. Then it notifies you via the app that someone dropped off a package. Setting up the camera was a total breeze. I should have taken photos, but you can easily customize which areas that the camera should look for movement. This is great since we have decorations out front that move that caused our old camera to do false detections. With the Eufy it will now only notify me when someone is walking up to the door and not just people walking by on the sidewalk. The video recordings are sharp and easy to review. The only thing I do not like about this camera is how easy it is to take off the wall. My prior cameras required you to use a screw driver to remove the camera. This one just has a push pin that put in the small hole on top and the camera pops off. It just seems like you could easily rip this off the wall. This is just my paranoia as security cameras don’t usually get stolen. Even though my other cameras are a different brand and the Eufy requires me to use a new app I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one of these. This is the future of doorbell cameras and I love that it accurately can detect people or packages. When my prior cameras start to fail and need to be replaced I will look at Eufy just because of how great this doorbell camera is.

The Eufu E340 video doorbell has been a nice addition to my front porch. The look of the doorbell doesn't match my traditional home decor, but I feel like all video doorbells look similar. Setup was easy. Charge the battery, then insert it in the doorbell. You'll then need to download the Eufu Security app, create an account and connect the doorbell with your account. It took me less than 5 minutes. The install was easy too. I removed my old doorbell via two screws. I then utilized the included template to drill two new holes for the mounting bracket. I used the included angled mount for my install. The doorbell and mount get screwed into the wall using two (included) screws. You use the app to make sure the doorbell has a good visual scope on where you want to record. The Eufu Security app is pretty decent. It's a little slow when opening up a video clip, and can be pretty jumpy while watching the videos. Giving the videos time to buffer is helpful, but inconvenient. I have my doorbell set to provide notification for motion and deliveries. So far, I've noticed about a 20 second delay from package dropoff (or motion) until I get a notification. I'm okay with this delay. The daylight images are very nice and clear. There is a black bar between what the top and bottom cameras record, but you get used to it. Adding the bottom camera really makes package viewing easy. Images at night are a little more grainy. All in all, I'm happy with my new doorbell. Install and setup were straightforward and easy. And I'm thankful to have the choice about notification frequency and sensitivity. This is a well thought out product. The app does need some work though.

We love everything about this doorbell!! It detects motion only generated by people, provides fast notifications, can be tailored with multiple distance settings plus activity zones, smart person detection, and works with my existing doorbell. It does not suffer from detection of cars and people outside the activity zones (sidewalk next to the street) and does not have multiple “motion alerts” caused by wind moving plants around (One doorbell would announce every passing car as a motion alert). As an unexpected bonus, it detects, records, and messages “packages being dropped off”, reminds you if you forgot to pick the package up by a certain time like 8pm, and tells you when “package has been picked up” and records that event. The dual camera works well and records both views at the same time- I had another brand with this and liked it. This one you can even set the area to be scanned for packages. The video quality is crystal clear! And for night, it has an option to shine a light on whoever walks up, for a crystal clear night quality!! Achieving what you might consider core functionality without frustrating errors (no car in street alerts, no wind driven motion alerts like my flag, doorbell really rings) was a nice change. Doing this without storing on a cloud, without a subscription fee, without sharing with law enforcement, and making intelligent ai detection of people (sometimes) and packages (almost always) “on device” is outstanding. Love the “you forgot to collect your package” option. Sometimes it will message a person as “motion” and not specifically a “human” esp if they don’t stop, like when we go in and out of our own house. Since there are no false motion alerts due to wind etc I can trust that motion alerts are people and ignore the fact that it doesn’t label the event as a person. And you might want to adjust or turn off the loitering announcement that is on by default- I disabled the voice prompt but kept the notifications. It works wired with my old doorbell chime and is powered by that wiring.

I bought this over a year ago and it still works great as a door bell camera. No subscription needed and it sends alerts to your phone. Let's you know when packages are delivered and when they are later picked up. Great quality. Handles all weather. The battery lasts for about six weeks before needing charged.

Pretty good doorbell, especially when you get it on sale! I chose this doorbell in particular since it has onboard storage meaning you don't have to pay any subscription plan, but you could use their online storage service if you'd like to. I mainly got this for packages and some peace of mind due to some issues in the neighborhood recently. To quickly list what I like and don't like, please read below: Pros: - Dual cameras, one is angled towards the ground so that you can see packages that arrive. - Clear camera quality. When I review clips, I have been able to zoom in and still see whos nearby. - This can be seen as good or bad but I like the range of detection, I get notifications anytime someone walks by on the sidewalk. I have not been bothered by getting a few more notifications on my phone to see what's going on. - Night vision is awesome and if someone is nearby, the lights on bottom of the camera will turn on. - Installation was very easy, it's what you'd expect from any other doorbell installation. If you've done ring or any other ones, this should be a breeze. Cons: - Amazon Alexa integration is subpar at times. I used this in tandem with an Amazon echo show so that I could view the front door off of it. There are many times where echo will say that the doorbell is offline, but I and all family members can still view the live stream off of the eufy security app. - The package security feature can sometimes drive me crazy. For the most part it has been good, but there have been occasions where nothing has been delivered and nothing is in the bottom cameras view, but it will spam me with 20+ notifications within a minute stating that a package has been removed. Maybe it's just a me problem, but sucks when it happens. Overall consensus: I think this is a great camera and is definitely a great choice when on sale! I am satisfied with this purchase and will look at eufy in the future for any other security cameras if needed!

I'll start out by saying I'm so impressed with the coverage of this Eufy E340 doorbell security camera. I've used and owned multiple doorbell security cameras, and this is by far the best option to not only see who's at the door but what was delivered as well. Thanks to Eufy's dual camera setup, this allows you to see not only your guest or delivery driver, but the package that was left as well. As the second ground aimed camera allows you to clearly see your packages, for the perfect peace of mind. The dual camera setup records up to 2K, which har great clarity to the footage to the day. Also infared at night with clarity for night time viewing. There's also LEDs for added light at the top and bottom cameras as well. I connected this to my 2.4 GHZ wifi, via the Eufy Security App, which took me around 20 minutes for the install start to finish. You can adjust the area both cameras monitor for motion as well as how sensitive the cameras are as well, I left mine at the default setting of medium. My favorite part of this Eufy doorbell camera is it has local storage internally, so there's no need to pay extra for cloud storage like most doorbell cameras on the market today. This model has 8GB built in for storage which should be more than enough for footage storage up to a week or more. Install is very simple and straightforward using hand tools for me since I previously had a Arlo video doorbell installed. At most you'll need a drill for making a new hole to mount the doorbell on its bracket, only 2 holes required, and this uses your original wires from a standard doorbell and interior electric wall mounted chime. There's no extra parts if you have a standard doorbell and electric indoor chime already installed.

The Eufy E340 is a great alternative to the more common mainstream door bells. The biggest advantage is the fact that there's no subscription fee. Keeps cost down long term and its nice that you can not only store video locally on the microSD card but you can also just download and pull onto your phone through the app Setup is pretty straightforward. Its easiest if you already have a doorbell. then you can use existing power. Technically you can run this as battery operated but i haven't needed to test that since i had a dumb doorbell already. aside from just moving the power over, you just need to mount it to your wall however best gives you the right view. comes with some adapters to angle the camera. i used the sideways wedge to point it more towards the yard because the doorbell is so close to the wall as seen in the picture App setup is pretty straightforward. Just follow the instructions and you should not have issue. Dual cameras is great because not only do i get alerts of someone approaching you get a separate alert when a package is dropped. Sometimes i'll see that someone is approaching and the thumbnail shows a delivery person, but without the camera i wouldn't know if they dropped something. its nice having a second notification that a package was delivered. when i pick it up you also get an alert that package was picked up. makes it easier to manage to see if someone else has grabbed your package. Using the app is pretty user friendly, you can set up motion zones (handy when you have a busy street and don't want triggers for many cars, or in my case lots of stray cats, so i set the zone above their walking level) The camera is clear daytime and night and audio is very clear. you can have a two way conversation and understand each other if needed. Overall, great camera thats easy to set up and 2 cameras are definitely a must if you get many deliveries.

Follow the instructions based on how you have this camera installed. I thought I knew what I was doing. Yes, the camera worked with no issues from the initial installation. I had the attitude, I know how these are installed. After about a week, I had to go back to correct the installation due to how I had it setup with the app and the homebase3. Today, it works seamlessly without any issues. I love the package camera, the package protection mode, and the package picked up notification. At this moment, only because I haven't delved into research, why don't the top spotlight come on at night when someone walks up to the door? The bottom spotlight comes on immediately. I may research it this week. The clarity is superb. I did notice one small issue that I want to recreate the scenario again. There is a delay when speaking through the app when someone is at your doorbell. I was at work and noticed a 5-7 seconds delay in my response time. I could hear the visitor immediately, my response was delayed longer than expected. Other than that, this doorbell camera is spot on.

Went from an Arlo door bell to this. One thing I can truly say, a massive upgrade. Let's just start with the camera. Outstanding quality. The doormat camera for packages is great. Motion recognition actually functions correctly. Ended up replaced all our Arlo cams at home with Eufy because of how much we liked this doorbell. The local storage is wonderful, you don't need a sub to use the stuff with a homebase. The Eufy software is outstanding as well. I think that's my favorite part of the purchase. Compared to order brands we've tried, it's fast and functional as it should be. I currently use an A340, 2x S3 Pro and a S380 homebase. Setup is seamless and easy, I truly believe all the issues I read with Eufy simply come down to the quality of wifi. We use an Orbi mesh and have zero issues with the product..

Install (wired) wasn’t too bad…but had a few challenges. Response time is good, no monthly fees (main reason I bought it) and I do like having the down facing camera to see packages better. Attempting to set zones to prevent unnecessary motion triggers works just okay. Still get a decent amount of false recordings when someone triggers it from pretty far away. I do recommend if you’re looking to stop monthly subscriptions and have a well working doorbell camera.

The video quality is excellent — clear even at night! The motion detection is fast and accurate, and the two-way audio works perfectly when I’m not home. Installation was easy, and the app notifications are super reliable. I love being able to check who’s at my door anytime. Another great Eufy product!

These doorbells are pretty cool. Cameras (two of them) on each unit work well and have a good image. I really like that there are 2 cameras (one pointing straight out and another pointing down to track packages left around the door). Works well, easy to set up, and easy to use. Bought several of these and all work well.

I’ve been using the Eufy E340 video doorbell for a few weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed. The dual-camera setup is a game-changer—it provides a clear view of both visitors and packages on the ground, which adds a layer of security I didn’t know I was missing. The 2K resolution is crisp, even in low light, and the motion detection is accurate without being overly sensitive. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a smart, reliable, and high-quality video doorbell.
