A remake that was beyond my expectations
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game really blew me out of the water because I had low hopes for it and was against it for the longest time, but the more I played the more I liked it. As a fan of the original FF7, the revamped combat system was amazing to me. The game looks beautiful, and seeing Midgar come to life the way it did was mindblowing. Not your traditional JRPG, but it works well with what it's got.

Worth the wait.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's FFVII, we all know it and mostly all love it. This game is what a remake/remaster should be, from scratch with a whole new updated engine and gameplay style that feels like so much less of a slow paced chore for this day and age, the story is basically the same but with a new chapter based system and the flow of the story is a bit different which is nice, keeps even the oldest players from knowing exactly what happens next and in my opinion is much more engaging. I've been sleeping on Final Fantasy for a while but Square really nailed it on this one. Remake some of the older FF games, please! I would love to experience the story of VI, my personal favorite with these updated mechanics.

Great Game!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love how Square Enix has modernized the battle system so it's similar to FF15 and KH3 but there's still some strategy involved. The visuals are stunning and I can't wait for the next installment!

Great addition to the FF Universe
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Story line follows the original game but adds a little bit to gaps that did exist. New gameplay engine is great improvement over the turn base system. Looking for the next installments.

Great game from a classic.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing game in 1997 and still amazing today. The characters are brought to life and the gameplay updated for modern times. The game is challenging (unless you puss out and put it on easy), and gives you plenty of hours of enjoyment. My only gripes are we have to keep waiting years and years for them to finish the overall story since this is basically disc 1 of the old game. Hopefully they don't change the overall story too much either because they are leaving the door open for that as well.

Outstanding Remake
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The graphics and gameplay are amazing, and while not quite the battle system of old, it works very well with the game. My only complaint is that I now have to wait for the next installment.

Nostalgia
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good game. The graphics are pretty great, the voice acting is good, and the story flows pretty well. The new fighting style took some getting used to, but once I knew it, I didn't lose a battle. They did a great job at sticking to the original story, adding some new twists, and keeping you zoned in and ready to keep going. I am eagerly waiting the next portion of the game.

FFVIII Remakequel
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a lot of fun playing this game. I really enjoyed the gameplay mechanics and the OST. The story brought back a lot of memories of the original game, however there are some changes that makes this both a remake and potentially a sequel (Chapter 18.) My main issue is that the textures in the Sector 5 and Sector 7 slums are inconceivably horrible. Hopefully this gets patched in a future update from Square, but at the moment, some textures in the game are seeming not resolving correctly and leave some objects looking straight of a ps2 game. Despite these issues, I highly recommend playing this game if you love Final Fantasy VII and also enjoyed the combat in FFXV.

Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had very low expectations going into this game because I didn’t like the original. Other than the story this is a completely new game. Outstanding battle system and best graphics to date.

Great return to a classic
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a fan of the original I was very excited to play this game. I wasn’t disappointed as I’ve enjoyed this game far too much. Don’t be fooled by its hack-n-slash style combat. This is a JRPG through and through. It requires the same amount of strategy you’d need in any other FF game. It’s implemented a stagger system like FF13. Basically you figure out the enemy’s elemental weakness and and spam it with that weakness until the stagger meter builds all the way up. Once done, it’s guard is down and that’s when you can do a lot of damage. It’s not absolutely required, but you can kill the enemies way faster this way. Great game. One of my favorites this year.

Fantastic Adventure

Everything you wanted it to be and more
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say about this reimagining of the first disc of Final Fantasy VII. That its what I hoped it might be? That after years and years of misfires from SquareEnix (I stopped playing Final Fantasy Games at X) they finally got it right? All of that is true, but you can't take my word for it, if you LOVED this original game like I did, you have to buy this game. The nostalgia factor is real. Every piece of this game brings you right back to the settings you loved and the new pieces they added fit so seamlessly you'd never know that they weren't in the original. We're all on quarantine. Do yourself a favor and make it a little more enjoyable.

Good if you enjoy Japan style RPGs
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun to play, combat system is a good mix of action and planning. The cutscenes and story are interesting, not just skip over it fodder like Metal Gear Solid games. Looks fantastic.

Absolutely love this game!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Grew up on FF7 on the original PlayStation...visually this one blows that away. The combat is more like FF15 than the original FF7. If you’re ok with that, you’ll love this game.
