Great for nostalgia, revives a lot of the old story with some new twists. And great graphics as well.

Solid Remake even if it is only part one. A few filler fetch quests but otherwise good nostalgia.

I personally loved every moment of it. The combat system takes some practice and patience, but it is well worth the time. I’m currently on my second play through as I attempt to hit the level cap necessary to tackle hard mode. Overall, I would highly recommend this game to both newcomers and any returning fans of the series. It truly is an expertly crafted game with an attention to detail that is deserving of the highest praise.

To answer the most asked question the game is part 1 and takes you through the point of just leaving midgar. Its a fantastic game and really enjoyable. The game is very linear and i would guess part 2 is where we can have open world exploration since its going to be massive game on ps5. If you love final fantasy get this game. If you enjoy rpg get this game. If you just want a fantatic ps4 game get this game.

So far I'm in love with this game. I'm 8 hours in and only on chapter 6 of 18 (I'm a completionist). Graphics and dialog are amazing, the expansion on the original story has been phenomenal thus far. Buy it! You wont regret it. The only thing I'm unhappy about is Best Buy itself, I have yet to receive my preorder bonus and that is frustrating.

When I first head that the game was finally getting a release date, I knew I had to pre-order it. I was a fan of the original FF7 back in the early PS1 days and this game didn't disappoint. Lots of little things that were part of the original are in this remake. The overall game play is fun but the cinematic are like watching a movie. I really enjoyed it and have very high expectations for the next 2 parts to be released.

Bottom line: FFVII Remake brings the best of modern graphics and gameplay to the beloved classic, creating a brand new experience for FFVII veterans. Pros: modern combat system, immersive environments, solid voice acting, fresh but familiar experience Cons: the cut scenes/dialogue sometimes feel long and drawn out Review: Fans of the original won’t be disappointed; the remake retains everything fans love about the original but updates the experience with modern gameplay, immersive environments, solid voice acting, and tweaked weapon and materia management. In many ways, the Remake is what the original aspired to be: an interactive cinematic adventure. The modern graphics and gameplay enhance that goal, as the game moves seamlessly between character dialogue, cinematic cut scenes, and gameplay. The real time combat system works well at updating the core essence of the turn-based system, although there is a learning curve for those who haven’t played a FF game in a while. One of the major improvements is that Midgar feels much more alive and immersive than the original. Instead of interacting with each NPC, non essential dialogue is eavesdropped automatically. This makes it feel like things are going on outside of the main characters’ experience. However, all main dialogue and character interactions occur mostly during cut scenes. These scenes include more dialogue and plot than the original (a plus) but at the same time veterans of the original who liked mashing square during the plot dialogue may become impatient waiting for the scenes to play out.

I haven't beaten the game yet (currently in chapter 13), but it's been a fun experience thus far. I've played and beaten the original, and I think this does a great job balancing staying faithful to the classic, while still offering something new for fans of the original. The battle system took a little to get used to, especially when switching between 3 characters, but I'm now hooked and can't wait for hard mode.

Love square Enix game, a very big fan of the kingdom hearts series. I like final fantasy but I'm not a very big fan of the turn-based games. I've always loved the scenery of final fantasy 7. I loved to play crisis core back on the PSP when I was 12. This game with the graphics is definitely worth it for any long-time square Enix lover. Next please bring back the bouncer!!

This game is amazing! Really brings me back to my childhood. The battle system is awesome.

This game is a remake of the 1997 smash hit FFVII. For all the classical gamers out there you know what I'm talking about. This game is absolutely phenomenal. If you have seen FFVII advent children the film, then imagine PLAYING the film instead of watching it. This game has taken the original and essentially expanded on the original story. So everything is the same with substantial extras. Characters, (to include minor characters) have been given extra storylines and it instantly immerses you in the world. The graphics are simply stunning. Everything is smooth, crisp and clear. I do have a 4k television set but I honestly don't think it would matter to the casual viewer. The game barely transitions from gameplay to cinematic views and it is LIGHT years ahead of what PS1 orginally produced. The fighting system takes a little bit to get used to but that's the fun of the game. Learning how to utilize each character is great. Be creative and develop your style of play. The ONLY downside to this game is that they didn't release the entire game in its entirety. It was originally a 3 disc game in 1997. They are clearly trying to make extra money off of you. And I am completely ok with it. The game is simply that. darn. good. Now I am a bit biased as I have been a fan of this series for decades but I will say that even first time players will enjoy this game so much that upon completion they will be itching for the next installment.

Big fan of the original as well as Crisis Core on the PSP. This look like it was going to be a mash up of both those games. It is that, but so much more. The graphics, the sound and the gameplay are all modern day cutting edge just enough tinges of the originals to really bring back the nostalgia. If you’re an RPG fan, if you’ve played the original or not, this is a must buy.

The battle system is so much fun in this game. Story is fun if you played the OG too.
