The original final fantasy is already hail that is one of the greatest RPGs ever if not the greatest. This game has surpassed my expectations of what a remake could potentially be. It excels in everything I feared they would fail in. By this now!

If you loved the original then this game is for you. It brings back memory of when you were a kid and how immersive this game was. I just wish that that they released all the parts already. Waiting 2 years for each part is a killer.

Pre-ordered the game surely on nostalgia factor for the original, but the game is so wildly different that it lost me after the initial reactor sequence... Maybe an hour into the game. The game is very pretty but I want looking for a reimagining of one of my favorite games from my childhood. A bit disappointing.

Loves the original and the remake has been worth the wait. Know that this is part 1 of a multi-part series so it doesn’t cover the whole original first game. But I love that I’ll be able to spend even more time in this game. Highly recommend

FF VII was my first RPG game in PS1, and this remake brought back memories. I am glad that they gave many twist to the story line. The fighting controls are challenging and fun. Graphic....OMG....Good job Square Enix. Highly recommended!

I felt amazement n this new 3D world, and yet it was so familiar even after 12 years since playing it in 2D. All the features of old combat are still there which is to say materia, summons, etc. The 3D field now relies on your own movement vs the dreaded RNG. (Example, recognize a coming close attack, you gotta physically move away from the target.) Controlling all your characters at once can be tricky but it gets easier and eventually intuitive, even though it's frustrating at times bc each person in your party that you aren't directly in control of goes on full-scale attack mode. (See example.). Some of the old content that is cringey in these times are still present but whatever. It is a wonderful remake, one of the best I've ever played and absolutely worth it for all players who have or have played the original.

Ok it's an awesome game... the graphics look great and I can relive an amazing RPG from my teens by current graphical standards. Rated with the best all time RPG's, its difficult to drop a star. But for as long as we waited for this game to release, I really wish there was an option for the true classic turn based fighting system. Just for old school gamers like me, it would really complete the whole nostalgic experience. Just sayin.

Having never played the original FFVII, this game is a complete surprise for me. I'm enjoying it a ton. The only complaint I have is the voice acting sometimes doesn't match up with the character's mouth movements. Everything else is a joy.

Final Fantasy VII Remake strikes the perfect balance of nostalgic call backs from the original and modern content improvements. The battle system in particular will feel surprisingly satisfying for new and old fans alike. Highly recommend.

If you have never played FF7 you're missing out on the adventure of a lifetime. Do yourself a favor and check out this re-imagination of a timeless classic. The new battle system is very well crafted too! Highly highly recommended title.

It's rare to find a remake that ends up being as good as FF7. Both the gameplay and graphics are amazing. The only major downside is that PS4 owners are essentially locked out of the Yuffie DLC.

A very faithful adaption on the 1997 classic. Love the narrative, the soundtrack is perfect, and the gameplay mechanic are great especially for causal players. Highly recommend this game if your a fan the original game.

For those who played the original back in the day you definitely want to pick up this newly remastered version the graphics story and characters are beautiful gameplay is excellent you won't be disappointed pick it up today

Once you get to a certain point in the game, you can replay chapters, which is fantastic for people who want the 100% completion, or to see all the possible outfits. The humor is great, the controls smooth, and the graphics gorgeous.

I've been waiting for this remake for quite some time and I have to say that it's impressive and fun to play. They kept the elements that made the original great and there graphics look fantastic. I've put only like 5 hours in so far

I was not expecting this to be as good as it is. This isn't a remake this is a full re-design of Final Fantasy 7. This is how a remake is done. This is one of the finest and most addicting games I've played in a very long time.

Hands down one of the prettiest games on the PS4 and a blast to play! I’ve played through it twice already and I’m planning to do another play through! Even if you didn’t play the original, I would still recommend it!

I loved FF7 as a kid and this remake is as good as I had hoped for. The graphics are amazing and the detail in the design is very much appreciated. There are changes that breathe new life into an old game that I thoroughly accepted.

The graphics and gameplay are fantastic. However the dialogue and side quests can at times feel excessive.

The original Final Fantasy VII was a masterpiece that pushed video gaming beyond what many expected, combining a deep and intricate narrative with a cinematic quality, a beautiful yet perilous world corrupted with evil, and some of the most epic boss battles in gaming history. And despite the remake only expanding upon the first few hours of the game, it perfectly adapts the atmosphere and scale of the original and elevates it to new levels. This is perhaps the new standard for what a remake should do - keep many of the best elements of the original and expand on them heavily, while also adapting its best moments into a modern experience. I won't spoil anything for you, but if you're curious, play the remake as soon as you get the chance, because this is the most epic video game in history.
