If you loved the original, or if you never played it this is a great game. Its got all the parts that were in the original, even the music plays the same tunes at same spots as the original just more modern, with lots of added content and expanded story. Highly recommend. Its more of an action RPG, if you played FF15 it plays like that.

WOW! I never really played the original growing up, but I own both the original version on the original Playstation and now I own this on PS4 and playing it on PS5 looks and plays AWESOME! I haven't beat the game yet, but it is already very captivating and I can't wait to continue to see where this storyline goes!

This is more of an action RPG vs the turn based RPG, however I was very impressed with FF7. The graphics are amazing and the story was very engaging. A warning now, the remake will not follow the story of the original and this game is only about 25% of the original game. It is about a 30-35 hour play though but it is a lot of fun,

Having played the original game as a kid I was worried how well this game would be. It is faster paced than the original in combat and also only covers a small portion of the original so get ready to shell out more money for the rest in a few years. Great game overall for those who have played the original and newcomers to the game.

if you loved the original, you'll love the remake

Great game for long time fans. I do not think this remake would be the best entry point for newcomers to Final Fantasy 7, as it has too many references to the original game. Long time fans, however, will probably love and appreciate the remake a lot more like I did. The combat is a lot better and the story is more of a retelling of the original story. The characters are beautifully designed and the voice acting is top-notch. My only gripe is the game is less than one-third of the original story and feels incomplete. We only get up to the point of leaving Midgar, in the original game.

From the first few minutes with this game, it's evident that it was crafted with a great deal of love and care for the original. The improvements in every respect—gameplay, combat, graphics, voice acting, and more—make this a far superior game to the original, even if it only covers a portion of that game's story.
