This game has far exceeded my expectation. As a fan of the original I appreciate the nuances and new content that drove the story deeper into me to care about what's happening. I do look forward to the next installment. The graphics and gameplay mechanics are seamless and beautifully done.

My favorite game of all time re-made with superior graphics. I was worried the battle system would turn me off as I loved the materia system with turn based combat, but I really enjoyed this system. I feel like they took the best of turn based and real time action and rolled it into one.

As an old school FF7 player, I can honestly say that they did an incredible job of integrating the original story line into a modern playing experience. Highly recommend as the graphics are incredibly detailed and the storyline is just as compelling as the original. I can’t wait for part 2 to be released!

The graphics are fantastic. The fighting mechanics are so much fun. The story is more understandable now that I'm 20 years older, even though it is still a convoluted RPG. There are only a couple of additions that I think were unnecessary. Overall, it's great and I can't wait for future installments.

I didn’t get to play the original ff7. So this remake is a new experience for me. I think the graphics and story are great. My major complaints would be, I feel there is way to much dialogue and limited world travel. I hope that the upcoming installments will allow more word travel or a different setting to make the game play even more better for me. I enjoy the challenge of having to strategize my battles. Overall I’m satisfied with my purchase, and can’t wait to experience the rest of the game. By the way I’ve played almost all of the FF games. And my favorite it 9.

I have only played the original up to where they escaped Midgar (because my fiancée made me). The old graphics are just too mehhh. I have put about 6 hours into the remake, and it is way more doable. There is definitely a lot of filler to make it seem like a “full” FF game, but it’s great all around.

I've been thoroughly enjoying playing through the FF7 remake! As a child I loved the original FF7, and while sometimes games don't age well when looking back, the remake brings you back to what you loved with a current, modern aesthetic. It's truly the best of both worlds!

Just bought this recently haven't put it dwn. Great gameplay and story. Had the orginal played it quite.a bit but honestly never been a fan of turned base games. Thats why i almost didn't get this. But its sort of combination of hack and slash turn based . Also the story is where its at.

Game is fun to play and watch. My daughter has been playing this game series since it first debuted years ago. She loves the gameplay and we love watching her play it. It looks difficult to play but she makes it seem easy. Graphics and story line are awesome. You won't be disappointed.

May not be the same as the original with its real time combat but the story comes through and the visuals are amazing. Totally worth it if your a fan. Heck you don't have to be a fan as its a great rpg on its own. Looking forward to the rest of the story in the future.

While most people who played are fans of the original, I've never played the original FF7. I know about it because of how big it is in gaming culture. From what I know, this expands upon the original game's opening chapter. While some feel that this is only a fraction of the original game, I got plenty out of it. My first playthrough was 40+ hours. There's a lot of detail but into the game. Gameplay wise is that the game is very smooth. Combat was well paced and fun. Graphics did suffer as the games shows the console's age. There were obvious trade offs to make the characters and cinematic look great as the cost of some environment detail. That's okay to keep the game running smoothly. If there is any fault is that there isn't much replay value as the game story if very linear and there aren't true decision making choices. It makes sense because this is the start of FF7 and (SPOILER) a tad of reboot at the end.

This is not a strict recreation of the older FF7 game with better graphics, but it is expanded and updated with new battle mechanics, story and excellent voice acting. As a fan of the original I have not been disappointed at all and this is, for me, one of the best games of 2020.

Having played the original FFVII when it first came out, I was really looking forward to this remake release. It did not disappoint! Great blend of real-time and ATB battles. I love how the materia in the weapons change depending on what you equip. Wonderful graphics and smooth gameplay!

the best Final fantasy to date, its a remake or complete overhaul of the original. if you played the original this one has a lot of surprises that are totally different and the battle system is really responsive and you have your choice to use the modern style or old style.

The classic FF7 was one of my favorite games as a teenager. I had very high expectations of the remake and I loved every second of it. The story has evolved a bit in a good way and the combat is infinitely better than FFXV's "hold a button until you need a potion."

Where to begin, such an amazing experience for a huge fan of the original back in 97. The new battle system mixed with turn based and action is perfect. The visuals are simply breathtaking, I catch myself sitting and staring at Midgar more often than not. Great job Square!!

I’ve never played a Final Fantasy game prior to this. This game blew my mind. Running on a PS4 Pro, it’s visuals were gorgeous and the combat systems hooked me. I fell in love with the characters and can’t wait to play the subsequent sequels.

Its hard to remake a classic. And while I would prefer a visual upgrade to the existing game rather then what we were delivered, I cant complain too much about what was given. Yes, there are way too many small cut scenes to mask loading times. And yes, the side quest could be thrown out. And yes, the textures are hit and miss. But the overall package delivers excellent redone combat and enough changes is the story to entertain both new and old fans. Strong recommend.

After about 10 minutes of playing the game I was absolutely in love with. I never really got into FFVII on PS1, only played a few hours here and there, this remake I cannot put down. It looks great, sounds great, story and characters are top notch.

Even though I never played the original, the story and character are amazing. Gameplay wise, is the best RPG with Action element made by SquareEnix up to date. It seems that they followed the critics made in FF15, and applied the best elements to this game.
