    Bought it for my son - he enjoys the game. Not sure what the other version has in terms of game play but he doesn't seem to be interested so it may not be considered a "great" game.

    Out of the two starter Fates games, this one is definitely harder, but it also has much better maps with much more variety. It's much better than Birthright, although both are worth playing. The story, however, is absolutely horrible. You'll cringe repeatedly. You'll laugh at "stoic" characters making braindead decisions and having baseless morals. If you can ignore that, it's a great game. But that can be pretty hard to ignore, especially certain chapters. Overall the characters are likeable enough and if you like the FE franchise you'll like the game.
