This is exactly what we needed for sending our 8 year old across the country to be with his uncle for a week, it gave us some peace of mind while helping him feel independent. Calls and texts work fantastic, it uses its own app which is just fine and more secure, but location ping also shows on maps for me. Location updates within seconds and is extremely accurate. Price is good and he loves wearing it. We disabled all games.

My 10-year-old loves this watch! It makes movement fun with games and rewards, and I love being able to track their location, message or call them through the app. Setup was easy, and the safety features give me peace of mind. Only downside is the battery—it needs to be charged daily. Still, it’s a great option for kids who aren’t ready for a phone.

I missed the last step in my research. Silly me missed the part about a network subscription being required to use the watch for basic use like telling time or playing games. It was cheaper than most major phone networks by a few dollars, but still was not what I thought. Either way, my kids love it, and will circle the house to meet their steps goals. I do like how they can call each other and both parents directly. Just make sure you read the fine print before you buy.

We’ve had this watch for our kiddo just over half a year now. It’s been great for all features except when it comes to the game mode the watch can slow down and crash often. Otherwise the GPS, calling, and texting feature are great and extremely safe/ secure. We chose this specifically as we can pick who they communicate with and do not have access to the internet of the capabilities to “buy” anything in an App Store. We also utilize the school feature so they can wear it daily. You pay less a year for the service than a cell phone as well at $10 a month. Would buy again!

My 9 year old started having interest in smart phones and smart watches recently and was asking about getting a phone or a watch for Christmas. I was so relieved when his father found a smart watch that allowed my son to have smart watch capabilities without actually getting a smart phone. We got one for him and his 8 year old brother, and so far it's been such a great decision. Them being able to so easily call me and text me is so helpful. I also really like that I can easily see where they are, regardless of whether or not they're near Wifi, and it also tells me whether or not they actually have their watch on their wrist. So far, this watch is a real game-changer for us and I couldn't be happier with it.`

I purchased this for my 5-year-old daughter. Overall, it's a nice purchase. But for the annual subscription that you have to pay, I wish that you got more out of the device. Battery life is not a full day and there is no sleep tracking. It's a very basic tracker and is mostly useful for GPS and calling/message your children.
I understand that there will always have to be a subscription because of the selling point of this device, but I feel like outside of having cellular capability, it isn't offering much compared to other Fitbit devices. I do like that in order for someone to communicate with your children, YOU have to approve them through the app (more safe vs having a connected watch that accepts calls/messages from anyone). I also like that your kids can connect to friends.

I absolutely love this product. I bought this for my niece last year and it was definitely a big hit with her. I love the fact that it also has GPS installed in it and it can make calls if needed.

One of the best gifts I could have ever gotten my 8 year old. Only downside is the subscription and the battery life. Would be nice if it could last more than a day but it’s great be able to track and communicate with my child with control over who can contact him and who he can contact. Now we are randomly getting texts from our sweet boy telling us to have a nice day and that he loves us. Can’t wait for our middle child to be old enough to buy him one as well.

Bought almost a year ago and worked great to make phones and text with my child but then it stopped charging. The replacement was stuck in fastboot. Hoping third times a charm.

My daughter loves her new watch. She is able to keep in contact with us as she explores the neighborhood and develops her sense of independence. I like that we control who can contact her and it can't be used to call other friends with the same watch, only contacts approved through the parent app. Since she is under 13, there is a managed account, and we are setting up a special managed debit card to link so she can use tap to pay within limits. She is too young for a phone, so this is the best solution for us.

Hey there, HirdeshS. We’re happy you’re enjoying the build quality and some features on the Ace LTE. That said, we hear your concerns regarding locating the device and the Ace Pass subscription. What prevents the device from showing your child's location are the following:
1. Their watch is powered off. 2. Their watch has low or no GPS signal. 3. Their watch isn't connected to the internet. 4. Their watch has been off wrist for an extended period.
Regarding the Ace Pass: The Ace Pass provides LTE calling, messaging, location sharing, and Fitbit Arcade games on a child's device, removing the necessity for a separate phone plan. Activation and all features require an Ace Pass data plan.

Easy to set up and it gives you an option to reach out to your kids without the distraction of a smart phone.
It also checked the box of tracking your kids.

My kid can't get enough of this watch. Although there are more technologically advanced watches like the pixel watch and the Samsung he admits that you can't do as many fun things on those watches
