Nice little watch to play and keep in contact
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The watch is used by my daughter who’s out more and more but not yet needing a phone. It’s hard to find something she’ll wear and also something easy to setup and control how to use it. So far the Fitbit ace fits the bill as a great option for parents with kids that don’t yet need a phone. The setup itself was very easy, just plug it in and turn it on, then download the app. You’ll need a google account to sign in and then create a kids profile. The connection to the watch is easy too, you’ll just enter a code and get it paired. It was a little odd as after setup it looked like it was ready to go, but it was doing an update so was a little stuck, though after I waited a few min it said it got an update and everything worked great. You can then set up the contact your child is able to call or text with. So far it was just my wife and I, and when making the call, it comes in just like a phone call but through the app. The messages are also in the app. This seems to work OK since we both have it to see where she is, but if you had someone not in the family not sure how it works. It’s nice as we can see her location as she is around and easily communicating with her. It also lets her have a watch and there are a few games she can play. So far, we’re enjoying it.

Fitbit Ace LTE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love the Fitbit Ace LTE for our child. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the watch itself is very easy for a kid to use. Everything feels responsive and snappy, with no lag or frustration. The sound quality is surprisingly good for a kids’ watch, and we haven’t had any issues so far. Communication has been clear and reliable, which gives us peace of mind. What really makes this watch stand out is that it’s a great alternative to buying a phone. Our child gets the ability to stay connected without the distractions or responsibilities of a smartphone. Overall, it’s a well-designed, dependable smartwatch that balances functionality, simplicity, and safety for kids. Highly recommended for parents looking for a smart first device.

A really nicely done kids wearable.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this to replace a Verizon gizmo that my son had scratched up. This is clearly a nicer product than the Gizmo was. The app is not as full featured as some other children's watch applications, but that's something I can live with. The connectivity is relatively inexpensive. My son loves the watch, and I love the fact that he gets incentives for movement, which his previous watch did not do. So overall a really nice device.

Fun watch, but limited connectivity
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really easy and fun introductory smart watch for my 5th grader. There are a lot of fun games you can play that involve movement, and it keeps my kiddo busy and active throughout the day. You can customize the meter that tells you how close you are to your goals, so your kid can set it to whatever cute animal they want. And for parents, through the app you can call and text your child, track movement, and most importantly, track where they are. However, I wish the connectivity wasn't so limited. You simply cannot contact other kids with this watch. I get that limiting who your child can contact is for the child's safety and prevents the child from constantly communicating with friends. However, it should be the parents choice whether to allow contact with certain friends. My child has a cousin a few years older who sometimes watches her and we wanted my child to be able to contact her. I went through the process with her dad to set a gmail account up for her and to download the app on her phone, but when I tried to send her an invite it wouldn't let me because its a child's account. It's frustrating that I can't allow my child to communicate with someone that is sometimes responsible for her. My other issue with this product is that it requires all contacts to have a gmail address. No one else in my family had a gmail address. So I had to have everyone set one up (really hard with grandma and grandpa) so that they could communicate through the app. I don't see why the app just can't work with any email address. Seems like a way to just get more users. All in all, a good introduction to communication for kids. However, the connectivity on this is way too limited. I foresee having to replace this watch pretty quickly as my child gets into the middle school years and wants to communicate with friends.

Best smart watch for a kid
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this for our child for her birthday last year. (2025) She does like it, but still getting used to wearing it. Unforturnatly, her school does not like her wearing it because it has the ability to make calls and play games. The features I love about this watch is that while you do have to pay for a subscription, you have the choice to pay monthly or yearly. And when you, the parent, downloads the app attached to the watch, you can call, text, and keep track of where they are. Another feature I love is that you can set "School Times". This means you can set boundaries on the watch so calls, texts, and games are off-limits during school hours. I added a time when it could be used during her lunch. Another feature is that only approved people can call or text this watch. And to do that, you have to send that person an invite through the app for them to download. No subscription is needed for them to buy. An invite is needed to call or text the watch. There's no other way for the child to be contacted otherwise.

Peace of mind when not ready for a phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought as a Christmas present for our 9-year-old son. He absolutely loves it, and so do his Dad and I! It's super easy to set up and add contacts we've approved. We feel better knowing we can see where he is using the tracking feature and we can text/call him as we are not ready to purchase him a phone. Our son enjoys watching the noodle move as he is active thruout the day. The fishing game is his favorite! Highly recommend!

Absolutely Perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a smart watch user for years at this point ive always wanted to share my satisfaction in the device with friends and family but there was never really anything that hit the spot for use with children.. until now. With a normal smart watch it could potentially have many issues with things like loading the right apps or having difficult parental control or even simply calling people or places without restrictions. Parents you know what I mean when I mention those things its the same feeling you get when you try to figure out if its time for them to have a phone or not. With this watch all of those things and more are just resolved in the easiest best ways possible and you DONT NEED A PHONE TO USE IT! I had the pleasure of giving this to my 12 year old daughter as an early birthday gift. We set it up together after fitting with the included band. The setup was extremely easy and very very child friendly which was a really pleasant surprise. When going through it you as a parent can select absolutely everything that your child is able to do. You can enable things like location services to track them, allow to text and or call certain contacts you add, even set screen time limits and basically make it useless during school hours so they dont get distracted doing school work which is really awesome. I personally had a google family link account already setup from her having a Chromebook as well which I was able to add the watch to this account perfectly and smoothly. It even integrated right away within our phone apps on my wife and I phones to begin to monitor use immediately. When I say it was the easiest to setup possible it really was. Now she’s had a really good time with the watch itself at this point as it sets realistic goals for both physical activity (such as walk 500 steps to unlock the next level or game) and games that are built in. She was able to create basically an avatar of herself on it that becomes your character she can use to play the games with. Tracking steps, movement, having actual cellular ability to call or text us from a bike ride has been so nice and without worry of her doing questionable things is even more piece of mind. It cannot get any better for a device like this for a child I wish these came out years ago for my older lol. Strap is of good quality. The screen is really high quality and gets BRIGHT and even brighter when in direct sunlight with the settings on for it. It has a swipeable menu that shows you battery life, connectivity etc. Battery life is extremely good we just have her put it on the included charger out in the kitchen before bed and shes excited to put it back on the next day after breakfast again and everything is ready to go with new goals and games ready to play and progress with. It really is a dream come true in a device like this I cant praise it enough.

Great kids smart watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this watch for my 9 year old daughter, and she loves it. The calls sounds great and the messaging app is also good. I wish it had a feature of calling/messaging another kid who has the same watch, With parental permission of course. You can not do that. It only goes to the parents ace app. To me the plan is pretty good at only $10 a month when paying for the year. It does need to be charged about once a day but also charges up pretty fast. Would definitely recommend this watch for young kids.

Great smartwatch for kids with excellent functiona
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Fitbit Ace LTE for my child, and it has been an excellent investment. What I love the most is that it includes features like GPS, calling, and messaging through the app, which gives me peace of mind as a parent. I can easily communicate with my child while they’re playing or at extracurricular activities. The battery life is decent, and the design is modern yet kid-friendly. It’s comfortable to wear, and my child loves using it to track steps and stay active. The water resistance is another big plus—I don’t have to worry if they wear it in the rain or while washing their hands. One area for improvement could be adding more watch face customization options, as they are somewhat limited. Other than that, the Fitbit Ace LTE delivers on everything it promises and more. It’s the perfect tool to keep kids connected and active at the same time. I highly recommend it!

Great watch for growing kids
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is exactly what we needed for our 10 year old kid this summer. He is becoming more and more independent and this watch gives us the peace of mind to let him roam a bit more. We can track him from the app via GPS, he can text people within his family, call us directly from the watch, and helps him feel safer our there on his own.

Good first smart watch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son loved the watch, it motivates him to be active, I liked that it is balanced and not addictive, the only thing I didn't like is that to stay in touch it has to be through the fit bit app, anyone who wants to add him to their contacts needs to download the app and register.
