This is exactly what i was looking for my son. The amount of control you have is spot on.

Great watch for my 10 y/o. The unique games have motivated him to move more during the day and the ability to compete as a family by adding my Apple Watch steps is an added bonus.

The fact that you are forced into a monthly plan to even get the watch CONNECTED to a phone drives me nuts. If you're interested in a Fitbit for your child, just get the regular one. Now, if the monthly plan is a selling point for you, enjoy it because it's handy. As far as the watch itself, it does exactly what it should and I'm very pleased with that aspect. Nice display, really like the band, comes with a little "bumper" to act as a protector which is awesome.

We've used several different watch form factors for communication with our kiddo and this watch satisfies most the boxes I look for: 1. LTE so they can communicate without WiFi (assuming plan added) 2. Watch form factor to make it easy to carry around and they don't get in trouble messing with a phone. 3. School mode so they're not playing games during the day. Overall they really enjoyed this watch over their last one because it had more interaction. The last one was fairly simple and was basically just for calls/text that were very scratchy due to the cheap internals. The strap was super comfortable and they were quick to put it on and replace their old watch. Setup was fairly easy as long as you have a Google account and our initial tests with messaging and calls were very clear. I could hear them perfectly and they were able to easily message me. The charging system is magnetic and only works one way, so that helps make it easy to align and short of it not charging once, it was easy enough for them to drop off at night and be ready for the next morning. Couple of things I think could use improvement: 1. Needing to be part of a family plan in order to allow changes. I have older kids that are on one of the parents family plans and the smallest is on the other so it's hard to integrate if we don't want to combine the family plans. 2. LTE was spotty when it came to making and placing calls. I was able to easily call them but sometimes calling out didn't work as well. 3. Battery life takes a big hit when playing games. This forces us to tell them no games at all except when they're home so it doesn't inadvertently die when they're out and about. School mode will help enforce this during school days which is probably the most important time frames, but definitely have experienced them wanting to play quite a bit and then it was dead by the time they might be headed off where it'd be nice to have tracking available like at a fair or such.

My kids were thrilled to receive this! We set up the monthly data plan and are extremely impressed on how well it works. The calling feature and text messaging feature through the app works great!

Great gift for kids! Would definitely recommend to anyone who is contemplating on getting a cell phone. This is an alternative to allowing them to have so much so access to the internet at a young age.

We are excited to give this watch to our son for Christmas. We want him to have something in case of an emergency so he can get ahold of us but are not wanting to give him a phone yet.

The Google Ace Watch isn’t that great, signal reception is unreliable, it takes time to connect, and it’s expensive for monthly subscription. I would strongly prefer an Apple Watch for kids with cellular with better network over this watch.

I bought two watches for my nieces and they love them. The service is good and im able to communicate with them with no issue.

I found this product to be very disappointing. While it’s marketed as a watch that can make calls, it charges the same $9.99 monthly subscription as other LTE watches but offers only half the functionality. To make and receive calls from your child, you need to use a specific app. Additionally, you can only add adult contacts who have Gmail accounts, which excludes grandparents, teenage siblings, and many others. You can’t add neighbors or friends unless they install the Google app, create an account, and go through the setup process, which is quite inconvenient. For $10 a month, you’re essentially getting a device that Google uses to increase its user base and track your child, family, and friends. Moreover, you are required to sign up for their subscription service before setup. If you accidentally subscribe for a year and decide to return the product, you won’t get a refund for the subscription. Overall, this product feels like an overpriced toy with limited functionality.
