I like the sleek style, however it doesn't have some of the features I find that I need. My fault for not researching thoroughly. I would like it to have a start/stop counter when exercising and/or maybe a heart rate monitor. I can do an entire hour circuit training and the thing doesn't even show that I did anything so if I could somehow set a timer and pick the exercise at least it would record something. I have to manually enter stuff I do in class all the time and then it doesn't give you calories spent. I shouldn't have to do that.

    Good but with Flaws

Have to say I like the tracker, but that its one flaw drives me crazy. Just not crazy enough to take it back and get a different version. Tapping the screen to get it to cycle through is a hit and miss thing. Sometimes it works and others I am playing the entire Beethoven 5th symphony before it starts to flip through. I have researched it online and found that I only have to hit it a few dozen times where the band meets the face, so that kept me from returning the band. I like the app and the bright color. Also I downgraded from the Samsung Gear2 for the slim fit.

I bought this for my wife and she loves it. The Fitbit features work great and she loves the style and size because it more like a bracelet than a watch.

I had a Nabu X smartband, very simple smartband for a little over a year, bought it at Best Buy, and after awhile I wanted an upgrade but wasn't planning on going full smartwatch. Fitbit was coming out with the Alta, something that looked like the Nabu X but with a nice little screen that shows who's calling, shows a nice preview of a text if its too long of a text, and is better at tracking my steps. It looks nice, doesnt look like a typical fitness tracker and thats one of the other reasons i like it. Great buy

I recently visited with a friend who had a Fitbit alta and I asked her several questions about the product. I was intrigued by the Fitbit and all it's many functions. I was my surprised when my boyfriend bought me one just because he loves me. The product was really easy to install and I love it. It has the sleep function which was really interesting to see how I sleep at night. The counting steps and other functions are also fantastic. Also, tells you the time which is great.

My Alta was a gift and a replacement for my Flex. I couldn't be happier with it. I love the reminder to move feature - it's become a game to see how many hours I can get steps. I also like the display - I can see how many steps I need to hit my goal without having to check my phone. I'd definitely recommend this to a friend!

I had a Charge; but the band broke; the Alta has a better band clasp. The Alta edges are rounded and easy to slip sleeves over. Long Battery life. It's far better than the standard Charge which cost the same. I bought extra; the leather band which is very comfortable and neautral color; matches everything.

Exactly what I wanted in a fitbit

I really just wanted my fitbit to be a wristband that was able to count my steps, and that's exactly what this is. I like that it will tell me the time and notify me if I have received a text. It's simple and doesn't have any of the bells or whistles that the other ones do.

The Alta is very comfortable and durable for wearing all the time. In addition to tracking activity it also tracks sleep patterns and how long you sleep. This has been a great feature and very interesting to see how many hours of sleep I get and how soundly the sleep is.

For those that say it won't light up when they tap it, you should tap it on the right of the screen. It may count a few extra steps here and there but it's motivating! I have challenges with friends on the app.

I bought this because a lot of my coworkers had a fitbit and I could see how motivated they were by being able to track and cheer on each other. Now they are motivating me and cheering with and for me now. It is very comfortable to wear...even while sleeping.

I love my new Alta FitBit. It acts as an incentive to keep moving. Also love that it tracks your sleep. There was a small glitch when syncing, but FITBIT was aware of it and instructions were posted on-line. Has been working fine since then.

It took me a bit to figure out how to remove my other Fitbit and sync this one. Overall easy to use. Only gripe so far is not being able to tell battery level unless looking at sync. Sends you an email when it is already at a very low level.

I've been wearing activity trackers for about eight years now and I've had some really good ones during that time, but they all eventually wear out or some of the features stop working. Completely understandable for a device that gets worn 24/7. I've had Fitbit in the past and have been happy with their performance, so I thought it would be a good choice again. Well, I've been nothing but disappointed in this particular model. Let me just say that in comparison to it's predecessors, the step tracking seems to be more accurate. That being said, how this device interacts with third party fitness apps is a huge step backward. I like to use several different third party apps to track my fitness and participate in the many challenges that they offer. My last fitness tracker (not a Fitbit), interacted beautifully with them all, and without any further interaction on my part, registered all the specs needed for the challenges that I joined. The Alta registers absolutely nothing in any challenge. When I contacted the apps I use to see if I was doing something wrong, they told me that Fitbit doesn't sync the right information for this to work. And while my steps show up on my third party apps website, nothing is tracked as a "workout". The second thing I'm really unhappy about is the "silent alarm" feature. On all my previous trackers (even Fitbit), the silent alarm has no trouble waking me up every morning. The Alta has a vibration mechanism that's so weak, I barely ever feel it. On top of that, it only tries twice to wake you, then it stops. Each of the two vibration sessions happen for only a few seconds, so it's not persistent enough to actually wake me (or, I suspect anyone else either). So it seems the only thing it's good at, is tracking steps and syncing with it's own app, which by the way, is nothing to write home about. In the end, I guess I purchased a really expensive pedometer, and nothing more. I can't understand why Fitbit is so popular, it has a lot of catching up to do in my opinion, to be able to call itself an activity tracker. It's far and away the most disappointing device I've ever used.

The FitBit Alta is great. It is sleek and stylish. My only complaint is that it doesn't track stairs. I'm sure FitBit will fix that at some point in an updated version.

The Alta Fitbit it the best tracker, I can simply glance down at my wrist and know how I am doing on steps and general other step information and always meet my goal!
