I bought this Fitbit in purple for my mother-in-law. She wanted something easy to use to count her steps but not so cheap that it would break like all of her other pedometers. I took a star off because she had trouble setting it up online. The Fitbit readout was stuck on the setup message and wouldn't update. Eventually she got it to work and now likes it. This model doesn't measure heart rate, but she didn't care about that. She likes the time feature as a watch.

I have been looking at getting a Fitbit or something similar for the past few years but honestly never saw any that looked stylish enough in my opinion. This one is finally small enough that it looks like a bracelet. I really love being able to get notifications from my phone via Bluetooth. The battery life is amazing and it is very comfortable. Kinda bummed it doesn't have a heart rate tracker but after reading how unreliable they are I'm not too upset. Highly recommended

I got this unit specifically to track my steps so that I can determine how sedentary I am on any given day and to provide reminders to get up and move around if I stayed seated too long. It has done exactly that and looked good doing it. The battery lasts a long time between charges. I was torn between getting the model with the heart rate monitor and this one, but I haven't really thought about the HR issue until just now, so I guess I didn't go wrong by getting this one.

The Alta activity tracker is a good value priced tracker that combines features, appearance, and app support. The battery last several days. The app and the ability to do challenges with family/friends is quite good. It is also nice and slim in appearance for those who do not want a large band. We liked it so much that we ended up buying another for my mother-in-law, Our family has the flex and the charge 2 as well so we have a basis for comparison.

I have owned a Fitbit Surge (wayyy too big), Fitbit Charge HR (totally solid, still a little bigger than I'd like, and currently being lent to my sister to get her hooked) before my purchase of the Alta. I knew when I first saw them advertised that I'd want one based upon looks alone. It is very important to not e that this little tracker really IS lovely and stylish. To some that WILL matter - especially to those that may not need the HR info (I never used mine), or altimeter. I love the new 250 step reminders per hour (that you can set/customize) - it actually is a great feature that does encourage you to move a bit more. That is really the only new item that isn't on the Surge or Charge HR. As I said there is no GPS option, no bluetooth music control, no altimeter (floor climbing tracker), and no HR monitor. I haven't tested the notifications for texts or calls feature - I tend to keep that off as I have my phone with me most of the time and have no desire to be bombarded OR drain the battery. OH the battery on this thing is AMAZING. Minimum 5 days - sometimes 6-7. It's great. My only real con is that the tap feature can be hit or miss. The quick view, like with the Charge HR can be hit or miss. But, I chalk those up to small annoyances. I'm looking forward to getting another band to switch out when the impulse hits, but as I write this I've only used the teal color. NOTE about the Large size. I used the Large size on the Charge Hr and this Fitbit Alta. It seems to me with the slimmer profile that it is possible I could have used the small size and still been fine. I've only 2 holes showing with the Large after wrapping it all of the way around - so much to spare! I hope that makes sense.

I've had the Fitbit flex for years. I decided it was time to upgrade. Boy, did I upgrade. The Alta makes it easier for me to keep track of where I'm at. The display is easy to read, and reminds me when it's time to take a walk. If you're just trying to shed a few pounds, or if you're working hardcore for a goal, this is one item you'll enjoy, for a long time.

I like the Fit Bit Alta quite a bit so far. I have the large and it fits well, I believe the small would have been a bit tight at it's largest length. Holds a charge very well, I get an email when I need to put it on to charge, so no surprise dead fitbit. It will give little encouraging prompts to hit target goals for the hour. Need to mark it as your dominate hand as it does seem to have a higher than I think is correct step count.

I was looking for a fitness tracker that has was able to track my steps, calories, and sleep, and act as a tool that would help motivate me from day to day. The fitbit Alto does all of this and a little more. I've had experience with multiple versions of the fitbit, and this one does not disappoint. I always recommend fitbit, and would recommend you identify your fitness goals, and choose from the various trackers that fitbit offers.

This was a gift for my Dad. Even though he's almost 70 years old, he had no problem setting it up. It is now an indispensable part of his routine as he strolls around town!

Great product! Bought the Fitbit so I could earn enough credits to earn a discount for my medical coverage thru my employers wellness plan. It made that very easy (connected to the wellness plan online). Once I earned my credits, Fitbit Alta made me want to continue to focus on my wellness. I love the feature that shows you how much sleep I get. Also live the get up and move reminders. Fantastic product! Highly recommend!!!

I have been struggling with trying to get healthier. I decided that this summer was the best time to start. The phone app that walks you through setting up a Fitbit account, has many options for tracking different points of health like exercise, water intake sleep, etc. It allows for you to reach out to friends and compete against them week to week for steps. All in all, this was one of the best purchases of my lifetime!

i like that that alta is small and feel light on my wrist. It has good battery life, lasted almost 1 week. However, after a couple days I noticed my floors were not counted. Apparently it doesn't have the capability, which surprised me since even my old charge has it. Maybe they put everything into a better battery. My old charge has terrible battery life. I ended up returning it for the charge 2 HR

I owned a Fitbit Surge for a year and a half and really liked all the features. It finally broke on me but with Geek Squad warranty I got an option to get something else. I went with the Alta because it has the watch and is alot slimmer and nicer looking than the Surge. The battery life is fantastic and only thing it doesn't have is the heart rate and GPS which I didn't think were very realiable anyways.

I have been a Fitbit user for years. I tried to switch to an Apple Watch but didn't like the size and missed competing with friends. The Alta is a great size and does everything I need. The only thing I wish it did was heart rate monitoring but that isn't a must for me.

Fitbit scored with this new device! I love the design and the larger screen for displaying information. The text notifications are perfect for quick glances while working or doing tasks. The battery stays charged for at least a week (I have all-day sync disabled). It totally motivates to get moving though the day with move reminders. I absolutely love the choice to go for this one instead of the Charge HR.
