Customers are saying

Customers regard the Alta Activity Tracker (Large) favorably for its sleep tracking, ease of use, and comfortable size. Many appreciate the long battery life and stylish design, along with features like step tracking and notifications. However, some users wish for a heart rate monitor and improved water resistance. A few also noted challenges with the clasp mechanism.

Wrist band horrible. App just okay

I used to own a jawbone UP3 until it stopped syncing to my iPhone. Try this since I did not want a big bulky wrist band on my wrist when I slept at night. What I liked - the option to set you time format (yep, that's about it) What I didn't like - the "clasp" to attach it to your wrist (to hard to press the clasp together since your fingers need to fit UNDER the band (stupid design). Their app didn't do a good job on listing menu items from common eateries like Panera or Starbucks. And the rubber wrist band irritated my wrist. I know Fitbit has pretty much cornered the market but for the money I found the size, functionality and band of the UP much better.

    Not as accurate

I had a original FitBit Flex before. But it died after a good 1.5 years, so I finally decided to upgrade to the Alta. It does have some really cool features: I miss fewer calls, check my phone less frequently, and screen texts/calls with the phone alerts. It's pretty great at automatically documenting exercise, even the simple walks I take and forget to log. However, one of the things I have noticed is that the Alta is not is accurate with counting steps. There would be times where I would walk, but not swing my arms, and those steps wouldn't count. But if I was vigorously talking with my hands or waving, those would count as steps. I feel that's a pretty glaring flaw for a $90+ pedometer. I plan on keeping it and hoping I'm meeting my goals, but I wouldn't treat those numbers as the gospel truth.

I replaced my FitBit Flex with the FitBit Alta and I am very pleased with the change. The Alta is great at reminding me to move. My job has my on my feet a lot but it's amazing how sometimes the hour is nearing and I haven't moved my 250 steps and the Alta reminds me to start stepping. I love my Alta.

It's my 3rd Fitbit... first to wear on the wrist. The wristband is at first kludgy as it is really hard to snap in the band's holes. Love the readout esp when you get a phone call during your walk or run. Hope it is waterproof as the label stated it was 'good to something like 36ft underwater.'

Purchase was a gift to help keep track of steps for a healthier lifestyle. The only drawback is that the band does get in the way a bit when washing dishes, gardening, etc. - seems to be thicker once you wear it for an extended period versus the few minutes you have it on when trying it out in store.

I purchased this as a gift for my fiancé. He absolutely loves it! He doesn't go anywhere without wearing it. I like the fact the color( black and gold) goes with everything and it can go from a casual look to a suited look. I would def. purchase this again. I am thinking about getting one for myself.

I purchased this product as a gift for my mother. She wears it all of the time and loves using it to track the amount of exercise she gets in every week. Is it the most impressive activity tracker when it comes to features? No. Can it do the things it was designed to do well? Definitely.

I have used the Alta for over a month now, no big complaints. Once and awhile tapping the Alta does not activate it's display. Enjoying the text notifications on the watch. The Fitbit app is great for tracking activity and sleep. I'm syncing it with the My Fitness Pal app for dietary intake.

Very stylish fitbit, very comfortable even while sleeping (usually on a loose setting). Tracks what I need. Just wish I could customise it more, like adding labels to the alarms so I can use them l I keep reminders. The band was difficult to figure out at first but it is very comfortable once on.

The only issue my wife seems to have with it is the lack of compatibility with the jewelry-ish wristbands that the older versions can use. There are situations where a little more style would be better than a plain fitness wristband. Hoping that, in time, more options will be made available.

I am very disappointed with my new alta. I received the notice that i did 10,000 steps. Later it dropped to 7,000 steps. I know I did well over 10,000.It also is not registering stairs. My fitbit one that I used prior is a lot more accurate. I wanted to switch to a wristband. Not a fan, taking back

I've wanted a Fitbit for over a year now. While my husband was shopping your store for a new computer, and getting it to the Geek Squad for set up, I talked to one of your sales people about the Fitbit. Got it home, worked awhile to get it linked to the iPhone and computer, and it is great.

Only thing I wish they'd change is how the smaller fitbits secure onto your wrist. I have lost two of them now. And the Alta I had just bought a new $50 band for. The holes get stretched out over time and they don't stay latched as well. Everything else was perfect. App works great with it.

I was worried about loosing another Fitbit since they seem to fall off easily. I found with this model if you switch the band around. So that it closes on the inside of your wrist instead of the outside it stays on. Also like to low profile it has. Not as bulky as other. Recommend this style.

With the Fitbit alarm reminding you to move ...several times a day is very helpful! I am retired and it is very easy to sit down and read or watch TV. This Fitbit has got me walking more and my husband joins me most days. The weekly progress helps you stay motivated, thanks Fitbit!!!

The perfect Fitbit for a professional woman. With the ability to change the band to a more watch or bracelet looking link, you can easily transform this Fitbit to go with anything from a business suit to a hot outfit for date night. Finally have a fashionable fitness tracker! Love it!

My wife would NOT let me get her an Apple Watch, which I have and love- but loves her Fitbit. I'm extremely annoyed they haven't adopted a standard charger but it works great for her to track steps and as a watch alternative.

I have had the Fitbit Flex (stopped working), Fitbit Surge, Fitbit Blaze (returned it for the Alta) and this is the perfect one for me so far. Looks good and does what I need, which is count steps, sync with Fitbit app, and have an easy to read watch face. All good, and looks nice too.

I had a Flex and had to replace bands occasionally. Went to get another band at best buy and decided to switch to Alta. I like the look and feel of the Alta much better. And it is much more convenient to read on the wrist rather than having to look at the phone. Glad I switched.

I've been wearing this constantly since purchasing. I like the reminders to move and the text/call alert feature. Only con is the rubber band isn't great for sweating. I've noticed I have to take it off a few minutes after working out or it irritates my extremely sensitive skin.
