It has a low profile look which I adore. I bought this as a gift for one of my friends who wish to be more in fit. From what I have gathered, this was my best bet for my friend. He uses it all the time, battery life does last up to 5 days. The social features does add a bit more to the watch name as well. Overall, a great fitness watch for the average person who doesn't want to bring attention.

I really love my new Fitbit Alta. Besides being a great piece of technology it is also a fashion assessorie - you can change the band on this Fitbit and there are uncountable options, especially off brand. The Fitbit is a gentle reminder to keep moving all day - I also love that if I am close to my cell phone it will also let me know when I am getting a call or text. Great item! I highly recommend it.

Nice style, comfort fit. Doesn't do nearly as much as my Microsoft band 1, but it was the next best thing compared to all the others. I love the fact the bands are interchangeable. Dislike, it doesn't have the heart rate monitor. Guesa that feature will come with the Alta 2!!! Overall it gets the job done. Hence the 3 stars.

I purchased this to replace my original flex. Nice up grade. Battery last a lot longer and I like the fact that I can review the steps, calories, etc. without checking my phone. I've also used the text message and phone call feature. Works well cause I'm always leaving my phone on my desk while and work and can receive the notifications. The reminders to get moving a motivation for me as well.

Love the Alta! Since Purchase it keeps me motivated to keep moving. My Flex died and was without a Fitbit for a while. I am very glad I got the Alta. It is the perfect size and it is very fashionable. Battery lasts about 5 days. When I get a phone call, text, or calendar reminder, the Alta vibrates to alert me. My favorite feature is the alarm that can be set to remind you to move!

This is my 3rd Fitbit and by far my favorite. It allows you set up alerts to get up and move every hour to walk at least 250 steps, alerts you to text messages or phone calls, I also love the ease of wearing it at night to monitor your sleep patterns. One of my old Fitbit would go into sleep mode if it was slightly jarred...this one has no problem with being jarred. Love it!

Works well. It is a step up from the flex in that it has a visual screen. Battery life is very good. I actually get about 10 days before having to recharge. Only thing missing is a heart rate monitor. Still waiting for "steps climbed" to be added eventually. Additionally would also like the option to keep the watch feature on all of the time. Other than that it is very good.

I have a desk job and would sit for hours without moving. I bought this because it reminds you to move every hour. It has worked out perfectly. I also like that it has the time on it, keeps tracks of your daily steps and if you have linked to your phone you can see who is calling or texting you.

Pros: --Helps track steps, active minutes, and estimated calories burned. --Compatible with every fitness app I've used or tried. --keeps a charge for a long time --mine is black, and black goes with everything. --includes a clock with date and day display, which can either be vertical or horizontal based on your preferences --Normally I'm quite lazy, but it chews me out if I sit too long and cheers me on when I meet my goals. Cons: --When you turn your arm up to look at the watch, it doesn't always light up, so you have to tap it. Not always convenient when in meetings and you're trying to be discreet while checking the time. --Weirdly, when I'm sleeping the time display lights up every time I twitch. As a light sleeper, who lives in the country where it's very dark, this causes me to wake up. --It is supposed to track your sleep, if you wear it to bed, but since it wakes me up all the time, I can't trust results. --Understandably, it isn't 100% reliable when tracking steps. Some times it doesn't track all my steps, and sometimes I get 200 steps while in my recliner while watching TV. (I, of course, pretend I really was working that hard. --I have an in-between sized wrist. The small was too snug. The large is *almost* too loose.

I was a little bummed out that this doesn't do heart rate but my wife needed something small on her wrist for time and has stopwatch but also wanted to track fitness and this had everything she needed except for the HR. Got it on sale so can't argue with the price and Fitbit is great because if it breaks you can call and they will send you a replacement.

    Upgrade to Alta

I recently upgraded from the fitbit Flex to the fitbit Alta. Definitely an improvement. The screen provides instant feedback. Battery holds its charge well. Only drawback is that the 'tap' functionality is inconsistent.....sometimes I tap very gently to view info and it will jump through options; other times I have to give it a hard slap and it doesn't register.

The large band fits real nice. I hadnt been sleeping well, so i liked that u can track ur sleep patterns. Sometimes i need to restart my cell to get updated info from fitbit. I wish this one had the heart monitor bc i prefer the slender sleek face instead of the square face. Battery life is gr8. I charge while in the shower. Lasts average of 5 days.

I originally had Charge HR which I loved with except for the fact the band is not interchangeable. I got the Blaze but the face was awkwardly big on my wrist and the metal case around it made it more noticeable. The Alta is PERFECT! More feminine. Great band options. Text message and call notifications. Only drawback is I kinda miss my heart rate monitor.

Perfect for my girlfriend. She liked the concept of my Apple Watch, but wanted something less bulky without all the advanced functionality. Thus the Alta was perfect for her as it tracks activity and can alert her when she gets texts. Would definitely recommend this for those solely looking for an activity tracker with simplistic functionality.

It is nice to keep track of daily activity, it has a tendency to make me more aware and keeps me moving on a more regular basis. Not to mention that if you relax too long it will vibrate and give you a message reminding you it's been awhile since you had any activity. I only wish that it was made waterproof for swimming purposes.

Not water resistant is a deal breaker

I've tried quite a few fitness trackers, most recently the Polar Loop and Loop 2, Garmin Vivosmart and Vivosmart HR. I liked the Loop but the lack of vibration pushed me towards the Vivosmart. The Vivosmart looked great and worked well but the screen kept going out. I returned it 3 times. The Vivosmart HR worked well but I didn't like the looks of it. So I decided to try the Fitbit. The Alta looks great and works well but I missed having a heart rate monitor. I actually prefer to use the chest trap type of monitor as the wrist based ones aren't as accurate and they tend to slide down your wrist during cardio like jogging. But I ended up returning the Alta because it isn't water resistant. Fitbit recommends that you do not shower with it on. To me that is a complete deal breaker. The point of a fitness tracker is to wear it 24/7 and if I have to be worried about getting the thing wet while washing the dishes or taking a shower then that makes it pointless.

Bought as gift for my daughter. She loves it. Can see texts and incoming phone calls. Reminds you to get up and move if sedentary. She likes the feedback about sleep too. We also bought the black band for it. Couple things that could improve is the clasp and charger. It is difficult to get clasped. Sometimes connecting the charger is tricky too.

I bought this for my wife for her birthday and she loves it. It gives her all the data she wants, it's stylish and because it is a "fitbit" she can she what her friends with fitbits are doing as well. The only down side is it is not waterproof. Sure it is water resistant but she can't swim with it. Other then that it is a great little device

I was orginally fgoing to get the Charge HR because my sister and cousin both have it, but i didn't like how it was so bulky. Then this one released and i because of the shape and the modern look i knew this one was the one I wanted. I love it and how it tracks everything. Having a fitbit i have been motivated to work out more and walk more.
