Customers are saying

Customers recognize the Alta Activity Tracker (Small) for its ease of use, small size, and effective step tracking capabilities. Many appreciate the sleek design, long battery life, and sleep tracking features, while also noting the accuracy of its data. However, some users found the band and clasp difficult to use, and the lack of a heart rate monitor was also a common point of feedback. Additionally, the display's readability in sunlight was mentioned as an area for improvement.

    Good Activity Tracker

Bought two of these for my wife and daughter, who were starting on a "group program". The Alta is compact and had the features they wanted - the one weakness is the band. After a lot of activity on small wrists, they seem to deteriorate; not sure if thats from clothing friction or normal wear and tear.

I love all the different ways you can customize the settings. The look is awesome & cool. Had a little glitch problem for a few days but it went away. A couple of consI have to say about it is I really wish the touch screen was more sensitive and I really wish it would display the entire text message because it only gives you on average the first 5 words. But my main pro I have to say about it which totally beats the cons is that since I have been using my Fitbit Alta it has allowed me to see my activity level and has encouraged me to be more active. Five weeks into using it I have already lost 11 pounds just by setting daily goals and the fit bit allows me to see where I am in those daily goals

The Fitbit Alta is a great fitness tracker. I’ve had other Fitbits, but this includes a sync with my phone that alerts me to incoming messages and calls. It also reminds me to get moving, which helps when I’m sitting at my desk for too long. Great gift for yourself or someone else.

Slim design allows me to wear the tracker as my watch without a huge thing on my wrist. I love the ability to change the display as well. The silent alarm is great but don't wear it too loosely or you won't feel or hear the vibrations. I previously owned a Charge and if I didn't feel the vibrations of the alarm I would hear it. Love that the wristbands are interchangeable. Also, I recommend getting a screen protector just as you would for your phone. I got a small ding in the screen after just 3 days while I was considering the protector I wanted to get. Also, if you have small wrists, get the small. There is plenty of room to adjust the band for the right fit.

I purchased this for my granddaughter for her 13th birthday. It's the perfect size for her. Pretty plum color, stylish and not bulky. Although she Is having some issues with the band.

At the recommendation of a Best Buy Salesperson, I bought the Alta. I was interested in an activity tracker but have little experience, so after asking many questions the salesperson recommended the Alta. I couldn't be happier. The battery life is pretty outstanding and the ability to track movement and constant activity is pretty impressive. This Fitbit doesn't have the heart rate monitor but I didn't really need that anyway. I've had no issues with functionality or wearability so far and I get my weekly updates, set goals and track food no problem. It's an eye opener for me and challenges me to do more, plus allowing me to see what I have done. Get one.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this product! It keeps me aware of how much activity I've had (or not had) through the day. I love the reminder at 10 minutes before the hour, telling me to get my minimum of 250 steps in per hour. I also love the ability to check not only my steps, but my distance, calories burned, and consecutive minutes of activity without having to sync with my phone first. That way I don't have to keep Bluetooth turned on all day and drain my phone's battery. However, I also love how once I've synced with my phone & let the data upload, it will also tie into my MyFitnessPal app, and adjust my daily calories allowed according to my activity!

Purchased as a present for my wife. She has used several different trackers before with varying degrees of success. She likes this one the best so far. Only complaint is that the band is sometime difficult to snap but also means it won't fall off as one of her previous ones did.

I like my Alta and wear it all the time. Learning exactly how to use it took some time, but it tracks pretty accurately. The reason for the four star rating is that the band that comes with it is VERY difficult to clasp especially for anyone more mature (older). I bought a stainless steel magnetic band, love it, looks like a piece of jewelry, and slips on, off, or looser with a simple clasp. I would like it to track walk time after five minutes rather than 10, which is the lowest setting.

I've been using Fitbit Alta for over a month now. It does motivate me to move. On several occasions I counted my steps myself and compared the number with Fitbit Alta. It is accurate. It shows the same number of steps I made on elliptical machine in a gym as well. My unit shows only number of steps and time. This is what I set in the settings. I check the rest of data on my phone when synchronize which do few time a day not all the time. This way my battery lasts up to 10 days, vs up to 5 days that was promised by manufacture. This fact makes me happy. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase

The Alta is easy to use, a simple Fitbit, narrow wristband that can be changed. Wish it was able to track stairs. Easy battery charging cord. This is my second Fitbit, and I can see improvements. I didn’t want all the bells and whistles of other devices.

This is my 3rd fitbit in 3 years. They definitely are not made to last. I don't think trading up to the Alta will matter. It was hard to fasten the first week, but it is much better now. I do like the sleek design and love the fitbit app and customer service. I wish it was more indestructible and waterproof like the Garmin. I also am not found of the tapping to get the time, steps, etc. I liked being able to push the button to go through the settings like the fitbit charge. Basically, I liked my charge better but I like the sleek design of the alta. For the price, I think fitbit can do much better.

My wife bought this to keep track of her steps and to get notifications of texts, reminders, and calls from her phone. She absolutely loves it. I didn't think she'd like a wristband because she's never really worn a watch for any period of time, but she likes this. She's commented many times that she loves the notifications. It's not a smart watch, but it's everything she needed / wanted. The band broke after a few months. The rubber separated from the metal clip that connects it to the tracker. A drop of super glue to reconnect the clip to the band fixed it with no ill effects.

I bought this as a replacement for my Jawbone UP3, which just could not hold a charge after 3 months. I love my Alta! While it is not quite as nice looking as my UP3, is not waterproof and does not track heart rate, it does everything else and stays charged! I love that the Alta can cycle through time, steps taken, calories burned and active minutes on the display. The wrist band is very comfortable (and can be changed--another plus), and I find the step counter accurate. I haven't use it for cycling yet, but I hear that it works well for that. Very happy with my purchase.
