Neat, relaxing, but a challenging interface

We were sent this device for the purpose of review. We are a 50 year old couple with plenty of worries. My husband has eye bags big enough to trigger extra bag fees when we fly anywhere. We have high hopes for this device over time.
The good:
The device has a sleek look, feels very nice to hold, and feels very very nice when the massager is on. Some sample eye serum packs were also included, and very much enjoyed. Charging is easy and long lasting.
The Very Good:
Really, the device feels wonderful. After a long and stressful day, this is a moment of pampering and selfcare that means something.
The ok:
We've only been using the unit for about a week and we have 50+ years of wrinkles and undereye bags. We're including some photos that show that there's been a bit of improvement. Over time, we expect more improvements. The relaxing vibrations, though, mean that we're going to be using it anyway.
The not so good:
The on/off interface is really hard to get the hang of. My husband says he feels like a fool for struggling so long to turn the unit on and off. In truth, it might just be him, but operation could be easier and more obvious.
Would we order it again? Probably. Almost certainly, in fact. It feels great and seems to improving eye wrinkles and undereye bags. After a long day it is really nice.

Uncertain how well it will work for me

The Foreo Iris and I had a bumpy start. It comes with a USB charging cable but no adaptor. Fortunately I had an old iPhone charging adaptor that worked. A computer USB port should also work. I plugged the IRIS in to charge and in less than an hour the charging light stopped blinking, but pressing the “on” button did nothing. On-line I found some information that said it had to be “travel unlocked” prior to charging and that unlocking is done by simultaneously pressing the + and - buttons. The information that came in the package did have lock/unlock instructions, but I assumed that was for future reference. Some frustration could be prevented if a few more words were added to the instructions. Something like “The Iris is locked for shipment. Press the + and - buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to unlock prior to charging”.
I did the unlock and tried charging again. Once again the light stopped blinking in about an hour but it wouldn’t turn on. I ended up leaving it on the charger overnight and the next morning it came on like it is supposed to. A full charge is said to last 100 uses. If a use is 30 seconds x 2 eyes x 2 times per day, that translates to 25 days between charging. The light will blink when the charge is low.
There are 2 modes - SPA and Pure. The SPA mode (1 push of the “on” button) wiggles, taps and uses T-sonic pulsations. Pure mode (two pushes of the “on” button) just wiggles and taps. Pure mode is said to be preventative while SPA mode fixes puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles. There are 8 intensities (speeds) that are controlled with the + and - buttons. When the device is turned off and back on, it will remember the last set intensity. Increasing the speed does not affect the frequency of the T-sonic pulsations.
The Iris is waterproof with a sealed charging port and it has a 2 year warranty. It comes with a nice color-coordinated storage bag. There’s no complicated cleaning routine - just soap and water. The silicone is non-absorbent and any residual facial products easily wash off. The demonstration videos make it look like the Iris buttons respond with a light touch. I must have weak hands because the buttons are very hard for me to push. I have to use two hands and smash as hard as I can.
I am sensitive/allergic to anything that has a perfumey smell (natural or synthetic) and use fragrance free products whenever possible. As a result, there are very few cosmetic products that I can use. Fortunately the sample of the Foreo eye serum that is included in the box had no fragrance added and did not have any scent. Products other than the Foreo eye serum can be used, but I would always use some type of moisturizer/serum. When used dry, the Iris drags and pulls.
Because it’s impossible to totally avoid anything with a scent, I have perpetual bags under my eyes from the allergic reaction. I watched several videos, looking for information on the scientific principle behind the Iris and how to best use it on puffy eyes. Most of the videos were made by 20 - 30 year olds with very minor or non-existent eye issues. I was eventually able to find the following information:
The device does more than just help the eye products absorb. In SPA mode it emits a transdermal pulse that is a low frequency sound wave. The sound waves penetrate the dermal layer of the skin and increase blood flow. The blood circulation is what makes dark circles lessen. The sound waves smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. The sound waves and the motion help with lymph drainage. The drainage is what is needed to eliminate the fluid in the bags under the eyes. The Iris should be placed gently about a half inch below the eye (bottom of the puffy area) and allowed to move mostly on its own from inner to outer eye. Then go back and forth over the eyebrow area. The eyebrow area should be included in the treatment because the brow is connected to the lymph system.
As for my personal experience - after 5 days I’m starting to see a little improvement. The puffiness originally extended about ½ inch. Now the area closest to my eye is de-puffed and only the bottom puffy half remains. I’m hoping that with continued use I might eventually be able to keep the puffiness under control. But with constant allergies, I might be fighting a losing battle. As long as I continue to see some improvement, 1 minute twice a day is very easy to do. I confess that if a beauty treatment takes more than 5 minutes at a time, I probably won’t use it consistently.
On young eyes with minor issues, the Iris should work great - at least as well as a manual massage and probably better. Time will tell how well it works on old eyes with more serious problems.

My first instinct when I got this was that it was a complete waste of money. After charging it on the DC charger it came with, I have used it every day for about two weeks now. The curved silicon oval wiggles and produces a sonic A few pros and cons I will lay out to make it plain and simple.
PROS
-definitely see a difference with puffiness
- feels like a real eye massage
- holds a charge for a long time (one charge a week for me with daily use)
CONS
- Confusing settings at first
- Doesn't really do anything for my dark circles though
- Price point is a little steep
I'd classify this as a useful, effective but luxury item. It is a salon, professional quality item and I think with continued use I will continue to see the results I am seeing. If you can afford the price point, it will produce results, especially with puffiness and overall eye brightness.

Feels Like It Is Working

As I have gotten older, I have noticed the effects of aging around my eyes. I have quite a bit of puffiness and some sagging. It doesn't bother me too much, but I jumped at the chance to try this device and hopefully do something about it.
So does it work? I used it for about 2 weeks and feel that it has helped somewhat. I can’t promise that it will work for everyone, but I think the short term results have been promising. I plan to continue using it and hope for more results over the long term. I enjoyed the feeling of using it to massage around areas of my eyes. It left my eyes feeling nice and relaxed.
I can recommend this product to anyone that is concerned about having eye puffiness. I feel that it is effective on me, but I can’t say that you will get the same results. But I certainly think it is worth a try if you are concerned about your appearance (and who isn't), and can afford the cost. I would put this product in the same category as a massage or other splurge on yourself.
Included in the box is everything you need to get started, except for a power adapter. But any powered USB port should work. There are also a few packages of Foreo serum and a soft carrying case.

According to my wife, the FOREO IRIS Eye Massager is a very easy tool to setup and use. Charging is made convenient by the included USB cable and battery life is adequate to a device its size. The vibration around the eye region take some getting use to, but it does have a therapeutic feel to it. My wife was pleased with her experiencing using it, but seeing noticeable results may take some time to see.

I initially received a product that would not charge and the (-) button would not press down. After receiving a replacement, it worked great. It works really well and is very easy to use. The plus and minus buttons adjust the intensity of the massager and I can visibly see results after a couple weeks of constant use. I am amazed and not questioning how it works. Just grateful that it does.

MAYBE works but makes things unnecessarily complex

I have puffy dark raccoon eyes and have had them for pretty much my entire life. Now that I'm middle-aged and the skin around my eyes is getting even thinner, I'm not if there's any hope at all for me. But that didn't keep me from giving the IRIS the old college try, and the promise of enjoying some of the invigorating and age-defying benefits of a "finger-tapping massage" via the IRIS's undulations and vibrations that provide "Asian lymphatic-drainage acupressure" seemed like a tantalizing proposition. In the end, did using the IRIS regularly "reduce under-eye bags & dark circles while brightening, smoothing & firming the under-eye area"? Um...no, not really. Is that the IRIS's fault, or maybe a failing of the rejuvenating eye serum I was using that was designed to firm, tone, tighten, and brighten? Honestly, I can't be sure, but either way, the IRIS seemed to turn a task that wasn't really problematic in the first place into something that felt unnecessarily complex.
Starting with what comes in the box--you get the IRIS itself, a slightly suggestive looking little appliance that's covered in some very soft silicone, a cloth storage bag, USB-charging cable (but no charger), and a few sample packets of eye serum. The bottom of the device glows white to indicate charging and operational status. The main button in the middle turns the unit off and on, and changes the operation from twisting + vibration mode to just twisting mode. The little +/- buttons adjust the speed and intensity of the twisting motion and the unit's vibration. The buttons are not difficult to activate, but they do take a bit of force and delay before the effect kicks in--this makes it far less likely that you'll accidentally change the mode of operation or vibration/twisting speed mid-use.
The idea here is that the two "legs" of the IRIS device twist back and forth right near the tip while the entire unit will also vibrate in full-blown "spa mode" if that's what you want. Once the IRIS is running and you've adjusted the speed or vibrations to your liking, you glide the tip back and forth under your eyes and up around the top of your eye socket in 30 second increments (30 below, 30 above, rinse and repeat for the other eye). If you use serum (the IRIS comes with a few sample packets) or other eye cream, the IRIS is supposed to help massage the product into your skin while you're using it.
Now, I freely admit I've never had a spa day or skin treatment and I've never had a finger-tapping eye massage, so I honestly don't know what it was I was supposed to feel when I was done using the IRIS. But I can't rightly say that after using the IRIS I felt rejuvenated, or even that the skin around my eyes felt toned or tightened or less baggy. It didn't feel bad, certainly, but it just felt like the skin had been man-handled a bit. I suppose some people might like that feeling (like a gentle massage), but it really didn't do anything for me. My wife is a bit older than me and has even thinner skin under her eyes--she tried it and flat out said it was painful to use because all she felt was the rhythmic pummeling on her bones so her audition was completely off the table. After 2 weeks of daily use, I think MAYBE a few very VERY faint wrinkles under my eyes might be slightly less pronounced, but there were certainly no slight to even moderate reductions in puffiness, darkness, or any other signs of aging. Again, maybe the areas around my eyes are just too far gone.
Yes, the IRIS did help massage the eye serum into my skin, but frankly that activity was never really much of a problem in the first place. I suppose you could make the case that none of the expensive eye cream was being absorbed into the fingers during application, so that's a bonus, but it felt like it was more of a chore to spread all that product around with the IRIS than just massaging it into the skin myself.
What ultimately bugged me most about using the IRIS was a bit of a shortcoming in usability. The light on the bottom of the unit flashes when the 30 second increments are complete indicating you're supposed to move on from under or over one eye to the next spot on your face. The problem is that when you're holding the IRIS in your hand and monitoring the whole process in the mirror, your hand covers the entire base of the unit so you can't see the light signal. If you're using the IRIS in spa mode (with vibrations), you also can barely feel the quick break in the vibrations that accompany the flash telling you it's time to move on.
That wouldn't really be a big deal except for the fact that those increments aren't programmable so if you spend a bit more time under one eye trying get all that product to absorb, the cycle might end on you prematurely before you've had a chance to finish working over the other parts of your face. This is something that could be remedied with a simple audible beep, or at least making the vibration breaks between 30 second treatment increments more obvious. For example, when the full IRIS cycle is complete (2 minutes), it makes a few VERY obvious vibrations, like a cell phone ringing, and then turns off. Is this a big deal--no, but you're going to spend THIS much money on a product that is supposed to automate an already pretty simple task, it should at least be self-evident when you're supposed to move to the next stage of that task and not be left wondering if you've spent too much or too little time massaging your skin or applying product.
Perhaps I am just not be the target demographic for this product, or maybe you need to have much thicker skin under your eyes than I do, but unless you are already pretty enthusiastic about finger tapping eye massages, my experience suggests that the IRIS may not end up doing much for you, either.

Actually Makes a Difference

Low maintenance, big results! This literally takes only 2 minutes a day to see and feel the difference.
They recommend treating each eye twice per day at just 30 seconds per eye, per treatment.
After just one day, you can feel the treated area starting to tighten up. There was even some change in the appearance of under eye puffiness.
After a week of use, there was a visual improvement to all treated areas including, eye puffiness, crows feet, and fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area.
The device includes a few anti-aging serum packets, but you can use any serum or eye cream that you already have. The tapping and massaging technique actually helps the serums and creams to penetrate easier into the skin tissue. The included serum can get a little tacky when using it with the eye massager, the stickiness was causing some of the under eye skin to bunch up while trying to slide the massager along the skin below the eye. I'm sure the Foreo Serum is of great quality, and that is probably why it is so thick, but I have a difficult time using it as is. I found myself mixing it with a retinol cream I had, and that worked out very well for creating a solution the eye massager could use by just sliding it back and forth. If you want to use the massager with just the included serum, I found that by putting small dabs directly onto the target areas, you can just lower the massager down on top of the dabs of serum, and let the massager do it's thing by tapping the serum into your skin. Lift and reposition the massager onto the next target area, and so on until your job is done.
The silicone coating has a super smooth and silky feeling, and glides across the skin easily without any creams or serums.
The massager has 2 modes with 8 intensities each, and it even has a memory so it can start right back up on the last setting used.
The Foreo Iris even has a built-in timer, pausing every 30 seconds to alert you when it's time to switch eyes.
It only takes an hour to charge and could last about 50 times after a full charge. That number might change
based on the intensity levels of each treatment, but shouldn't be by much.
The Iris is even waterproof, so technically it could be used in the tub or shower anytime, and includes a 2 year warranty.
Overall this device has no side effects that I know of and works great with minimal effort. It's a much safer and less
expensive way to deal with the signs of aging vs injections or surgeries.

I've been using this for a little over a month now inconsistently, but I think it really has helped with the dark eye circles and puffiness I get from lack of sleep and stress. I try to use it right after I shower and right before I put my skin care products on. If anything it's a nice little feel-good massage.
When I first used it, it was a little weird to move around my eye for the massage feeling and I was afraid of putting too much pressure and actually bruising myself, but you get the hang of it easily. The buttons to turn the device on and off are a little hard to press. I wish there was an easier way to turn it on/off and control the speed.

My wife and I both tried this product. Out of curiosity for me and probably more of the intended demographic for her.
Setup was fairly easy. Ours didn't have much of a charge left after opening it but a quick charge with the included USB cable and we could try it out.
How to use the massager is where it falls a little flat. My wife and I tried it for the first time separately and both had the same thing to say about the buttons. They're just not great. The middle button felt impossible to press at times. Plus and minus were kind of hit or miss. Feedback on whether you actually pressed the button was often times absent. The buttons felt like you needed either press really hard or use your thumbnail to jab at the button somehow. The worst part is the lock/unlock action requires you to press and hold plus and minus for 3 seconds. It took me more than a few tries and half of the time I didn't know if I had successfully locked or unlocked it at all. The user experience could use a lot of work here.
After all that, the massager did feel pretty good. I just used it as recommended in their quick start guide but without the cream and it definitely did a good job of massaging around my eyes. I liked it. My wife used it with the cream and for longer. She also felt like it did a good job.
If you can get over the clunky "interface" then you could have a pretty decent massager on your hands here.

So at my age I have some puffyness around my eyes and some bagging along the bottom as well. I was hoping to get rid of that and some dark circles that I felt really aged my face. You hear of all kinds of at home do it yourself tricks and they just hadn't worked for me so I thought I'd give this a shot.
I've been using this for a brief period of time, maybe two weeks so far. It's very relaxing to your face with the way it waves back and forth or side to side over your skin gently applying pressure as if you had a little person giving you a miniature massage haha. I have noticed some of the puffy or bagging disappear slightly which I'm happy about and look forward to seeing just how much this can turn back the clock for me.
It's nicely made and feels like a silicone cover, easy to clean and use. Very soft against the skin. Buttons and functions and all are easy to use and self explanatory. Very simple to use.
I'd definitely recommend this to others trying for the same results

It Feels Good

To start, let me clarify that this was tested mostly by my girlfriend and I’m just trying to repeat her words here. The first thing she said was that it felt good. As I watched her, I couldn’t but think that it looked odd. It wiggles when it’s massaging. It’s almost comical but I don’t think that really matters.
I tried it myself once and it didn’t hurt or felt odd. I wouldn’t say it felt good, but it definitely didn’t feel bad either. My girlfriend genuinely likes it, but she says she has noticed only a slight difference in darkness around her eyes after the massage. I couldn’t tell much of a difference either but I have never noticed any dark circles on them anyway. She is willing to wait a few more days to see how they will look after daily use. She just emphasized that her eyes feel revigorated and for her, that’s a plus. It helps with the creams she uses as they seem to penetrate her skin deeper. That’s the main reason she is hopeful it will make a difference in the long run.
She mentioned that it vibrates in thirty-second intervals. That’s when you should move it to the other eye or stop it. Her complaint is that the vibration is so light that she has missed it a few times or was not sure it had occurred. She has been paying more attention to it now.
Easy to charge and the silicone seems to be of very good quality. The instruction video on YouTube is short but there is not much to learn anyway.

Night and Day Difference On My Eyes

This tool is night and day on my eyes... from a guy's perspective I figured I'd give this a try. Most of my life (especially in college) I have dealt with bags under my eyes from time to time.
Well I went to work last week and I thought my experiment would be to use it for a couple of days and then stop using it one day. Well, I walked into to work and my boss' first question was "Are you sick, what's wrong with your eyes they are very tiny and puffy?" In that moment I knew the Foreo was working. At first I was in awe but then I laughed it off to myself and have been using it daily.
The important part is know the skin care products that work for you. Personally I like a hydration serum and a face lotion that isn't greasy.
The silicone material doesn't pull against your skin or hair so don't worry about that. Charging is simple and setup is even easier. There are three pieces: storage bag, the massager, and the charging cable.
Side note, I purchased a far more expensive massager years ago and I just gave up on it because the plastic and material was cold and hurt my sockets. Also the ability to change the speed of the massage is great as well. In the evening I like to have the faster speed and in the morning I am far more careful with the slow setting.
Definitely a great device to add to your moisturizing routine guys!

The FOREO - IRIS Eye Massager is a quick and easy high end everyday eye facial. Right out of the box it was easy to set up. It was fully charged within an hour and ready to use. I downloaded the FOREO App and connected the device to the app. Very easy to set up and the app is great because it shows you how to use the device and talks you through the treatment. You connect your FOREO via bluetooth and you can also scan the QR code that came with the device.
My kit came with 10 eye treatments, which I used in the morning and night to massage my eyes. The treatment added moisture around my eyes and massaged it during the treatment. It was a quick 30 seconds around each eye and you can repeat as many time as you would like.
Each treatment is quick, if you are on the go but want to do a quick treatment this is a must buy. It takes a total of 60 sec. for each treatment and you can do it two to three times more if you have the time.
I used the treatment twice a day and there was a noticeable difference around my eyes. The skin was brighter and smoother.
Overall, if you are looking for a quick facial treatment that locks in the moisture and massages around the eyes this is a must buy. I am impressed with this small portable eye treatment and massager.

Lately I've been paying a little more attention to my eyes when doing my skincare so I was very interested in trying out this device to see if it was something I would see benefits from. This ended up being one of those products that while feels good using and doesn't cause any issues I wouldn't say I got some eye opening benefits from. It's definitely a relaxing device to use with the gentle pulsating and massaging (regardless of which mode I used or what strength I put the pulsating on it was never uncomfortable). That's definitely a great thing, but other than that I haven't seen any other benefit from using it (so far). To be fair though...I don't have major issues with bags or extremely dark under eye circles so it's likely I wouldn't notice much of a difference versus someone that is battling with those types of issues.
One plus side to this device, unlike the other Foreo device that I have there is no requirement to use the app with it. Other than using the app to register it you don't have to ever use the app again unless you want a refresher on how to use it or device care info. Charging it didn't take long (perhaps an hour and a half) and you are supposed to get numerous uses before you need to charge it again. So far, I have used it daily for 2 weeks and have not needed to charge it again.
Overall, if you want to add a relaxing massager to your skincare routine for your eye area this is a good choice. Over time you may notice the benefits to under eye bags (perhaps quicker if you have more prominent bags), dark circles, and fine lines along with a good serum. I will definitely keep using it simply because it is relaxing and feels like it helps my eye serums and creams sink in a bit better

Got the opportunity to review the Foreo Iris and it’s different. I opened up the box to find the unit, a power cord with USB/A to proprietary plug, a pink satchel to store it in, a few sample packs of serum, and an instruction booklet.
The webpage for the Iris says it’s for eye bags, dark circles, dry and irritated eyes. I don’t have bags, rather the opposite, my look sunken. What I do have are dark circles, so I thought this might work for me. And it does. I’ve noticed a remarkable difference since using the Iris. I tend to use a magnifying mirror up close, and the dark circles really show up. Looking in a regular mirror, I can see the circles, but not as bad. Now after using the Foreo Iris, looking in a regular mirror, I can hardly notice. In my magnifying mirror, I see improvement too.
I got to say this thing is weird. I didn’t think the soft massage action would do anything, but it does. It feels rather soft, but the gentle action is soothing to the eyes. There are 2 modes and I think I’ve used both, but it’s hard to tell which mode I’m in. I imagine there is a way and I’ll just have to find it as I continue to use the Iris. The silicone shell is easy to clean with just warm water. There is a charging port and I try to keep it dry. I only need to rinse the serum off the massaging end.
So, would I recommend it to a friend? If my friend had puffy bags or dark circles around their eyes, you bet. It works and ultimately that’s what matters. It is a bit pricey, but what isn’t if it’s a decent quality product…and this is. Once again or lastly, I don’t get how the delicate touch helps remove the raccoon eyes, but it does so don’t ask questions…right? I know I’ll keep using the Iris as part of my face routine.

I got this for my wife so I'll be sharing her thoughts on this device. The Foreo Eye Massager is an interesting addition to her skin care regime. The instructions were not very clear so we turned to an online video from the manufacturer to learn how to use it. It took some time to figure out how to find the right speed/intensity for the massaging action. The fastest setting is way too fast and difficult to control. She landed on one of the lower settings. She's been using it for over a week now but it is difficult to say if she has noticed any improvement. She will continue to use it as part of her skin care routine and we will update the review in the weeks ahead.

I have really bad eye bags and puffiness, and this device is very helpful because it helps with blood flow and lymphatic drainage to reduce the puffiness.
I’ve been using it daily now to apply my eye cream and serum.
Can’t really tell if helps with crow's feet, fine lines or wrinkles though…
The device is very lightweight, and it has pretty good battery charge.
I like the controls on the device so you don’t need to use an app for this.
There are 2 modes: Pure Mode replicates a manual massage, and my favorite, Spa Mode, recreates a professional beauty treatment by combining tapping with delicate pulsations.
Overall, it is nice eye massager with cool and relaxing pulsations and I love it!

Whenever I come across a personal "hygeniene" device such as this, I am skeptical. However, I try to approach testing out the item with an open mind, and an eagerness to learn new ways of 'self-improvement.'
Initially, I was interested in this Foreo Iris Eye Massager because I do have issues with dark circles and bags under my eyes. Anything which might improve this area would be desirable to me.
I was very skeptical to use the included serum, and after opening it, decided against it, opting instead to use one of my own eye creams.
Overall, I did notice a positive effect of the treatment as far as relaxing the treated area. It was like a gentle "tapping" massage for my eyes. I've no doubt, the Foreo Iris increases blood circulation with its rhythmic T-Sonic pulsations, making the skin around my eyes feel rejuvinated. The pulsations were nice, not overpowering as I'd feared they might be. Though I prefered to use the device's lower settings, for this very reason.
There seemed to be a built-in 30 second "timer" letting you know to move onto a different section of your eye area. Which was great! This made it an easy task to do all 4 'quadrants.'
I do think the Foreo Iris Eye Massager is a well-made device. It's matte silicone surface is easy to hold and the size fits in my hand well so it's pleasant to maneuver around the areas you're treating.
However, to me, this is an overpriced device. While I like how the Foreo Iris makes my eye area feel, I'm not actually "seeing" much of a noticable difference in the dark circle or bags under my eyes, as of yet. But I'll keep using the device, and perhaps there merely needs more time to see the results. Of course, others may have a different experience.

I got this for the wife and couldn’t be happier. She is using the device regularly! She is approaching 40 years of age and has complained a few times about her skin quality and the start of wrinkles. I’m confident that she will be continuing to use this!
