I even paid for it's installation. After a year we found the grinder broken and have to replace the unit. We seldom use this and we have a stainer so I don't know why the grinder was chipped off.

Posted .Rehaber, I am dismayed to hear your garbage disposal is not performing as expected. I have a few tips that might help. Always use cold water when engaging your disposal. Your garbage disposal is only so big, and its blades and motor are only so powerful, so you might encounter difficulties if you feed it large chunks of meat or fruit. Don’t grind extremely fibrous material like corn husks, celery stalks, onion skins, and artichokes. Fibers from these can tangle and jam the garbage disposal motor and block drains. Go easy, cut waste into smaller chunks, and only put in a few pieces at a time. Otherwise, you can overwork the disposal and clog or jam it.
