Two minor issues: (1) some times it takes a while for the satellites to be captured; (2) after the first map update the unit is almost out of flash memory and Garmin recommends that we buy additional SD card.

It is not up to date (I will have to install updates before our next trip) and it doesn't have traffic updates which would be extremely helpful on our road trips. I will have to purchase a special cable according to the device to download this feature. It is good for getting you from Point A to Point B!

Posted .Correct, the Garmin Drive™ 52 (010-02036-06) does not include traffic out of the box. To receive traffic information, a GTM™ 36 traffic receiver power cable (010-01009-02) will have to be purchased separately.
The Garmin Drive™ 52 & Traffic (010-02036-07) includes an embedded traffic receiver in the device and utilizes a traffic antenna vehicle power cable to provide traffic information right out of the box.
The current Garmin DriveSmart™ 66/76/86 all also include an embedded traffic receiver in the device and utilizes a traffic antenna vehicle power cable to provide traffic information right out of the box as well.
Updates occur approximately each quarter of the year, so it is possible that depending on when the device was manufactured and packaged that the mapping may not be the latest update available.
