Best watch ever. It is monotone so it can be viewed in almost no light situations. It is hi-tech and very functional. Not your typical smartwatch. More for outdoors and survivalist type people. With solar charging, you rarely ever have to charge.

Great watch, keeps up with all your steps, heart rate, o2 levels, and much more. It is very durable I work in a fabrication shop and so far it has held up. Battery life is great, especially if you workout in the sun it will recharge itself.

Best watch for blue collar workers this thing is tough and reliable and the light helps when working in tough spots also have had watch for a month and haven’t charged it

A great watch. I use it for kayaking, MTB, trail running and it is Great!. It had a black and white screen (not colour neither touch screen) but it is necessary for more power and solar charge capacity. The battery last more than 20 days if you don't use gps. Using gps I believe it could last at least 3 days (more than I need when I hike) but without taking into account the dollar charge capacity. To have taking on maps you need your cellphone. You can download previously map an your phone to work without connection

I love that it tracks heart rate and sleep. It does what a smart watch does but looks like a typical watch. It’s durable and I’m not scared that I will break it while I’m at work.

Once you get used to it works well and it's built well. Battery life is great.

Like the look in the watch. The battery last longer due to the solar charge. I am able to track my sleep, steps and other health in the app. I did get an irregular heartbeat alert while exercising which is good to know so I can follow up with my doctor.

This was a birthday present to myself. I upgraded from an original Garmin Instinct, which I enjoyed for a couple of years. This Garmin is loaded with features that I will never use, but using it for training and running 5K and 10Ks, it is an improvement. Initial setup is done with a QR code and setting up basic functions like quiet time are a snap. I have already done many training runs and a few races and have found it to be accurate. Linking to GPS is instantaneous. The best feature (so far) is the audio giving me run time at each mile. I think this has made me run a little faster. Another feature is the watch giving suggestions prior to starting an activity. It's easy to back out of that screen, but good to know before starting a race. Although the screen is the same size as my original Instinct, I have found it a little easier to read this one, even when not wearing glasses. I am nearsighted and have a cataract forming in one eye (Medicare just kicked in, so that will be addressed soon.) This is a good looking watch as well as functional.

Bought for my anniversary with fiance. He enjoyed the rugged look, long battery life (I think he said weeks with one charge), and its improved sensor (he was upgrading from two gens back). The built in flashlight was a cool surprise.

This is the fourth instinct I've owned. The first Gen. Then since I've been getting the solar version to extend the battery life. I wanted a watch that was semi smart but not over the top that I was charging it every day or every four days. I enjoy the battery life. When I've been on vacation and out in the sun for longer timeframes the solar charging keeps your watch happy. It's great for tracking steps and sleep habits. I've used the GPS a few times to find my car. My older instincts I've passed along to my fiancée. She uses the GPS function to track dog walks for clients. Works good for that. The instinct is a good watch for holding up to outdoor life and good battery life at a reasonable cost.

Got this as a gift for my husband. He loves the durability of the watch and not having to worry about breaking it as easy as other smart watches. Battery life lasts forever

The black and white MIP on the 3 Solar has the same resolution as the 2 Solar but is night and day more contrasty and legible. The 3 sports a beautiful display panel. GPS is on par with the Fenix lineup and includes most of the advanced training metrics. What's not to love? The muted twilight color is uniquely fresh and stands out from the sea of black watches.
