This Garmin is great! The directions are clear, the screen is easy to read, it even tells her the speed limit on each road/hwy so she knows if she is speeding. Great buy! We will take with us when we travel out of town and need a rental car.

My old Tom Tom had more info on the display without having to touch it to go to another screen to get more info so that means one has to take their hands off the wheel while driving to acess the info.

It constantly tries to take me on side roads instead of highways when the highway is faster. I honestly feel like its defective. The traffic reports never work right. I have to ignore some traffic reports and routes and use common sense almost every time i use it in order to save time. Many times i have ignored the gps route and continued on the highway and have saved myself time on almost every occasion. DO NOT BUY

Posted .For the best experience, it's important to make sure the device software is up to date, along with any GPS firmware and/or map updates. Routing can be determined by custom settings, so it is possible that your device may have been deliberately deterring you from highway travel or using distance as a factor versus estimated time traveling.

Great choice for a frequent traveller

Garmin has the best timing and frequency at which directions are given to the driver. The only times I've had to turn around have been when I wasn't listening to the GPS. This isn't the cheapest unit, but it has great features for frequent travellers
