I live in Texas and tried to get directions to several different local addresses and not once did it get the address correct. Even though I specified Texas I got addresses in South Dakota and Kansas and even those numbers were not correct. Maybe it's just me :-(. Other than that, great GPS.

There is no way possible to disable. Was on phone with garmin for 30 minutes today. Even the lady I talked to said it was dangerous and ridiculous.

All told me within 1 foot of the intersection. This new one and several other models I tried will go from 10 to 8 to 4 to zero miles per hour all after I have come to a complete stop. As far as intersections. I was told I was 40 feet from it and I was ON the intersection. At one time I crawled past the intersection and was told I had 9 feet to go. With the past 3 Garmin's it was totally accurate, this has gone downhill and when I called Garmin they said this was within their acceptable limits. When I pointed out that previous units were much more accurate I was told sorry. I'm sorry I bought Garmin I will try another product next time

Posted .If your device does not have full view of the sky while placed in the car, it may not acquire satellites properly. For the most accurate satellite acquisition, please be sure that you've mounted the device on the windshield or dashboard.
The GPS receivers that Garmin uses are consumer grade, which means that they are accurate to within 15 meters (49 feet) 95% of the time. Generally, users will see accuracy within 5 to 10 meters (16 to 33 feet) under normal conditions. We do apologize if this does not meet your expectations.

Apparently I need to buy a $60 cord? I call BS. Also the voice recognition is horrible, it does not recognize addresses in my area.

It often misses them completely or warns you about them when you are already in them. When it did recognize a traffic jam it routed me off the freeway through a residential circle an then right back on the freeway where I got off. The screen view shown on the advertisement does not seem to be actually available on the device. I might recommend this device to an enemy but definitely not to a friend. Every initial attempt to update the map will result in an error message. Unfortunately I did not use the device on a trip right away so the return period passed or I would have definitely returned it.

One was in warranty and the other was not. I am totally disappointed in that kind of record and will not buy another Garmin Nuvi GPS. I purchased a TomTom and hope it lasts longer!
