Some interesting features, there is less disruptive noises coming from this model. But the warnings for getting close are kind of nice but at ties a little bit of an annoyance. Otherwise i like the product

Don't buy this for the voice recognition

This Garmin is easy to use when manually entering information but the voice recognition is just about useless in my estimation...wrong 80% of the time. Uses the well established Garmin interface which seem pretty unintuitive to me (this is my second Garmin after a Tom Tom that I found easier to use). All that said this unit had the features I was looking for (particularly the dash cam) at this premium price point. While it is certainly an upgrade over the less expensive models I guess I was hoping for better voice command performance and an advanced interface. This unit has neither. If you are a Garmin devotee you may love this unit regardless but I was disappointed.

Just back from a NYC trip and local environs-Long Island etc. This GPS was useless on the journey-took us places via very strange round about ways. Visiting my wife's hometown she was flabbergasted by the difficult routing. Leaving the Battery park area-the GPS elected to route us through the small tourist laden streets around Ground Zero. Took forever. Junk and way too pricey-does not deliver.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for the nüviCam LMTHD. I would like to respond to your review with some suggestions and troubleshooting.

When set to faster time, the nüviCam uses information including posted speed limits, road types, and driving distance to create a route that is faster even if it may be a longer distance. If the device's route preference or calculation mode is set to Shorter Distance, this may cause the device to guide you off of a highway in order to navigate a more direct route. The following FAQ article will help guide you to further check these settings: http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId=;{74029b30-0250-11dd-dc9c-000000000000}&kbName=garmin

There are also navigational avoidances which can be set on your nüviCam, the following FAQ link will guide you http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId=;{1a3e95b0-2f4d-11de-76c5-000000000000}&kbName=garmin

Other factors include system software updates. Garmin often releases updates for devices to improve performance, correct bugs or add new features. This will only update the internal operating system software. To check for updates download and install Garmin Express:  http://www.garmin.com/express

Had nuvicam about a month now and is doing the job that I wanted it to do. All new technical devices are confusing at first but if you persevere it becomes your friend.

It does all it says except it has a hard time when trying to use voice command. I was clear in my commands and also had others try and give it a command. Other than voice command it meets all my expectations.

I didn't buy the extended warranty from Bestbuy on this Garmin, used it twice last summer. Got ready to go to Charlotte, from Charleston,WV, plugged it in to cig lighter, nothing. Will not power up. Left it in lighter to charge down to Charlotte, NC (4.5 hours) still wouldn't come on, took it into hotel room, charged on AC charger overnight, wouldnt power on. Just received RMA # from Garmin to ship it back to them. The support guy recommended charging it monthly, if I wasnt going to use it alot. Wonderful..

Maps are easy to update. I have a navigation screen in my car. It cost $200.00 to update the maps. Won't do that. Map updates for my garmin are free. I look forward to years of service.

I work for a delivery service and I need to use a gps daily, inputting over a hundred address' at a time, this gps like many others starts to stall out and lag during the data entry process. Even after spending 500 on this new gps it still stalls during data entry making me lose precious time that as a delivery driver is unacceptable.

I traded my Nuvi-3590 in today because purchased the three year insurance and the screen broke on it after 2 years and 7 months of use, that along with a hard fall into the driveway. I have actually had some issues with the Nubia-3590 for over two years now but breaking the screen today got my to the store to replace it. I was given $300 stored credit towards this newer version because of the $99 insurance inpurchased. So I begged my wife to let me upgrade for $100 and of course, got the insurance just in case. I believe the forward collision and side warming featires might even modify my driving behavior to become a safer driver, I didn't know it had that feature until I put it on my windshield! I love it! The camera is definitely HD (1080p)! Has coordinates, speed, date and time in hours, minutes, seconds. This could prove highly powerful as evidence in court. Also it has audio. If I were to have a bad experience with someone, let's say a police officer, I could defiantly benefit from the audio evidence as well. I agree with another poster on here. All they need to do now is incorporate radar detection in these masterpieces, and maybe some fortune upgradable Bluetooth wireless cameras on the side and rear of your car that are mountable for a 360 view and 360 degree evidence. If buy that!!! :-) love it after driving with it three hours today!

Forward and side warnings are erratic and annoying, going off when nobody is within a quarter mile. Dash cam is great. Similar to most other GPS units can give directions too late to react safely. Instructions are nonexistent. Overall does the job but was hoping for better for the price.
