When you buy this product you can not go wrong. This is the best product ever. Very good product to teach you how to be a safe driver. I have a CDL. I think this is the best learning experience device for new drivers. I LOVE IT. A++ Also great for those special moments where you need to have some type of evidence to either show the police or judge of what happened. Even in those moments where you have to argue a speeding ticket. You have evidence to show the judge.

Garmin Cheaps Out on "Premium" Navigator

I have had numerous Gamins over the years and they have all had some minor issues. For $300+ I expect a battery that will last for more than 10 minutes unplugged. To make matters worse Garmin makes it impossible to power up the unit by any other means besides plugging into your vehicle. When using the Garmin supplied cord, it will not charge the device via USB. If you use the supplied data cord and connect it to the computer, it will only allow you to access the update menu. You cannot access any of the other features. This means that if you want to do any set-up or programming of the GPS it all has to be done from inside your vehicle. This is unacceptable for a $300 device considering my Garmin 50LM can be powered from a USB port without issue. Also unacceptable for the price is the fact that as soon as I took the device out of the box, and applied the updates, I promptly got a message stating the device was 98% full. While it does have the ability to add a memory card, this shouldn't be necessary right out of the box. I know Garmin has used the excuse before that map sizes have grown so large, internal memory can't handle them. I could buy that for an entry level or older device, but not a brand new device that they list as their "Premium Auto" Navigator". Good luck getting their internet based apps like FourSquare to work. The Smart Link app you download to your phone constantly disconnects, no matter how close the phone is to the GPS. The camera feature did work very well, however the supplied data card is too small. So plan on purchasing two memory cards for this, one for the video and another for system memory. The driver assistance aids such as forward collision and lane departure warning produced too many false alerts. I didn't really expect much from these considering they relied solely on the camera, whereas the systems built into cars are much more sophisticated. The voice recognition seemed to work well in my limited testing, however I changed the activation phrase to "Old Lady" (my wife's idea) which caused the system to think I was trying to wake it up at least once a day, I assume based on picked up radio station conversations. The lane direction feature worked much better than my previous Gamins and not only provided a view of complicated exchanges, it also told you the best lane to be in while approaching. While I really liked the idea of having a camera and GPS integrated into one, I think this has too many issues to make it worth $300+ and will have to be returned. If only Google made a dedicated car GPS, they would put GARMIN out of business.

Bought this one because of all the bells and whistles. It was working just great then all of a sudden the front collision sensor started to go off and the funny thing about that,NO CARS IN FRONT OF US.So returned it back to Best Buy,get the extended warranty when or if you buy, glad I did,and the young lady who took care of us at BestBuy was just fantastic, and purchased a new Garmin 65 LM with out any of the extra stuff and will see how this one does.REMEMBER.... Get the extended warranty ! You may need it in the not to distant future.Oh by the way,I had this one less the 4 months maybe with out the bells and whistles this new one will last longer the 4 months.

    Lane change

Been using my NuviCam and it is great GPS, except for the fact the lane change and collision features are way to slow to be of any use. The alert come on way past crossing the lane and returning to the center of highway. And I get collision alerts when there are no cars in sight. Other than that I like it.

"Nuvi" okay, "Cam" not so much

The GPS function works as expected, but the lane departure and front collision warning features need work. No matter how much I attempt to tweak them and adjust the camera position, sometimes these features don't work at all when they should while many other times they activate unnecessarily for no apparent reason. It's too late to return this unit now, but if I had it to do over again I would buy a top of the line Garmin GPS without the camera for much less money.

    - slow compare to Lumia 920 - maps are old (didn't find Home depot store that was there for last 5 years) - exit/turn notification are slow because show not really exact location and missed few exits - again compare to my phone navigator it was 60feet difference! - one of the biggest flaw that you can not put on your truck/pickup using suction cup holder that is comes with because unit are too big and the lenses from cam doesn't give you much room to turn.

Typical great Garmin® GPS performance, dash cam works great too. If it were only possible to SEE THE DISPLAY in bright sunlight! Probably going back due to this design flaw. Folks, the display is extremely glossy, in fact, its a freaking mirror! Bad design choice on a great idea.
