This is the first GPS Unit I've ever purchased. I'd have to say that it was a great first choice! The touch screen is very quick-responding, the features are nice and the User Interface is easy to navigate. The only thing I wish this model had is a longer battery life and voice command. You definitely get a good product for the amount of money you're paying. I'd definitely recommend this GPS if you're on a bit of a budget but want a high quality device.

I bout this for my Dad and he is not so tech friendly. This is my 3rd garmin navigation and he likes this the most. If you are familiar with its interface then this is very basic use for you.

I have had several Garmin GPS units over the years and overall very pleased with them. My main complaint was having to pay for updates (not an issue anymore) and it seemed to take forever to get a signal. The 2557 seems to get triangulated quickly. I don't use all of the features but the screen is clear and easy to read.

I can enter an address and the Garmin automatically pulls up the closest city. Also it does not keep saying recalculating. It just does it.

Bought this 2557 Garmin LMT. Liked the sleek look and larger screen 5". Lifetime Maps & Traffic important features. However, big disappointment with Traffic, POI and address finder. 1) Traffic feature not working at all #LA isn't a big enough city to get traffic frequency - its on the list of cities though# It says the cord is the traffic antenna, but it is NOT so. 2) Finding POI is not great, the buttons all the way on the right to get into more detail of groups is not easy to access. 3)When adding a destination, it prompts you first to add the house number, then the street. My previous one, you add city first, and if you had used the city recently, it is stored in the folder so you didn't have to spell it out. otherwise, it has to search for the city - and often will go to other states first. Not what I would expect from a newer model and at this price point. Very disappointed in Garmin. Isn't the technology supposed to improve as we go forward? Returning this today.

It's true the traffic part is only OK but even the best ones out there are OK but as for the rest of the GPS it's nice for what you pay

Although Garmin products are pre-loaded with OUTUS locations, I.e., Virgin Islands, Bahamas- I find my Garmin units will only update the USA. Why? I do not know. Overall, Garmin is the only way to go. I give 4 stars only because updates will not be done except for USA.

Got it on sale about a month ago for a Christmas present for my daughter, but tempted to give my old one and use this one!!!

This is the third GPS I have owned but the first and last Garmin. In the first hour of operation the unit froze three times. If I varied my route from the one it choose it got confused and would not reroute. Once the unit showed me on a road other than the one I was actually on. Several times it told me to turn onto a street that went nowhere near my requested destination. I returned this after one day and replaced it with a Tom Tom. Best Buy was great in the way they handled the return.
