||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It seems very highway addicted Example I tested it for my drive to the office . it gave me a route on the highway with toll and increasing arrival time compared to my usual route.. My usual route and the one my old GPS (the 2595) utilized was on town streets, no tolls and quicker .It also will sometimes have the purple route line start way ahead of me but not tell me what road to get there. Also many times when I am about to start a trip The line will project from behind the car indicating I should turn around to start the trip Then after i turn it reverses itself back to the way my car was originally parked. Also sometimes it waits too long to tell you to go R or L in town traffic especially when heading to on- ramps or to get in a certain lane on multi lane streets .My biggest complaint would be it waits too long to direct right or left when going to a highway exit that splits to 2 separate routes .For example in providence RI exits 22a and b are close,the system will combined them then it will wait until approximately 100' before it says to go R or L on a busy street with A&B 100' apart and heavy traffic. also does this when in Worcester coming off rt 290 to exits 19/20 routes 190 and 70. it waits until less than 100' to say L or R once on the exit greatly cutting down the time you have to change lanes if needed especially In traffic. The 2595 model never did this. I will probably buy another 2595 and make this a spare unit.

To assist you with getting into the correct lane in time, we’ve included a left or right arrow in the top left corner of the screen within the HUD. This will also show how many miles away you are from the upcoming turn to prepare you before the verbal announcement.

My eldest son is usually my cellular navigator as I prefer maps to computerized voice directed navigation assistance. However, for Christmas my son bought me this Garmin, and I instantly fell in love with it. My son was able to quickly tutor me on how to use it, and I'm quickly becoming a Garmin convert.

Painful that you cannot enter a city name just to get you to that city. Will search sometimes for close names but not othertimes. Needed a street name and did not know that it had a silent "H " in it so it could not find the street name in that city. Close but not what it should be for top of the line.
