Don't waste your money!

He fell in love with the large screen immediately! However, at least twice a day, Garmin says that the location he is looking for doesn't exist. Sometimes he was at the location the previous day but might be coming from a different area so he knows it exists. We spent 7 hours installing the updates so that's NOT the problem. He's called customer service twice! Both times they said that its just a glitch in the system & there's nothing they can do. What good is a GPS system if it WON'T find locations! This piece of junk will definitely be going back to Best Buy! DO NOT BUY THIS!

Posted .Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear your husband encountered some difficulties with find locations/addresses in his nüvi 2689LMT. From what you have described this sounds like errors in the mapping and there are a couple suggestions I can provide to help - (1) submit a map error by using https://my.garmin.com/mapErrors/report.faces which will allow us to add locations in future map updates and (2) your husband can mark and save any location to his device's "Saved" locations by pressing on the vehicle icon on the map page, which will allow him to go back to that exact spot every time.

The screen is bright and easy to read. Intuitive when looking for addresses or place of interest. Voice commands are loud and clear. Like best of all that the it tells to what side of the street your destination is on. Very well priced car GPS system that I would highly recommend.

Great GPS for the directionally challenged

I am very bad with directions and do not really enjoy driving in areas I am unfamiliar with. My favorite feature of this GPS is that is tells and shows you which lane(s) you should be in for turns. That is incredibly helpful. I love this unit!!

Boy have they come a long ways. We like the voice command feature, though it understands a male voice better than a female voice. It was easy to find places like Dunkin Donuts by just saying the name and it would come up with several numbered locations which you just chose one.
